Today's been an absolutely fantastic last day of the year!! I got up early AGAIN and covered for someone at work, last day I had to. I ended up growing and learning a lot in a way I wouldn't have been able to had I not received this opportunity. Then I came home and played games, and then pulled both Citlali, Mavuika, and their weapons in Genshin Impact without having to spend much money. I also was cooking ribs and thought I overcooked them, but they ended up turning out perfect! Last, but certainly not least, I got to hear from some of my friends today, which made me extremely happy. I love all of my friends and love talking and hanging out with them so much. Here's to an amazing 2025!!! ⭐ 🤩

Admittedly, this hasn't been the best year for me, but I realized I've only posted twice in this thread the entire year, so I want to try and put together a small list of things that have made me happy throughout 2024 off the top of my head:
  • I'm happy for the TBT community! I continue to be grateful that I am a moderator here and have been able to keep learning and growing throughout the year! I'm glad I'm able to interact with the community and help contribute to the events and towards making the forums a wonderful place to be!
  • In a similar vein, I'm very appreciative of all the Christmas Lights and gifts I ended up receiving from the community this month, in addition to all the birthday wishes I received back at the start of the year! I appreciate all the care and thought put into all the messages I've received!
  • I'm happy with the video games I managed to play this year! From revisiting some favorites, to replaying the entire Pikmin series, to playing some new ones like Echoes of Wisdom and Cult of the Lamb, there are a lot of single player games I've gotten to enjoy! As well, I've played a lot of various multiplayer games with both the TBT community and my best friend, and I always enjoy the time spent playing them with others!
  • After the disappointing end to last season and how unexpected the offseason was, I'm glad the Tampa Bay Lightning have gotten off to a good start so far this season! I'm hoping they can continue to keep this up as we enter 2025!
  • I'm grateful to my family for their support as I continue to search away for a new job, and also appreciate their company and the treats they pick up for me from time to time.
  • I appreciate all the gifts I've ended up receiving for my birthday and Christmas this year, including a new laptop! My previous laptop was 8 and a half years old and starting to struggle a bit, so I am really happy to have something that's a lot more powerful!
  • Last, but certainly not least, I'm really appreciative of my best friend for always being there for me! They always make me feel really happy and very special and are the sun in my life, always brightening up my world! I'm always thrilled to get to talk to and joke around with them every day and getting to play all sorts of games together! I'm eternally grateful and lucky to have them in my life!

Here's hoping 2025 will be a much happier year, not just for me but for everybody here! 😇

💙✨My highlights of 2024✨💙

I've been doing my yearly highlights of happiness since 2022, so wrapping up 2024 isn't different. It's gonna get pretty lengthy, so feel free to skim through these points. Here goes! I totally didn't spend a lot of time on this. No sireeeeeee.

January
  • For my first drawing of 2024, it was a birthday gift for S.J. along with other people here on TBT that were kind enough to help celebrate with their own drawings. 🎉

February
Easily the happiest month for me in 2024 and not enough words can describe it! It's because @/xSuperMario64x visited me and:
  • We ate various foods at various places. If I can remember from the top of my head, they were Korean Rice Hot Dogs, Jamaican Beef Patties, Tofu Sisig, Chicken Siopao, and Pancit Canton!
  • He gifted me a blue jay Squishmallow named Jay and a pink Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 which made me burst out laughing. :ROFLMAO:
1735704083250.png
  • Went to the Canadian International Auto Show. Oh my gosh, we saw a LOT of awesome cars there, including a great number that I was able to add to my identified cars list that appears in the Gran Turismo series! It's an understatement saying that it made me happy to see them because I never thought that I'd actually see them with my own eyes. Moreso with Bug! For those curious, I'll put in 17 cars in spoilers that joined the roster!

