your towns name and why

I named my town CuteVila.

Reason: I want to make my town as cute as possible.. but i also love rock & roll music/style so I'm gonna try to make my town rock & roll as well even though it's not incorporated in the town name. xP

Cute thread! c: My current town's name is Ramen and it's the one I'm finally sticking with, lol. I've been through about three towns since release day (I had commitment issues) and I finally settled on a lazy, food & snack themed town and decided to name it after the cheap instant ramen I was eating. (My mayor's name is Pajama because it's cute and lazy sounding.)

First town was named Konoha from Naruto. Konoha roughly translated is Leaf. Leaf > New Leaf seemed perfect. When I reset my town I decided to go with one that wasn't as common and went with Lanayru which comes from The Legend of Zelda.

Started over again and my new permanent town is called Lilycove. It is a city name from the Hoenn region in the Pok?mon series. Lilycove's motto is Where the land ends and the sea begins which perfectly decribes AC towns and I want to have lots of water paths in my town so the name was too perfect to pass up.

On previous versions of AC, my towns would either be called Vacation (because I could escape to Vacation) or New York because I want to live in NY eventually.
This one though I struggled with. I wanted to name my town after something I liked, but not in a cheesy way. My favourite TV show is Supernatural, and in the show, Meg always calls Cas Clarence, so I decided to go with Clarence. I really like my town's name!

I'll copy and paste the answer that I gave on my tumblr when someone asked.

My town's name is ?clair.

I grew up in a communist third world country, both of my parents were doctors but made very little money. We were so poor that there often wasn’t enough food for all three of us to eat. Eventually my parents quit being doctors because their paychecks were not enough to sustain our family (they'd get paid less than $10 dollars a month, a single can of vienna sausages is worth $2 in my country.)

We don’t have the right to own private property, but my parents opened up an illegal bakery in hopes of improving our living conditions. And things actually improved, though only a little.

BUT ANYWAY. Their most popular desserts were ?clairs. I remember hating them as a kid because my parents worked themselves to the bone making those damn things. And also because a lot of the time I'd be eating them as snacks when there was nothing else to eat, so I guess that I was always just... really, really tired of them.

Now that I’m older I and that I'm finally aware of the sacrifices that my parents made to give me a better life I get all nostalgic whenever I eat them. I won't say that they're my favorite dessert because they're not. But they certainly hold a very special place in my heart, I care more about them than I care about any other food.

We live in the U.S now and I guess that you could say that we’re living the American Dream. My parents are finally getting paid what they deserve, we have our own home, and we never have to worry about food ; v ;

Since New Leaf is about new beginnings I sort of wanted to make an ode to my parents with that name ; v ;

My original town was named LaRousse- after a city found in the Pokemon anime based off of Vancouver, Canada. The town name I came up with after my original file corrupted was Rideaux- a combination of the name of the Rideau canal, and a play of the word 'redo'.

My first town's name was Polaris, simply because I liked the sound of it. Then my town's name is now Hyuki b/c I have friend named Jihyun, and another that likes to go by the name "Ki". So I mashed their names together. So essentially, it's kind of dedicated to them. cx
