What Are You Happy About Today?

-My strawberry garden is coming along. Well I don't have anything planted, but the grass is now dead. I threw tarp over it and it's all been cooked up and gone. I didn't want to have to till it all up and it saved me so much time.

-All of my planter boxes have started to yield good results and soon I will be harvesting them.

-My big pumpkin patch is really taking off. I wish I could take a picture to show off the big garden I have been making, but it's always raining when I have time to get around to it.

-I am building a stone deck by myself and I am kind of pleased at how well I am doing.

-My melon patch is doing great to. Cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, a few different odd variety types. My melon ballers would be proud.
 
Today's been another fantastic day in a series of fantastic days for me!

- The weather has been nice and I'm thinking of getting in the pool. 🌊

- About to play more Pokemon SoulSilver and Honkai: Star Rail. 🎮

- Work went well and wasn't too stressful. 📊

- The Texas Rangers just beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-1, sweeping them 3 games to 0, and have won 6 in a row now!! ⚾ 🔥 🤩

- I've just been in a really good mood lately. I don't know why. Maybe it's because instead of fighting against things as much I'm going with the flow more now and I appreciate things more. I feel like I'm finally at peace with myself as a person. :giggle: 💚
 
-my mouse that i bought off of ebay came today. it’s a logitech pop mouse and it looks really good with my matching keyboard as well as with my monitor that i bought during the prime day sales. im really happy with my set up even though its not complete (i want to get a few more things to add to it)

-played minecraft w/ my brother for a few hours

-drank iced tea lemonade that i saved from when i went to panera yesterday (ik this is a small thing but i actually forgot that i left it in the refrigerator, so it was a pleasant surprise lmao)

-playing acnl right now

today truthfully wasn’t the best day for me, but tomorrow’s a new day, and there’s still a few things i’m happy about! 🩵

*⁀➷ i’m going to see barbie tomorrow (thank you to the movie theatres here for showing movies the afternoon before their release date)!!!! 🩷 i have no words to explain just how excited i am to see it; i’ve been counting down the days for months now, i can’t believe i’ll be in a movie theatre this time tomorrow watching it!! 🤗

*⁀➷ i finally unboxed the table that my mom got me for christmas (we love procrastination lmao)! it’s shorter than i was expecting, but it looks nice, and it’s a folding table, so i didn’t have to assemble anything! it’ll give me a more sturdy place to put my ipad when i have my virtual meetings with my counsellors, as well as a place for me to do my makeup! i’m pretty content with it ☺️

I haven't checked in in a bit, lots of happy feelings all around over here, and it would be like a long list so just general happy things.

Besides the (wildfire) smoke/allergies/something????? (my sinuses have not been happy this week) the weather has been lovely, I have grown to really love summer and sunshine and being able to look at all the green and other colours in the yard.

I've been getting a lot of love and art of my OCs during Artfight. 🥺 I love my imaginary children so it always makes my day when people say nice things about them, and this is the month I can guiltlessly share them. I'm so ready for it to be over because it's an exhausting month of art and I miss drawing my own kids in my spare art time (and there is less guilt about taking time to finish revenges after the season is over, and I am very behind on revenges 😅), but it was a very good season this year. I'm glad I decided to participate even though I was leaning on not signing up at all.

I had mentioned a few weeks ago about picking up more hours at work, well, last week I was asked if I can take on even more. It's kind of really hampering my time to spend on art (and I kind of wish I had said I'd start them after AF ahaha), but alas, it's extra money in the bank and with the current economy I am grateful for that. Just gotta get better at balancing my time between freelance work, daily challenge art and personal 'destress and unwind' art.

Been talking to coworkers about a Japan trip next year, it's still all just talk, but talking is taking steps towards it actually happening. I had opted not to go this year because I didn't want to leave my cat for 3 weeks (which, may or may not be a problem next year??? My baby girl is still kicking and doing her best bless her), but considering my last vacation was in 2018-19 (over NYE), I am so ready to travel again. This is why I'm happy for the super padded paychecks too haha! Already checking flights every few days and once August roles around I'm gonna go back to brushing up my Japanese.

Also, small silly thing. Went up to my aunt and uncle's cottage on Sunday, and apparently one of the neighbours installed a chicken coop. Seeing a bunch of chicken and turkeys start waddling up to you is seriously the most adorable thing.
 
🧳 my partner is visiting me right now, and we’ve had a nice few days together with a few more to go! we saw some houses since we’re planning on moving in together, and one of them looked like a promising option. 🤞🏽

🍳 had a delicious eggs benedict with sun dried tomatoes and prosciutto today!

🍺 went to a brewery, had some beers + pizza, and played scrabble with my fam + partner. it was very peaceful and fun ❤️

🌎 really cursed news, but today a friend sent me an article about how neopets (my old love / enemy / childhood addiction) is re-vamping their site, starting with bringing back 50 beloved flash games this month. i’m not saying i’m gonna fall back down that rabbit hole, but i diiiiid recover my old accounts just in case… a girl’s gotta play let it slide, jolly jugglers, and ice cream machine again!!!

📝 i’m inspired to write again, and hope that i can get some done after all of the current social craziness is done. lotsa events going on over here!

☾ I've been seeing some teasers from Aksys regarding Radiant Tale and I'm hyped!! ;w; I can't believe it's already almost a week away! I might have to take a little break from Jack Jeanne after I finish the current route I'm on + one more because I'm really looking forward to playing Radiant Tale too.
☾ I got to read another volume of the One Piece manga today! Trying to get caught back up with the English releases again and I'm making decent progress on my backlog. 👍
☾ My parents and I watched InTheLittleWood's third New Life episode! My mom and I also saw Markiplier's final part of his Amnesia: The Bunker playthrough—I'm a little sad it's over but it was a ton of fun to watch him play! Hopefully we'll see some really good custom maps in the future.
☾ I caught Cobalion and Virizion in Pokémon White and completed the events at the Dragonspiral Tower!
 
What happened yesterday on 7/18/23:
- My mom cooked some yummy dinner.
- Watched Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 at the cinema with my mom and brother. It was a good film, and it was nice to go to the movies for the first time in a while.

What happened today on 7/19/23:
- The weather was nice, so I went for a quick walk outside.
- Read a book in the afternoon.
- Spent time with the cat and she was purring.
- Had a relaxing day playing video games.
 
➣ The game I’m playing is a Pokémon Crystal mod with the engine and graphics of Emerald/Fire Red. I’m enjoying it, even at the expense that no Pokémon will ever walk with me. I’m anticipating the stress that comes from facing Whitney and that Miltank, since that’s exactly where I left off last night. Her only redeeming quality is that she shares a name with my favorite cook, lmao. This gym is an absolute nightmare.
➣ My favorite person has been on vacation and I haven’t seen her for two weeks. I still have another week left and it’s really starting to get to me. She did send me a picture a few minutes ago, though. I love her so much. Considering the circumstances, I think I’m doing well functioning without her presence although we’ve been texting everyday.
➣ Camp Bell Tree officially starts tomorrow!! The hype is real.
 
The author of some of my all-time favourite fanfics just reached out to me and asked if I would like to be a co-author on her new story! I've been reading her work for nearly two years, so this is like a dream come true.

I'm also SUPER excited for Camp Bell Tree starting tomorrow, and I get to go to a script-writing workshop in the first two weeks of August, which was super hard to get into, there were nearly 4000 applications and only 500 slots, but here we are!