  • Bug and I got to meet @/Xara in person for the first time ever! I said this numerous times that her contagious laugh is something that I'll always remember (and also that one of the first things she said to me was "you're so tall" lol). We weren't able to meet Bonk, unfortunately, but gifting Xara some axolotl related stuff really brightened up her day. 🥹

March
  • Participating in the Farewell to New Leaf event. It's quite bittersweet waving goodbye to the online services for the 3DS and Wii U knowing that we'll never be able to play with each other in New Leaf ever again unless it's done locally (and if someone manages to create custom online servers someday). It felt surreal (and still does) that a major TBT event focused on New Leaf in 2024 considering New Horizons is mainly used for other major events since 2020. I didn't win anything significant, but I will always remember spending literally hours getting a really high score on Puzzle League! 🍃
1735698874004.png
  • Making a game purchase of buying Parappa the Rapper 2. Despite it releasing all the way back in 2001, truly getting into the series, and short in length, I had a really great time playing it. The music and charm stood out to me and almost as if I'm watching a cartoon with a silly plot lol. 🐶

April
  • This month marked the end of online servers for the Wii U and the 3DS. Since the Farewell to New Leaf event wrapped up not too long ago at this time, I grinded down the gold badge where you have to visit 500 dream towns. Thankfully, I was able to achieve that or else it would be impossible for me to get it at all! 🏅
  • The hybrid flower event where we watered each others posts to get a miniscule chance to get hybrid flower collectibles! I was (and still am) so happy being able to get the orange and blue hyacinths since they contrast each other really well.
  • Going to the buffet with my coworkers and enjoying lots of food they had there!

May
This month was tough for me, but other happy stuff that happened throughout May made it bearable for me.
  • This month marked a one year anniversary being in a romantic relationship with Bug. I'll keep things short and simple by saying that I'm so, so grateful to have him in my life.
  • The return of TBTWC after missing in action for three years! I really enjoyed the first edition in 2021 and the second edition in 2024 is no exception! Seeing visual cheers, getting along with other members within our teams, and of course, playing with each other across different games. Thank you for the fun memories, Poyo Puffs, Ha-chas, Yoshi Islanders, and Squirtle Squad. 🩷🩷💚🩵

  • Feel free to skip this point. Arguably the best car I've spotted in the wild while driving on public roads this year, the TVR Tuscan Speed Six takes the spot. Being able to spot a TVR at all is already a miracle, but to see one that appears in the Gran Turismo series? I legit almost teared up. 🥹

June
  • I remember making the perfect lineup for myself when pride month rolled around. If it weren't for the kindness of @/Firesquids and @/xSuperMario64x, I wouldn't be able to arrange the hearts in the right way to make the pan flag!
Colours.png
  • The Celebrating Diversity event made its return yet again and of course, I just had to participate! This year's prompt involved having to make a 3D craft and I decided to use clay. The thing is, it was my first time making a clay model in a very long time (the last time I did was years ago and it was very basic at best), but I looked up some pointers and tips before starting. While it's not the best looking, I still really liked the outcome. In case you're wondering, yes, he's still fine smiling and waving away. :giggle:
1735700251542.png
  • Doing an oil change on my father's car for the first time. It feels nice knowing that I'm taking good care of his car hehehe. 🔧
  • Feel free to skip this point. There was an outdoor car show that happened during the weekend. I had work that day, but thankfully finished early which was a blessing to me, because I wouldn't have seen more awesome cars otherwise. This includes those that I was able to recognize and add to my identified cars list! 😃

July
  • Finally having the opportunity to buy Ace Combat 7 - Skies Unknown after initially watching gameplay videos of it back in 2019!

