What Are You Happy About Today?

Okay y'all... I got some major news!!! A few days ago during my break, we went to my cousin's house and I was introduced to a puppy my cousin wanted to give us. We declined at first because of the difficulties of raising a dog, but we ended up taking him in after another family who got him didn't want him anymore.

And so I introduce you to our new German shepherd, Rocky. I hope he can be a good and healthy dog under our care.

So, I wanted to update this by talking about Rocky! Man I really thought he was going to be permanent ever since we took him in yesterday, but my parents have had mixed feelings. They like him too, but they prefer a dog that’s less hyperactive.

So Rocky’s pretty much leaving tomorrow. I know it might be unfitting for me to post about something sad in this thread (I’ll be missing him, in fact), but I’m more happy because he has a permanent home and I got to experience a tiny bit of life as a pet caretaker.

The best part is that I have a permanent memory of him in the form of tiny holes in one of my pairs of pants; he tugged at them just recently. XD

Today wasn’t as good as I thought it’d be since my mood wasn’t the best, but a there are a couple things that I’m happy about .

@Zerous finished the artwork of a comfort character of mine. I’m absolutely blown away by the details ; I love it so much! Thank you so much again .

New monthly fortune cookies were stocked in Pocket Camp and one was Aurora’s Aquarium, which I needed and a few others that I wanted too! The new garden event started too and the limited time items were refreshed. There is a lot more that I want this time .

I completed the Aquarium set; had to use a card to get one item I was missing . Also completed the cinema set and the fortune telling set; had to trade my cards for the fortune telling five star item though.

I’m hoping that I can get more decorating done soon . I need to start organizing my inventory again and putting things in my storage when I have time too.

Thanks to a random post on Reddit I had a childhood memory unlocked today.

My Elementary School would play the national anthem and announcements together everyday at lunch time. One of the versions of the anthem was done by an a cappella group. I know what that is now but I didn’t as kid and thought it was just a fun silly version of the song. I haven’t heard this in like 15 years, plus my school has been gone now for 13 years…

- Successfully got through my 7 hour shift. That's probably the toughest one I'll have. Working again tomorrow but only for 5 hours in the afternoon, and then I have 4 days off. I feel like it went okay

- Weather is still warm

- Got some assurance about my pre-booked holidays, I've definitely got them all, so that's nice!

- I can't believe it's 1st May already, this year is going so fast. My birthday is in like 2 weeks

- Got home this afternoon, washed my hair, and had some shish kebab on pita with salad and tzatziki

- Managed to get quite a bit of sleep last night

One of my favourite people at work retired today. He has been one of my biggest supporters over the past few months of work nonsense - he was the one to set-up a meeting for me with my predecessor, advised me to join a union, and gave me the contact details for the union rep who attended my HR meeting. I gave him a card, in it thanking him for all his support, along with a £50 gift voucher that can be used at 100+ places. 2 minutes later he came down the corridor to thank me and shook my hand. He finished at lunchtime. At 4pm his senior came to thank me for doing something nice for him and said he was really touched by the gesture.

I came home and got a lot done around the house. My kitchen is no longer a disaster zone. That'll last 48hrs max.

My partner cancelled her plans for tonight because she's exhausted. She's in the tub with a candle and a book at the moment but says she wants to spend time together after. I wasn't expecting her home tonight but I'm not complaining.

☾ I made some really good progress on an art project, and I'm almost done with it now! I’ll probably finish it up early next week, or maybe tomorrow/over the weekend if I’m feeling like it! (❁´◡`❁)

☾ Watched some Youtube videos with my parents, including SmallishBeans’ latest episode of Hermitcraft!

Today was okay! I didn’t get as much done as I wanted to yet but that is okay. My mood has been a little better today.

I think I got unstuck on this one part of my easter egg drawing; I’ve been kinda procrastinating too because I really wasn’t looking forward to drawing in this second wing even though most of it is hidden. I’m not sure though if I got it looking perfectly; will have to see once I get the rest of it drawn, colored and shaded.

Yesterday I had to redo a bit on my character that I’m trying to make. I think it’s okay for now, or at least for this drawing since it’s going to just be a reference sheet and my first attempt to get my ideas for her down. It was going to be just one outfit but I think I might try a few others. Since I’m still struggling to get ideas out for this one, maybe just sketch out the other ideas on the other part of the canvas got to draw it smaller since the one I started is taking up the center of the page).

Jewels snuggled a little with me tonight and Spanky snuggled a little with me earlier.

Last night I used my complete tickets in Pocket Camp and I got one new item that I might be using with my campsite setup that has been in WIP .

Yesterday I got my dailies done for the first time in awhile for Genshin.

