What Are You Happy About Today?

Only a few things, but still pretty good!

• I made a huge progress on my drawing for the celebrating diversity event, even though I still got a long way to go! I really want it to look as best as it can be with my current skills. Looks pretty lovely so far with a lot of time spent on it.
• I took a small nap.
• Had a great chat with both @/Midoriya and @/xSuperMario64x! They've both made my evening that's for sure.

Only a few things, but they brightened my day.

- Met an old friend for dinner and caught up.

- Let my kitty into my room and loved on her.

- Had a good chat with @/Shellzilla_515.

- Got a 5 star weapon from Genshin Impact... in only 5 wishes!

Here's what happened yesterday on 6/14/23:
- I ate some Mediterranean food at a restaurant that tasted fresh.
- Played AC: New Horizons and went on an island tour.
- Brushed the cat's fur and she was purring.
- Watched some Hello Kitty cartoons that made me feel nostalgic.

Here's what happened today on 6/15/23:
- I visited my aunt's apartment with my mom and my maternal uncle came to visit her as well, so it was nice to spend some time with them.
- Worked out at home and I noticed that my calves were getting more muscular, so I'm glad that my efforts are paying off.
- Watched some French programs.
- Practiced sketching in soft pastels and colored pencils. I read a book in the library about painting with pastels and the author encourages the reader to practice daily, so I've started a routine of drawing clouds that I see outside from the window.
- The cat slept next to me on my bed in the morning and was purring. He's so cute

- The heatwave ends after today, at least where I live haha, but honestly its not been that bad, def not as awful as last year

- Changed my bed sheets and washed my hair

Went to the doctor and got my thyroid medication adjusted. My levels are really close to normal/healthy! In maybe another month i'll start actually seeing the progress too. My doctor also gave me a script for an inhaler for my long covid. The wildfires really made breathing horrible for me, so i'm glad i'll have breathing relief!

- my mom is doing great at the physio rehab centre. She's already moving her right arm & leg a bit which is great cause the hospital people didn't know if my mom would ever move her right side again
- me and my partner have spent the last 3 days straight cleaning my parents house up so it can be made wheelchair accessible. Hopefully my mom will be happy when she comes home in a couple weeks
- I got so many new tshirts and athletic shorts from my moms closet and most of it still had tags of them. I also took this floor length yellow floral dress. I have no where to wear this dress but it is so damn beautiful. She has a lot of clothes so I didn't even make a dent in her closet. Maybe no more shopping for her lol
- I got another one of those mccain deep & delicious freezer cakes

Additional happies for today!

- Work was smooth sailing and now I'm off for awhile.

- Loved on my kitties and let one of them into my room.

- I finally got the Planar Sphere I was looking for in Honkai: Star Rail! Now my Seele is fully complete. I also cleared difficulty III of world 5 in the Simulated Universe.

- Just used the pool for a bit and got some sun!

- I'm excited for the Demon Slayer finale on Sunday! It's going to be a great one I feel.

- Despite their poor performance against the Angels, I'm excited for the Texas Rangers series against the Blue Jays this weekend.

- Also excited to give my dad his gifts in a couple days on Father's Day.

➣ I worked an extra hour today and saw my favorite person afterwards! She said “I love you,” like, five times which is out of character for her but it made my night. She’s so ****ing sweet.
➣ I have a morning shift at my second job tomorrow and I’m looking forward to it!
➣ I watched a few more episodes of Haikyuu today. I’m really enjoying it.
➣ I’m happy about seeing my mom and friend on Wednesday after work.

Today I'm happy because:

- I stayed focused and got a lot done at work, including clearing out most of my backed up emails.
- I got some laundry done so I don't have to worry about this weekend.
- I'm going to channel @/Shellzilla_515 for a minute. I saw a dark blue Corvette C6 and it was gorgeous! I see lots of Corvettes; they're not terribly uncommon where I live, but this make and color combination is one I've never seen before in person.
- I spent some quality time with my husband and my dog this evening.
- My husband and I are going to see the new Flash movie in theaters tomorrow. We'll probably go out to dinner too. Yay! Date night!
- I'm almost done with my Celebrating Diversity entry!

*⁀➷ i received my marks back for another couple of assignments, including one of my culminating assignments, and i got full marks on both!! i’m so happy about the culminating assignment mark and the feedback i got from my teacher on it omg that assignment had me stressing so bad, i literally winged the entire thing LOL; i’m so happy i did well on it!! <33

*⁀➷ @/Firesquids included my island rep in her wonderful celebrating diversity entry?? my jaw literally dropped when i saw it, it’s so well-done and amazing getting to see so many members of the community drawn together is so lovely, and i’m so honoured to be included

*⁀➷ i continued working on the final part of my last culminating assignment! i didn’t get as much done today as i would’ve liked to, but i’ve been working my butt off all week, so i think it’s okay to slow down for a day haha

Wasn't feeling super great today (I've been nursing a headache and my sleep issues finally caught up with me; I pretty much just did the absolute bare minimum and napped through most of the rest of the day ;; ), but I'm still happy about a few things!
☾ Saw some new art of a few of my comfort characters!!
☾ I watched a little bit of Youtube with my family this evening, and we got to see SmallishBeans' latest episode of New Life!
☾ I was able to play some Stardew Valley this evening too! I caught some more new fish (and some secret furniture wooo) and collected some of the Golden Walnuts that were really puzzling me ahaha.

I finally have my weekends off again. I did end up having to work my second job right after the first yesterday. Which kind of sucks, because it throws off my sleeping schedule the next day, but I am almost done with that job and soon I will never have to deal with them again.

I started playing New Horizon again and have all these ideas I want to try and have started preparing for some of them.

I haven't missed a day with my exercising and I hope to keep this up.

I ate some sushi after finishing my second job last night because I felt like it was appropriate to actually have a decent meal for a change.

My vegetable and fruit gardens are coming along nicely and the cactus seedlings are starting to get fuzzy needles on them.

You're almost there! I know how it feels. I remember not too long ago having so little time when all I did was work and study. It was no fun. But this won't be a permanent thing. Just keep at it and do your best! We're proud of your success!

Got some decluttering done, sold three plush (ironically, they were all Pikachus, three completely different buyers yesterday and today, suddenly everyone wants a Pika I guess There's one I may regret letting go of, the Kyoto exclusive one wearing a kimono, it's such a gorgeous plush but it just didn't match my room aesthetic at all, alas, the person who bought it seemed super happy so I think it found a nice home). Did a bit or rearranging and cleaning the room to reorganize now that there was some extra space. Plan on doing some more sorting/cleaning later tonight after I get some of my freelance work done.

Otherwise, I had planted some peas earlier in the spring (they were pre-shelled peas, and some of them were sprouting in the bag, so I felt too guilty to eat them and tossed them in a planter), and today I found my first little pod! It was small with only two peas, but I'm so glad to see they are growing up big and healthy. My strawberry plants are also getting little berries in already. The animals in the yard tend to eat them before they're ripe for picking, but just seeing my plants thrive makes me happy.

I went wedding dress shopping with my sister this morning:

She found a dress!!!! So exciting seeing all the wedding plans coming together….