August
I didn't post a lot in this thread during the month of August, but I can still remember some of them pretty well.
  • Feel free to skip this point. At work one day, one of my coworkers pointed out a Honda S2000. But it's not just any S2000. For the first time ever, I got to see one in colour blue! It made me absolutely ecstatic finally seeing it in an elusive colour lol.
  • For the third year in a row, I went to a carnival with my sister. Put it simply, we got to go on a bunch of rides, ate food, and saw a lot of animals!
  • Another highlight from the carnival is that there was this stall that had a HUGE variety of games that people are free to try out. Consoles such as the SNES, Gamecube, miniature arcade booths, Xbox 360, and even the PS5 was open for people to play. The games I got to try out were Duck Hunt, Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Forza Motorsport 4, and miraculously, Gran Turismo 7! The stall also had a PSVR2 headset with wheel and pedals and I just had to take the opportunity. Aside from motion sickness after a few minutes of driving, I was so blown away how immersive it was. The elevation changes felt so real going through undulations on the road. It also felt claustrophobic driving the 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport since I never got that same feeling when playing on a TV screen like I always have.
  • The TBT Fair! It was really fun taking part in the activities. What makes it really wholesome is that for canvas crossing where people draw an island representative, literally everyone who took part in the wonderous wardrobe activity got at least one drawing. While I don't know the exact number of participants, the community effort to make sure that no one gets left out is really amazing. What a wonderful way to celebrate TBT's 20th birthday! 🎉🎂
  • Staying on topic of the TBT Fair, I remember pouring so much effort into my magnificent memories entry. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised when I got nominated alongside 11 other people. 🥺
Magnificent-Memories.png
  • Celebrating yet another milestone of existing on my birthday! The celebration itself wasn't anything too special, but I did go to a mall with my mother and sister and ate lots of tasty food! I also remember getting Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door as a birthday present and enjoying it a lot.

September
  • Playing Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door. It's great finally getting to experience the game for myself after watching videos of it over a decade ago before the Wii U even came out. Thankfully, I didn't remember everything that happened in the game, so it was basically a first time experience for me enjoying the whole thing! 📜

October
  • A weird, silly point, but my fridge broke down at one point and I was able to fix it after going through a bunch of Youtube videos and trying to diagnose the problem. Turns out it was only the relay that went bad, so to replace a $14 part does huge wonders to save the fridge as opposed to throwing it out entirely and shelling out almost a couple thousand of dollars for a new one. ❄️
  • Discovering some great Japanese city pop music that my coworkers played in the background one time. Since then, I'm really digging the genre.
  • Feel free to skip this point. Spotting an Acura 3.2 CL Type S out in the wild. This rare car appears in the North American box art of Gran Turismo 3 and it made me extremely happy when I finally got to see one with my own eyes. 🥹
Acura 3.2 CL Type S.JPG

November
  • Educating a customer at work about their key fob and how it would sometimes need to be reprogrammed after replacing the battery. Thankfully, it was pretty simple to do and they were very happy and thankful for that!

December
  • Getting to pet a Shetland Sheepdog for the first time ever while I was at a mall one day after seeing them multiple times from the distance! It felt so fluffy and I was so cutified.
  • While I wasn't able to participate in the Season of Giving event as much as I would've liked, I still had some fun in a couple of activities where I did take part in. @/Mistreil's game first comes to mind where it had me suffering through the snowy maze, but also had me chuckling going through the dialogue lol.
  • The Secret Santa that was organized by @/Balverine! Signups initially started in November, but those who signed up eventually got their match including myself. I literally gasped when I was told that I'd be drawing for @/Suguri because it gave me a perfect opportunity to draw her cat OC, Crisp! It made me very happy when she really loved it and noticed the smaller details. 😊 As for myself, I was amused that @/-Mars- is my secret Santa considering that in 2023, it was the other way around! Don't worry, Mars. The drawing you made for me is in this post!
Suguri-Secret-Santa-Drawing.png

Other stuff that happened throughout the year
  • The various foods that I cooked and baked with my mother. There were a few times where our attempts wasn't as ideal, but they all tasted good regardless!
  • Not until some time after the end of TBTWC, @/Dunquixote started hosting sessions of Among Us. I've been able to join some of them along with many other people here on TBT! We've had some banter here and there, alongside some funny moments that happened.

