Tsuville.. I really wanted -ville so had to have three letters in front of it and Tsu kind of worked.. I could have put Ț but I had no knowledge of that at the time.

Dex! It was the name of my town on the gamecube animal crossing and I've used for every town since.

Mine is called Otzville because my dogs name is Otto and my dad calls him Otzville for some reason haha, so it just made sense!!
For all of you who were flummoxed as to what to name your towns...I feel for you! Now, whether you like the name or are rather "meh" about it, how do you feel now? For most of you, you named your towns for feelings you want it to inspire, and others for people, ideas, or places you love. Some just had to punch in something when Rover ambushed you with that question. Heck, that's what happened to me! He asked me and I was all...DUH... (This is my first AC game ever so I hadn't even considered the fact that I would get to NAME my town!)
And then I thought of all my recent family-history studies and made my huge wall of text post above.
Sorry, that is a derail to ask that here. I just wonder if anyone now regrets their town names or mayor names and have actually gotten fairly deep into the game and reset because of it. Maybe I'll start a thread on that.
I love this thread, tho. I love to know how and why people name their towns but never thought to actually come out and ask. So, kudos to the OP for starting this thread.
Hmm, I do have to say I'd love to name my town something else, but I've grown too attached to it I think. Bluemoon sounds a little lame to me right now and as I said in my previous post, no one is active at night like I wanted it to because I have the beautiful ordinance instead of night owl. I am thinking about setting it, though... but watering those hordes of flowers everytime I TT would probably slip by me and I really don't want to lose my hybrids. Still though, Bluemoon is a part of my memories now, so... can't be anything else.
If I were to get a new town, I think I'd name it Mori, as a memory of the first AC game, Dobutsu no Mori - which I never played even, but I plan to. I am so unoriginal, I know. I just like the simplicity and the sound of it though. The other name I have in mind is Larron, which is the name of a city from the story I am working on. Though, both the name and the city in the story itself are rather negative, so maybe not. xD
As of my mayor name, I could've went with my nickname, but I wanted to immerse myself in the world of Animal Crossing even more, so I used one of my real name's forms.

At the time I had a re-obsession with Persona 3 series. And named my town Tatsumi after the P3's city called Tatsumi Port Island, course I couldn't fit that. I wanted to make the town Persona 3 themed at the beginning but as time went on I abandoned that idea. Even all my characters are named after P3 characters, I even made several P3 clothing designs and a Jack Frost flag.
I regret naming it that now only because I've grown bored with the name, and I wish I could have named it Port Island or something not so Japanese sounding.

My Wild World town's named Heaven, and my brother named it that.
I was about to put 'he's so unoriginal' but in my New Leaf game it's called Vale, the starting village in Golden Sun, one of my favorite video games and with the cutest fictional animal companions I've ever seen.

Ahhh! Another Golden Sun fan! I also considered naming my town Kalay or Imil. I also have Mia Robes~
Twerkvil, because ya know I am the Twerk team Captain and then it is fun to have all my villagers catchphrases and greetings being about twerking...
