I thought of this idea, came to TBT to make it, then saw there was already a ramen thread recently made, LOL. Still different enough that I feel that it's fine to post.

I found this video the other day:

and I tried the recipe in the video and it was really good. Ramen is cheap but it can easily get boring if you just eat it the normal way so share your favourite ways to mix things up!

wow, that recipe looks really good!!
if i have the ingredients, ill usually add one or more of the following:
- kimchi
- spam (diced and quickly panfried)
- siracha
- soy sauce
- any greens laying around, especially bok choy

ah now i want to eat some instant ramen ;w;

A fried egg is my favorite way to enhance instant ramen, but I'm also a fan of Sriracha, spicy mayo, green onion, etc.

I always add some type of protein (beef, pork, chicken, egg, or shrimp), veggies (chinese spinach, corn, mushroom, cabbage), and seasoning/garnish to taste (fish sauce, milk, green onion, sesame, seaweed, black pepper, chili, ginger).

Mainly just depends on what type of noodles. For instance with a broth type of noodle, I would add a bit of milk to make the broth creamy bc I prefer it that way in some kinds.
I tend to like very..very spicy..so if I'm making spicy noodles then the more you add the more it kind of dies down the spicy which is why I may add more chili and such.

elote is so flipping good, this is a fabulous idea, YUM!

i make miso ramen at home all the time and i usually do:

sauteed veg (peppers, corn, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, peas etc) with chili flakes, biiiit of butter and this outstanding miso curry paste i have. next, charred protein (tofu, shrimp, crab, etc) and a soft boiled egg on top. lots of pepper, garlic, umami and more miso curry to season. love using mungbean noodles or edamame noodles, good textures and nutrition and less carb bloating. finish with chives, celery leaves and fermented ginger !

It's nothing special like in the video but this is my go to for my ramen. I boil the pasta without the seasoning, then drain off all but a few spoon fills or so of the water. Just enough to sit around the noodles really. Then I mix in the seasoning, crack an egg in it, and then I cook it again. This time I cover it up to boil and steam the egg well, and it allows the noodles to really soak up the broth and get all soft and gooey and tasty!

add crab and egg to it, maybe some liquid seasoning, I basically transform it into Filipino pancit

lemme just say....i friggin love emmymadeinjapan. such a human with such poise!!!
i usually drained my instant ramen and just ate the noodles with the seasoning packet. when i wanted to be extra fancy id fry an egg with it. but i dont eat eggs no more...and i avoid ramen because it has way too much sodium :P

Sometimes I turn it into egg drop soup!

boil the noodles in stock/broth (or just add soy sauce to water) and then add scrambled eggs once it comes to a boil!

For sesame oil flavoured instant noodles, I like to add in extra sesame oil and an egg! Put the egg in near the end of the cook time to poach them.

I don't drink the soup so I can't say whether the oil adds to the flavour of the soup, but it definitely enhances the flavour of the noodles!

Pan fry onions and garlic with some dried Thai chili flakes and then cook everything else as normal! Pull the noodles out with some tongs and throw some shabu shabu beef straps and an egg yolk then pour the hot water over the top to gently cook the egg and beef!
I also like to add left over fresh mushrooms if I have them too ^-^

i pour the water out, fry the noodles in a pan, and add butter and salt
it's probably unhealthy, but my mom always made it this way

Here in Brazil, it's common to make instant noodles but don't eat them with the water it was used to prepare it. We have something here called requeijão. It's somewhat similar to cream cheese, but the consistency is different and it's a little bit more savory. With the noodles still steaming hot, we put one or two spoons of requeijão over the noodles, and some oregano and black pepper on it. I also like to add some parmesan cheese.
