I never imagined I’d one day own double shooting stars! Everyone’s entries were so good too I loved them all.

Thanks to everyone who liked my entry I’m glad cramming all that cutting into a very short amount of time was worth it. (Also mostly my fault for procrastinating for too long. 😅)

Wonderful job as always staff and what a way to kick off the start to an event filled year. I really like the way you chose favourites for this event too. It’s nice to see a wide variety of names up there for even a small event like this one. :)

Congrats to all the winners! So many amazing entries as always.

I think I do like the non-overlapping winners thing! I wouldn't mind if that format sticks around. (I do agree we could have used MORE winners this time though, there were just too many good entries!!)

Huge congrats to all the winners!!! 🌠

Choosing staff faves is always hard and it was especially difficult to narrow it down to only 1 vote for each event. Let's just say my initial shortlists were...not very short at all. I cannot emphasize enough how truly talented you all are!

I was really glad to see this event pop up and jumped at the chance to be a part of it. Although I don't personally celebrate Lunar New Year, I adore it. There are so many beautiful traditions and I love the story of the zodiac animals! Thank you Fruits Basket for teaching me about it!

Whether you celebrate Lunar New Year in real life or not, I hope you enjoyed celebrating it here with us. Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous year ahead! 🐉

See you at the next event! Is it really only a week away?😱

Just a little side note for the unique winner system: I think a system with a set amount of unique winners would be good. If user XY wins multiple events it could still be recognized: 5 winners instead of 4. This way the hard work and amazing art would be honored and we still would have the same amount of unique winners!

Congrats to all those who won!! You did amazing and this was a great event... I would like it if we could have another Lunar New Year event, it would be a great chance to create more diverse and specialised line ups

Congratulations to all the winners! I would NOT be able to narrow down the selection of winners to just four with so many absolutely gorgeous entries to choose from! I feel so honored to see my lantern made it, I didn't expect it to pull through. The shooting star is so beautiful - I always kicked myself for not being more active during the fair when it was first released and consequently didn't expect I'd ever have one of my own. 🥳

At this point I'm just echoing what has already been said, but I like the new approach to selecting winners. In general I much prefer staff favorite picks, because it's a lot easier on the nerves as a participant. With community votes there seem to be many factors to consider outside of just giving it your best shot such as an entry getting lost in the later thread pages and limited visibility hindering vote exposure etc. The worst has got to be the double voting when entries are first filtered through staff favorites and then yet another voting going through the community. It's especially frustrating when the initial staff voting was cleared but then loosing during community voting, especially under circumstances like the last Christmas event.

No duplicate winners seems to be a good way to give more exposure to a greater variety of people which I think is awesome. Some events had the mechanism of more staff votes = more event currency, which is something to think about with this new format.

My only little gripe with this new method is that the pool of winners for each category seems really small. While the no-duplicate rule enables a greater variety of winners, the "only hosting staff members choose ONE winner each" rule really limits the amount and kinda contradicts the initial idea of having a greater variety of winners. Maybe I've gotten too spoiled the past events when there were easily 10+ winners for each category, but I still think it would be cool to have a larger winner pool. I don't think, as others have said, anyone would have an issue with that :D If double nominations are a thing of the past, it would still be nice to see an "honorable mentions" or something like that. Many of us pour several days worth of time into our entries and it's nice if this gets acknowledged.

Also: make dusting great again pls. It's tedious, yes, but it feels more like a community effort this way and doesn't create a rich vs poor divide.

This is actually what we did do for the majority of our staff favourite events 2020-2023. Even though we emphasised each time that we expanded the number of winners in some rounds to accommodate duplicates people would still complain about seeing duplicate names. This is why we went with unique winners this time.

"only hosting staff members choose ONE winner each" rule
This wasn't exactly a rule; it was just the outcome. We were the only staff members who expressed any interest in working on the LNY event.

I really like this new staff favorite method! Feels like a genuine honor to be given out. Congrats to the winners, insane stuff 🔥

Thank you for sharing your feedback. 🙏

A big congratulations to our winners! I'm happy that so many of you took the time to participate in one (or all) of the events. So many gorgeous entries! I loved reading your inspirations and stories for Flicker & Fortune. 💜

As difficult as it was to narrow down a single favorite per event, I personally like the more intimate aspect of it and hope to do something similar in the future.

🍃 Until next time!

Congratulations to all of the winners! The art was amazing, as usual. And ty staff for hosting this event, especially the draconic designs coloring page! Individual, (not repeated) winners seems like a good idea, I guess? I think it's nice to have more different winners. I'm glad I'm not responsible for choosing. Haha. I'd have a "winner's list" of about half the entries for some of these events!

Another Fruits Basket enjoyer! The lore behind the zodiac animals really is interesting isn’t it?

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask, but when exactly are the fortune cookies going to be trade able? I thought they would be by now…
