We certainly don't have anything planned! This event isn't likely to recur, so it'd be a one-off and therefore not a priority. That said, you never know if someone gets bored.

It's similar to the xmas event two years ago where you couldn't get the stuff yourself you had to gift it to someone. So it promotes more communication and the such. Maybe.

Hello everyone and welcome to The Bell Tree's latest spring event titled Farewell to New Leaf running from March 7th to 21st, 2024!

Throughout this event, we have a variety of events running on the forum to inspire you to both play and think about Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Some will require you to pop open that dusty ol' 3DS, while others you can enjoy on the forum without a copy of the game. Either way, we hope you'll enjoy remembering everything New Leaf has to offer. Finally, we have also put a focus on offering many different ways you can boost your balance of TBT Bells during this time.

This event's occurrence was initially brought on by the upcoming shutdown of online services on Nintendo 3DS starting in early April, but it has transformed into a love letter of sorts for New Leaf, rather than simply about online play. It is an opportunity for us to say goodbye to an era of Animal Crossing that won't be the same when online services are no longer possible. Players coming together on TBT to play New Leaf online was a very important moment in our history as a forum and led us to where we are today. To this day, a significant portion of our most active users joined in the early days of New Leaf!

Haven't played New Leaf in years? Be mindful of loading up your save if you are someone who cares about their villagers, as New Leaf has a bad habit of sudden villager moves occurring when playing after a long absence! Consider taking time traveling measures to avoid this if it would bother you and use the built-in Activity Log to determine when you last played.

An emoji indicates playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf is required to participate, while an emoji indicates anyone can participate.

I had to go of my way to get a 2nd hand 3ds and game, because I didn't bring my old game to Japan thankfully they're pretty cheap.

But I'm really looking forward to all the fun the next 2 weeks, and especially to play some online games and shenanigans with people for the last time!

FYI for Europeans, Arizonans, etc.: most of North America switched to DST overnight, so your time calculations for trivia and other schedules may now be an hour different if the same didn't happen in your region.

Here I partially am counting on the fact that the daylight savings time change might confuse enough users so *fewer* people show up to trivia, thus increasing my chances of placing

Honestly, same!! I'm so absorbed in this event it's reminding me of the 2022 fair ahaha. The balloon gacha is pretty exciting and I appreciate how much this event encourages trading, plus it's gotten me out of my shell a bit. I've already made some new good memories playing New Leaf again. It's really a very lovely send-off, and I'm enjoying revisiting my old town more than I thought I would.
