Thoughts on custom “food” hats?

What do you think of custom hat designs that are supposed to look like food? As much as I like the idea, it’s hard for me to ignore the black stand at the bottom and the slight tilt of the plate/bowl.

It’s a creative substitute for displaying different foods, but I have the same issue you have with it. I’m certain that food items will return, though. Can’t wait

I don't find it too weird because it reminds me of how in Japan many restaurants have fake food displayed out front. I put these hat with food designs on stalls at the front then a counter next to it then behind them I put simple panels with food shelf designs which I think makes it look like these are displays of the real food that you can order like in Japan.

It doesn’t bother me, I think it’s the best way that we have right now to make “food.” I have a café that uses a couple of the cake ones.

I think it's really creative but I don't want to use a custom design slot on something I'm most likely gonna display 1 or 2 of on my island!

I feel like the hats work really well for cakes but not so much for items like soup that would be spilling IRL at that angle. The head forms kinda look like cake stands! I've found I've relied on the custom design hats less now that there are mom's cakes, wedding cakes, etc that can be displayed.

I think it looks pretty cool. Just pretend the food is glued inside the bowl and for display purposes only.

same thoughts! the fake food displays are the first thing that came to my mind when i saw people doing them tbh
most designs are creative and well made too! the people who first thought of using hats as food items/displays are so creative lol

I've seen a few that were a miss...but, for the most part, I like them.

It's great that people have the creativity to skirt around the in-game limitations.

I think it super creative even though you can tell it’s a hat. But seeing the pics of the food displays from Japan helps them make sense a bit more

Just so you know, I thought the same but custom clothing (including hats) are in a separate section from paths etc! So it’s not an issue unless you’re really into fashion.

Yes it is! I saw other people do it and thought it looked really nice so I used it for my island. The podium and den desk turned the other way look great as counters too. There is so much creativity in the AC community