I know @/.: Meri :., @/Xara, and @/BetsySundrop are trying to hide from @/Dunquixote who is the imposter, but you guys didn't have to huddle up behind half of my lifeless body lol.
1735703764154.png
  • Despite Gran Turismo 7 being released back in 2022, I still find myself playing this game throughout the year driving various cars, taking part in online time trials, online races during free trial periods, and other miscellaneous stuff. There were also updates throughout the year that added cars (including some that I've seen in real life lol) which made it pretty hype!
Underlined names indicate that I've seen them in real life! I may or may not have gotten the years wrong oops. From left to right, top to bottom, we have:
  1. 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth
  2. 2020 Porsche 911 Turbo S (992)

Back in July, there was an update to the driving physics. Though, there were some unintended side effects if you tuned the suspension in a specific way. This resulted in a car (in this case, the Volkswagen Sambabus Type 2), to either bounce or shoot up straight into the air at high speeds even when lightly applying brakes or gas. 🤣 Sadly, this funny glitch got patched out quickly after.

  • Feel free to skip this massive point. My oh my, 2024 has been an awesome year for me in terms of the amount and variety of cars I've spotted. Whether it's in an auto show or out in the wild on the roads, seeing cars gives me huge amounts of happiness, even if it's one that I already saw initially in previous years.
All these cars listed here? That's right, every single one of them have appeared in the Gran Turismo series! This also makes the asterisk redundant, but oh well lol.

  • Throughout the year, I've received various drawings of my animal villager OC, Pag-asa from a few members here on TBT!

I didn't post a lot in this thread during the month of August, but I can still remember some of them pretty well.

Spoiler alert! @/VillageDweller (named as Harry in-game) is the imposter!

I know @/.: Meri :., @/Xara, and @/BetsySundrop are trying to hide from @/Dunquixote who is the imposter, but you guys didn't have to huddle up behind half of my lifeless body lol.

  3. 1955 Mercedes-Benz W 196 R

A photo finish for 2nd place! Really great to have done it in the Ferrari F40. 🥈

Yes, this is possible in-game lol.

Drawn by @/Aquilla back when she had a craze of drawing humongous amount of characters doing the bongos. 🥁

It's been a very lengthy post, but if you made it to the very end, I applaud you. There may have been errors too hehehehe. There have been many ups and downs for me, but I'll remember a lot of these happy things for a very long time. Happy New Year and see you in 2025 everyone! 🎉🎊

Shellz, this is such a nice list! I'm really glad I got to read through all your highlights of the year. It definitely makes me smile to read.

There are so many heart-warming moments from 2024 in your post, from your one year anniversary with Bug, to just overall how wonderful February was for you! Also, that blue jay squishmallow is so adorable!

I'm so glad we were on the Squirtle Squad together this year! Mostly, I can never thank you enough for the picture you drew for me in January. It is so dear to my heart.

(I also enjoyed all your spoilers to see your list of cars this year!!) 😅🚗🚙🚘

Happy new year, everyone!! 🎉🎆 I am Sleepy but I wanted to post here before bed! I hope all of you have a lovely 2025!

Met a very sweet, friendly dog on our morning walk today!! He was so bouncy ;w;

I mostly just relaxed and worked on some personal projects a little bit here and there throughout the day!

My dad got me a non-alcoholic sparkling drink for New Year’s [cry] (I can’t have alcohol with my medications) It was white tea with cranberry and ginger, and it was really good!! I wish there’d been more of it ahahah

My parents and I watched GoodTimesWithScar’s new Hermitcraft episode this evening!

I also played a little bit of Pocket Camp while we waited for the New Year countdown to start!