I got Rover’s photo in the mail today. (In ACNH.) This is the second May Day tour I’ve been on. I had fun with the maze but I just followed a guide step by step to solve it. I was happy to see Rover again. My heart melted when he actually recognized me and told me that he remembered me. I took a screenshot of me sitting with Rover by his campfire. Anyways…
I’m excited to go looking for a scorpion tonight. I meant to do so last night but I got home late from work because there was traffic. By the time I made it home it was getting late so I just decided to not do it.

We got a free piece of equipment at work today. Downside, I had to build it myself. I've a disability that impacts my dominant hand. I succeeded in building it but ow, I'm paying for it. Glad I was forced to take a break when the labs on either side of the room I was working in were being used for exams - can't be hammering through those!

For the third time this week I ran into the head of service (the big boss) while taking a walk on my break. I like that he always makes a point of speaking to me when he does. In my previous job I don't think the site director spoke to me even once or knew my name. His wife was my line manager too. I was just another pipette monkey there.

I'm home alone tonight and grateful for some space. Cooked dinner, had a glass of wine, and now it is just chilling with my boys until bedtime. ️

- me and my partner went for dinner the other night at the old spaghetti factory. We've been busy lately so it was nice to go out together

- my partner only has 1 month of school left before they start work experience

- we've been cleaning the blinds and windows all morning & wiping the walls. Just general spring cleaning stuff.

made plans to hangout with @/chere and @/irescien !!!!!!!! going to an art maker with irescien, my sister, and her friend on sunday & then going to the mall with chere on monday ✩٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و

the party has grown! chere and my sister's friend are also tagging along to the market hehe

as for today:

• we were just short 0.40¢ which was a relief, though balancing all the registers were a pain since we don't have many $5 or $10 bills in the change box but!!! it's okay, we will make due until the coin order arrives on wednesday
• it was a longer shift today, scheduled until 2PM which is pretty high traffic hours but i managed to get all my recovery done!!!! i was able to clean up my section, organized my censors and hangers
• they had cobs bread pastries in the lounge room for us; i think it was some apple pie thing and i'm not sure what the second box held... some raspberry thing? i only took a small piece of the apple pie one (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑) can never go wrong with cobs
• i finished a silly drawing :>
• i ordered an art print and sticker sheet! i do my christmas shopping throughout the year and then hoard it all until it's time to gift them away
• it's hair wash day so i feel extra clean
• i made a new playlist on spotify and have been enjoying my jams heheh

☾ I caught up with all the One Piece manga volumes that are currently out in English and ohhh my god wdym the next volume isn't out until July and also managed to talk my parents into watching the new One Piece episode right away since it’s already out/we'll be busy tomorrow!! I’m so hyped for next weekend’s now omggg

☾ We also watched some Youtube videos, including a GoodTimesWithScar Hermitcraft episode!!

Today has been decent.

I’ve been mostly working on my character ideas and I got myself to use shapes again and they’ve been a huge help. I think I’m starting to understand the process better. I think I’m happy about how my second idea for an outfit is coming along.

I got some more goodies in Pocket Camp earlier (spent way too many leaf tokens ) and I’m all caught up for now with the event except for the goals (like harvesting and planting x times).

That’s it for now . I might work on a different drawing some and I still got some dailies to do in a game. Still not quite feeling it since I’m still struggling with a lot of stuff but it was nice playing it a little bit again for the last two days.

Two lil things that happened to me on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday, I was coming back from work, and the way I go home, I pass by a primary school's outside area they go out to play. Most of the fencing is covered in plants, something most of our primary schools to do to stop people watching kids; with some small patches not covered in green.
Anyways, I'm walking pass, on the opposite side and I see all these kids near the fence, and then I see the ball on the road. I noticed later but they were calling out to anyone toget the ball.

I ran towards the ball to pick it up, and they all started cheering as I came over and through it over their fence.
The cheering and them thanking me made me feel so better, giving me a spring in my step~

Friday on the way to work, I walk past this fenced field - part of a private schools field - and I see one of the crows I feed in there, and I threw in some bread for them.

A few feet away, on the pavement there's some water that came from the field (they like to use sprinklers in this heat), and I saw the crow with some bread in his mouth flew over the fence and went to the water.

The crow then dunked his bread in the water and omg I thought that was SO clever!!!
The water wasn't easy for them to drink so they dunked the bread in it to soak the water up as they ate!
I love these crows so much

- New job has been going ok! But today I'm happy because I've got 4 days off!

- Been getting back into reading

- Ate some delicious food today - Indian paneer curry w/ rice, onion bhaji, pickled veg, veggie samosas, mango chutney, poppadom And then fresh cream doughnuts with coffee!

- Another lovely day, not too hot or cold, so I could hang my washing out to dry

- Made plans with my friend to go get ice cream next week
