Happy lunar new year! 🐉
My theme is a garden gathering to celebrate lunar new year, with fireworks, food and gifts. We also invited the moon as our special guest, hoping for happiness and lots of good luck for the new year! 🥰

The room of good fortune and lucky foods. Decorated in gold, red, and green also feel free to pick up a red envelope or blue pouch. Come on in to have a big feast and celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Dragon with friends and families. 😊🐉

I invited everyone over for a Lunar New Year celebration. Everyone brought their favorite dishes. We saw some fireworks and exchanged red envelopes.

The year of the dragon was for me the reason to try a chinese castle style build with laterns and firework in the background! You may wish for a good new year here and may the year of the dragon be a blessed one.

"High up these specific mountains lies a Dragon Shrine that brings twelve years of good luck and fortune whoever sacrifices their Red Envelope to the Dragon Statue on the Year of the Dragon during Lunar New Year while kneeling and paying their respects to it. Only a dozen people are offered this bestow. A chance to see a Red Dragon here is also possible"

Once upon a time there was a beast terrorizing the villagers of Babaorum, the villagers had discovered that the beast disliked noises, light and the red color so they lit up lanterns and fires, played drums and wore red clothes to scare the beast away. They also brought with them oranges and planted golden and purple chrysanthemums for luck and it worked! They can now enjoy the lunar new year in peace.

Happy Lunar New Year! I prepared a big feast with lots of red and gold. Red to represent happiness and good fortune and gold to bring all my loved ones lots of prosperity and a wealth of blessings. Many seats at the table so we can all share a delicious feast and enter the new year with laughter and joy.

🏮 The eternal banquet 🏮

fctgjfg.jpeg

Long ago, God invited the animals to join for a new year’s banquet. The order in which the animals arrived at the banquet should determine the animal’s position in the zodiac. So, the next day, all the animals hurried to the banquet, and the mischievous rat rode there all the way on the ox’s back. Upon arrival, the rat jumped down on the floor and claimed the first position of the zodiac.

When the dragon finished the race, God wondered why he had not taken first place. In reply, the dragon said that he had to first bring rain to crops and help the people.

🐉

My scene is the depiction of the zodiac banquet, inspired by one of my all time favourite anime series called “fruits basket”, which has the Chinese zodiac origin myth at its core. All the animals came together to celebrate a new year, with the dragon being the guest of honor this year!

I went to the shrine and got a red envelope from my aunt, and when she had left I turned around I saw a RED DRAGON...fly? Um, yeah, a red dragonfly! I was so surprised! I mean, dragons don't exist, so this is as close as you can get to one! And it's red! This is going to be one LUCKY year!

Here's my son's island rep celebrating a quiet Lunar New Year on the island of Nerdalia with his buddy, Murphy. This is my secondary account, as my precious Animal Crossing Switch was left at a Philippine airport recently, never to be seen again 😭. I wanted to feature this meticulously completed rock garden that took me ages to do back during quarantine time.

Happy (very belated) lunar new year!

Although Japan primarily celebrates new years on the western calendar now, traditionally they celebrated lunar new year.

Even growing up where I did, a place where we had very little access to the Japanese culture/ community, my mom always tried to make sure we had mochi for new year (and nowadays my daughter’s preschool actually has a mochi making party for new year).

(Then I added as many festive items as I had left in my recently cleaned out inventory for a lovely and lucky new year)