I discovered Disventure Camp this year and while the fandom has its flaws, I’m happy that I was welcomed in with open arms. I can’t name a single character that isn’t relatable in some way.
  • My favorite character in the series is one that I heavily relate to. She’s Bipolar, like myself, and to see a character like me portrayed in a non-toxic way was quite refreshing. Her growth throughout the series made me feel more comfortable with myself.
  • I’m not sure if crediting an animation series for improvements to my mental health is the right move, but it’s definitely lent a hand.
  • I also did a thing... I had to get a custom keychain of her. Gabby.
Note: The spoiler below contains a picture of the keychain, and the character is holding a knife. I recommend not opening the spoiler if that sort of thing triggers you.
IMG_8430.jpeg

I labeled myself as non-binary this year. I’m in my late twenties and very late to the party, but I’m here now. I used to identify as trans before realizing male pronouns didn’t feel right.
I'm often referred to as she/her pronouns in real life because my chosen name is gender-neutral, which is something I had intended. I'm not bothered at all by she/her pronouns when accompanied by my chosen name. However, it bothers me when people use she/her pronouns with my deadname. I'm pretty sure that stems from invalidation. Like, I feel that people aren't truly accepting my identity when they use feminine pronouns with my deadname. It's a bit weird that I'm okay with the feminine pronouns otherwise, right?

I truly appreciate those who have been friendly towards me despite a few controversial things I may have said in the past. I was disassociating a lot then due to a few bad experiences and posted a few things I didn’t necessarily agree with myself. I can’t change the past, but just know that I’ve bettered myself, in my opinion. That’s what matters, right?

Suguri's Year in Review 2024!! p.s. this is my very first one!
The year of Kieran, TBT, newfound confidence, and love. Due to me being in a rush, I may not have covered all the highlights. Sorry!

January-April
Not much to say here! I rediscovered TBT around the beginning of 2024 and grew more interested in it as I spent my time here. You may notice in my earlier posts that I was way more obsessed with the Pokemon character Kieran than I am now; although he's still my all-time favorite character, my hyperfixation towards him lasted for about half a year, starting with when The Indigo Disk part of the Scarlet/Violet DLC was released and lessened around May-June.
  • EDIT: Here's a highlight from March I forgot about: my family and I took a trip to Washington, D.C. to see family! We toured a bunch of places such as a park with cherry blossom trees, and we went to a restaurant to eat Filipino food!
May
I befriended @ZeldaCrossing64 (aka Char)! They randomly drew one of my characters for me, and that was how our friendship began. Over the weeks, I developed romantic feelings for them, which I would keep hidden for a while.
1714700126040-png.558410

My fursona Crisp made her first TBT appearance in my art thread around that same month!

June
Around this month I confessed my feelings to Char! Actually, we'd already been saying "I love you" to each other before that but back then I assumed they were saying it because they saw me as a good friend, not as a romantic partner. (//w//) And so we began dating! 🫂💕

I also worked on my entry for Celebrating Diversity 2024. I included references to the fact that I'm on the spectrum as well as one of Char's old characters. I was surprised when my entry got picked as a staff favorite!
img_1054-jpeg.569817

In addition, I grouped up with Char and some other fellow TBTers (including @ShawnFuzz) for the Bug-Off in ACNH. I managed to get all the trophies with their help! I also participated in @/Mistreil's first ACNH Hide-and-Seek session and even though I lost I still had fun.

July-August
I participated in my first TBT Fair! I had fun with the activities and got a special Bluebird of Happiness plush from Char! 🥰💙 Magnificent Memories was my favorite activity from the Fair; I poured my heart into my entry, and Char's entry tugged at my heartstrings.
img_1213-jpeg.573466

September
By some stroke of luck, I rolled a Pale Wix Candy from the Friday the 13th yellow candy gacha for Char! 🩶 I even won a Cool Balloon from one of the Fair raffles! although I had to let it go later since I didn't have a good use for it...

October
I helped out with setting up the activities for the Halloween event using my physical coins from my prize pack! I got enough event currency from the activities to trade a Love Potion for a Pokéball! (thank you @Roxxy!)

