I’m happy I got a lot done today! Cut back 4/7 decorative grass bushes to prepare them for growing this year, checked my hydrangea soil pH - still not acidic enough at 5.5…it needs to be 4.0-5.0, so I’ll add more acidifier tomorrow and check again in two weeks. Managed to squeeze some work in today, which was good since there weren’t many projects available whenever I checked today. Nicholas is doing well with his spinal stim and bless his heart, I told him we were going to go downstairs and he said, “Okay mommy, I want to walk on my feet.” He can’t, but we will hope.
yesterday: my friend and I celebrated my belated birthday at an Italian fine dining restaurant that I've been wanting to visit for awhile, and it was her treat. it was great to catch up, and we had the most amazing meal!! it's likely one of the top meals i've had in my life. and she gifted me a board game and a wallet.
today: the weather felt like spring - it was warm and sunny. a work buddy of mine and I met up for coffee. we're remote and live in different cities, so it was great to see each other in-person for the first time and get to know each other better! also, I hit up a bookstore that I've been wanting to visit; bought some hotcakes from my go-to place; and grabbed lunch with my brother.
sasha and the lord of the rings trilogy (my ivy plants) have started to grow some new shoots!! also played some more omori earlier and read + listened to some more of garth marenghi's incarcerat.
Today was a great day off . The weather was fantastic. We took Aurora to a St. Patrick’s Festival since I have to work tomorrow. We had a lot of fun. Aurora played with a few dogs.

- I got to sleep in today and played a BUNCH of Honkai: Star Rail. Worked on building Pela in preparation for the release of Acheron.
- I fed my kitties their special food and let my favorite into my room.
- The Dallas STARS just defeated the LA Kings 4-1!! Staying on pace for winning the NHL Central Division. Not too many games left before the playoffs now!
Family came together and pitched in to celebrate my mothes's birthday today. It was actually really enjoyable. My mom also really loved the gift I gave her.
☾ Watched another episode of Hunter x Hunter this morning with my family! I’m really enjoying the Greed Island arc so far.
☾ I played through Day 7 in Cozy Grove! I was actually able to finish Billweather’s quest this time lol, caught my first couple flies, met Darla O’Hare (there is actually pastel green hair in this game YES), and one of my birds grew up!
☾ I watched Dollightful’s new Sketch With Me video!! I’m also happy to see I’m not the only one who sketches in pencil first and then correct the issues with it in an art program later lol
☾ Also did some sketching of my own! I’m working on designing a character and I’m happy with how it’s turning out!!
☾ I?? Somehow came in 1st place in the second New Leaf trivia session??? I’m still kind of in disbelief tbh, and probably will be until the 1st-3rd place points/prizes are sent out asjdfklgd
☾ And after the trivia ended my parents and I watched Grian’s new Hermitcraft episode over dinner!!
tomorrow (i guess technically today cus it's 1:30AM) is my 2nd to last shift at my super crappy job that's been making me incredibly depressed hell yeah
Today is my boyfriends birthday and I woke up at midnight just to be the first person to tell him happy birthday he was really happy and I’m super excited to make his day special
I’m also off of work today which is always amazing. I’m gonna be so lazy
im happy because ive really enjoyed the new leaf event and its the most ive ever participated in an event here, and because i got some collectables i really wanted and my lineup is nice now ^_^

☆ We had two of our friends over to play a couple of rounds of the board game Pandemic.
☆ One of them gifted me a Highland cow rubber duck! We had seen it in a gift shop window the week before, but it was 9 PM so the shop was closed. I'm so touched that she went back to get him for me!
Saturday 16th 2024
☆ Our friends had stayed overnight, so we spent a couple of hours the next morning drinking tea and chatting.
☆ My partner and I had lunch with my parents in the afternoon. I had steak with a baked potato and peppercorn sauce.
☆ On the train to the town my parents live in we passed a number of farms. There were Highland cows right up against the fence!
Sunday 17th 2024
☆ I've been in pain since Saturday morning, but today it was bad enough that I struggled to get off the couch without help. My girlfriend has been absolutely wonderful in response. I had to bail on seeing our friends, and she chose to stay home with me over going out. Today she has made me multiple hot water bottles and copious cups of tea, managed my painkillers, went out for gingerale, helped me in and out of the bath, fed the animals, and cooked me dinner. I'm very lucky to have her.
☆ I was sad and wanted to be nice to myself. So I ordered sushi for lunch and bought Pokémon Legends Arceus digitally (so I could begin playing right away). I picked Cyndaquil as my starter.
☆ This evening my partner and I played board games together. We played Pandemic, Hive, and Hanabi.
☾ I was being nosy at the store and noticed the new flavors of Mountain Dew inside the cooler. They aren't displayed yet but they exist. THEY EXIST. ☾ I finished work a little early tonight and decided to rewatch Haikyuu!! I'm halfway through the first season and am enjoying it once again. ☾ The NHL playoffs are starting soon. I'm hoping the Kings can have a more favorable first round matchup by falling to a wild card. The Oilers are not it. ☾ I'm getting paid on Thursday! I mention it now because this will be my biggest paycheck yet for this job. I had a few extra shifts this week and OT the week prior. ☾ I can sleep in tomorrow. It's much needed rest after these long shifts. I also have off on Tuesday, so there's that. I can binge some Haikyuu!! then.
