I wanted to participate in this, so I put together a quick collage of some of my favorite things from this past year! Going counter-clockwise from the top left:
I got a Switch 2 on release day, the first time I ever did that with a console!
I ended up beating 26 games this year. Of the games I played and beat for the first time, my top 3 favorites ended up being Outer Wilds, Astro Bot, and to a T!
I love the Oreo Dirt Pie Blizzard, so I was thrilled when Dairy Queen briefly brought it back in July!
I don't watch a lot of movies these days, but the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie ended up being really enjoyable to watch!
There were a fair number of moments from the world of sports that I enjoyed! I decided to highlight George Springer's home run in Game 7 of the ALCS that helped put the Blue Jays into the World Series, Canada winning the 4 Nations Face-Off, and Vasilevskiy's incredible save in OT that led to the Bolts beating the Oilers earlier this season!
My 2025 was pretty good now that I think about it.
- I started a new job. I left on good terms and just wanted a change. I'm still in the animal field, but instead of being a vet tech, I help match animals with new families and get them adopted. It's chaotic in a different way, but I love it just like I loved my past job. The 3 cats pictured are just one example of kids I help find forever homes for. These boys had their eyes removed for medical reasons, and I enjoyed feeding them cat lollipops :") I love them.
- My best friend gifted me her Steam Deck! I was asking her how it ran because I was planning on getting one, and she surprised me by mailing it to me! I literally cried. She's the best ever and I hope she likes the surprise I'm sending her.
- I celebrated a milestone birthday! My family surprised me at work with this nice cake and some balloons and gifts. Turning the age I am was scary, but it's not so bad.
- I got a new pet tarantula! My old man Pink Toe tarantula passed this year...He lived long and helped me get over my arachnophobia. I miss him dearly. A few months later I rescued this Curly Hair tarantula! Her name is Princess Gravy and she's lovely :")
- Christmas was nice as always! I really wanted to decorate my tree in purple lights this year, and I'm glad I tried it out. It looked great and I couldn't stop looking at it in awe!
25 is my lucky number, and 2025 surely wasn't horrible for me. Here's to 2026!
2025 has been a stressful year, I didn't accomplish much but this is how I found back a bit of my inner peace.
I traded my white feather for a Galaxy Egg! I liked the feather very much but also really really wanted that egg!
Gardening, I finally grew some daikon! ...but lost the picture... Mine were not as pretty but it was a beginning.
Watching anime again after a while, some old, some new, my theme was mostly Horror and/or Summer, plus Spy x Family 3.
Playing to Animal Crossing, always.
We discovered a new candle that smells so good, it's like being in a forest. Very soothing.
Of course, I visited the real forest too, and went hiking in fall to see the pretty colors
Also went to see the jellyfish at the aquarium , and befriended the stingrays , they were like excited puppies, so cute!
Watched the northern lights from my house.
We got early snow, unlike the previous years, so people also started decorating earlier, it was pretty and peaceful, I love snow.
Re-watching Stranger Things, and because I have a really bad memory, it's like watching something new. I didn't think I would be interested in that series at first, but I like the nostalgia and references to the 80' movies. A time where people were not glued to their cellphone. Haven't watched season 5 yet.
Got interested in the group Cortis after YouTube proposed me their MV, I didn't know what to think about them first, they are literally kids, but they are fun kids, it's like watching the nephews playing and doing silly things. I like Joyride and Lullaby.
It's been eleven days since the new year started which is the TBT-mandated cutoff date for reflecting on your favourite things from 2025. I genuinely enjoyed reading about everyone's favourite parts of 2025, their experiences and memories, and seeing all the pets included. Thank you so much for sharing!
I feel like I've been given game and book recommendations from these entries, and they have legitimately been convincing me that I need to buy a Labubu.