November
Nothing eventful happened to me as I had school to deal with. But... I put a lot of effort into a drawing starring my OC Cosmew and I signed up for @/Balverine's Secret Santa Art Exchange!
scan20241120223945pa.jpg

December
I got @/xSuperMario64x as my match for the Art Exchange and got inspired to draw his two OCs in an art style inspired by the music video for "Celestial" by Ed Sheeran! @Shellzilla_515 was my secret Santa, and I love the drawing he made for me so much! 🧡

Thank you guys (especially Char) for everything, and I hope you all have a happy 2025! 🎉

Hey @Suguri, you have no idea how happy you have made me. You didn't just recognize for what happened hours ago... you actually remembered me from July.

I am honored! Thank you for remembering that I exist. Seriously...
Uhh?? July!? Haha! My brain is foggy so I couldn't remember if it was from June or July. XD But thank you for telling me!

And no problem! I wanted to complete a bunch of things on my island and you were a huge help alongside @/Mountain_Elements, @/ZeldaCrossing64, and @/futileberry1214. If Mountain_Elements hadn't thought of bringing us together, we wouldn't have gotten all the trophies! <3

I am pretty sure my brain is the foggy one! I think I just quoted your post wrong! I'm sure you are right with "June".

The point is that I appreciate being recognized by you, and I won't forget playing online with you all! It has been my most fun times on ACNH. I never get to play online with you all, or anyone! So it means so much!

This is why I love you guys... you included me and we had fun catching bugs! Silly reason, but means a lot to me!.

Happy new year!

Good things that happened for me during 2024:

  • I ended a year and a half long relationship a few months ago that wasn't working out, but on good terms and we're still friends and talk on the phone most days still, so it's nice to have a friend and not have to lose that aspect of our relationship
  • I'm still doing my volunteer job with the cat rescue and it's going really well!
  • I've learned a lot during my violin lessons and I feel I've improved a lot too, I also feel I've become more consistent with my practice
  • I also feel I've improved some in my art
  • I went to a cafe by myself twice and had coffee while sitting there inside the cafe by myself, which is huge because I have a lot of social anxiety so getting out and doing stuff by myself is really hard for me
  • Another thing I did was go see two movies at the theater by myself, I saw Deadpool and Wolverine and I saw the new Beetlejuice movie
  • I got my cat Mocha, he was really old when I got him and he passed in November so I really only had him for most of 2024 but I loved him and he was the sweetest little guy ever, I am grateful for having had him in my life even if it was only for a short time
  • I'm grateful my cat Mustachio is happy, healthy and doing well, and is as playful and mischevious as ever :)
  • I've gotten a lot better at taking my meds more consistently for my schizoaffective disorder/ bipolar
  • I started EMDR with my therapist for trauma and it seems to be helping
  • I'm doing a lot better with self care and stuff in general like keeping my apartment clean etc Just daily living stuff I've gotten better with
  • While I'm not exercising as much as I want to I have made an effort and have been doing more than I used to

I'm looking forward to making 2025 one of my best years yet! Happy New Years everyone :)

  • First of all, Happy New Year everyone! 🎉
  • Yesterday, I played 'Stray' for the first time. I enjoyed it, but I found it a little bit sad.
  • Watched Sir Elton John: Million Dollar Piano concert. Love that concert as he plays a few of his rarer tracks.
  • Bought Santa Saves Christmas from the Nintendo eShop.
  • Played some New Leaf. I bought some New Year hats from Isabelle and a Party Popper from Redd. Also, found out that the T and T Mart is getting an upgrade! It's closed today, so looking forward to seeing the upgrade tomorrow!
  • Bought some an envelope and mailbox collectible.
  • Blossom's new jumper fits her perfectly!
  • I bought something so silly, a reindeer costume! I can't wait until it arrives to see Blossom's face when I come in dressed as a reindeer! :ROFLMAO:
