your towns name and why

Mine is Guertena, it's an artist's name in a horror RPG called Ib.
I'm going to make an Ib town (with Kouri, Ib, Garry and Mary as residents) so I think it might the best fit d:

I've had different towns. The first was named Woodford (a town in England). After that it became Equinox (found it on the internet). Right now my town is called Panthera because I like big cats.

Oooo I've played Ib (multiple times so I could see all endings haha :P)
Anyone on the subject I named my town Redwood because I couldn't think of a good name at the time :(

Really?! That's neat but I support arsenal lol

Liverpool ftw xD

- - - Post Merge - - -

My first town was Nirvana, it means paradise, and they're one of my favourite bands!

Ohana was my second town because I love Disney

Dobutsu is my current because it's Japanese for animals.

My town is called Arkham because I suck at thinking up names for things >_> and my little brother just happened to be playing with his Batman Lego when I was setting up my town so I thought I'd name it after Arkham Asylum :)

well!!
my town name is Okuno because okunoshima wouldn't fit,,
i chose it because there is a tiny island off of the coast of japan called okunoshima!! so? its infested with rabbits. it's beautiful there and rabbits basically rule the island. look okunoshima up!! the videos you'll see of the rabbits there will melt your heart!!

My town's name is Wonder because at first I wanted to name it Wonderland but for obvious reasons I couldnt so because I am far from creative I left it at Wonder and now I regret it every single day...

mine's called vanille. i was drinking some vanilla-peach tea and felt uncreative, so i just went with vanille (german for "vanilla").
it kind of fits now that i'm trying to plant white flowers everywhere :3

Roseberg - my great-grandma (never knew her) committed suicide in 1930 due to horrendous circumstances caused by her husband, my g-grandpa. Still, she was very loved and loving despite the tragedies and hardships in her life. Her name was Rose, and there are still family members who remember her and how much they loved her. So I decided to name my Main town after her as a memorial to her.

Wolfberg - My paternal grandmother (never knew her, either, died 10 years before I was born) was REALLY messed-over by my grandfather and my dad grew up fatherless due to it. My grandfather was more or less directly responsible for the deaths of his first wife and twin children. Only his toddler daughter escaped with her life by fast-acting family members. When the rat-bas**** married my dad's mother 20 years later under a false name (he was an Army fugitive by that time as well) he left her, too, as my dad was being born. Mae was a real survivor and fighter. And her surname was Wolf.

Mae-Rose - combined the memories of Mae and Rose into one town name.

Maeville - named for Mae and Mayor is Betty-Ann, who is from the other side of my family. She died at 2 and 1/2 of leukemia, but is still remembered and loved.

So...sounds sad but I'm really not. I'm just naming my towns, one mayor (another has my own name, Laura) and secondary characters after ancestors, as well. Some are combined, such as Maud-Mae (my dreadful paternal grandfather's wives who both suffered and Maud died because of him). They were loved.

They live on in my family's memories and now in a very sweet way in this game.

I named my town "Panic" after a Muse song called "Panic Station". Whenever I first arrived the town, the message would say "You've arrived at Panic Station" (I believe) which is one of the lyrics from that said song. ^^

But if I had the chance to rename my town, it would be "Besaid Island" or "Besaid" itself after FFX. :3

I just wanted to say you have moved me.

Narnia. I was sitting there the first day I had NL, staring at the screen like "What the heck should I name my town??!?!?!?" I'd given no thought to it ahead of time, so I just put the first thing that popped into my head. I kinda regret it, since there are tons of other towns named Narnia and in fact at least one other person that's got the same mayor name and town name, but eh.

Town name is Hawaii because I love the place. Went there early last year and it was marvelous!

Well my town is called Kiwiland because my guy friend gave me the nickname Kiwi and I hadn't really thought through what I was going to name my town sooooo... :P

:) For all of you who were flummoxed as to what to name your towns...I feel for you! Now, whether you like the name or are rather "meh" about it, how do you feel now? For most of you, you named your towns for feelings you want it to inspire, and others for people, ideas, or places you love. Some just had to punch in something when Rover ambushed you with that question. Heck, that's what happened to me! He asked me and I was all...DUH... (This is my first AC game ever so I hadn't even considered the fact that I would get to NAME my town!)

And then I thought of all my recent family-history studies and made my huge wall of text post above. :) But I wonder if anyone is now unhappy with their choice?

Sorry, that is a derail to ask that here. I just wonder if anyone now regrets their town names or mayor names and have actually gotten fairly deep into the game and reset because of it. Maybe I'll start a thread on that.

I love this thread, tho. I love to know how and why people name their towns but never thought to actually come out and ask. So, kudos to the OP for starting this thread. :)

Wow that was the most personal emotional detailed reason for a town and the most touched comment about this by far I am truly touched by this thank you for sharing this.

Mine is Cloestar because that is my dogs nickname and I had no idea on what any other name to use. >.<
