Today was a good productive day . Had an early half day at work but got a lot done. Went to bed early last night so slept better then I usually do. Management was worried about having a visit today but it went really well. The store manager had a BBQ lunch for everyone.
It was a really nice day so we took Aurora to the park for her afternoon walk. We saw a bunny while we were there.

Played some ACNH and received Anicotti’s photo on Harmony . Finally completed the Smile Isle Nook Mile Achievement in Serenity.
Had a nice relaxing evening. As tomorrow is my long 12hour shift.

Yesterday:
- The suitcase I ordered for my mum's birthday present arrived early and just before I had to leave for work!

- Work was surprisingly ok, but still exhausting! Mostly bc I was working with people I get along with

- Been doing some backpacking planning/budgeting for Australia + New Zealand and seems like if all goes to plan in the next couple of years I'll have enough money to do the things I want

Today:
- It's actually fairly sunny right now

- Had a good sleep last night

- Skipped university because of a family matter, which means I have a day to (mostly) relax a little

- Received the details for a campus tour & meet on Monday. I'm meeting the entire faculty for a program as part of my interview process for a post-secondary role, so it's looking like a good sign!

And, in the evening, me and my two friends were gonna play mindcraft but i was having difficulty gettng it on my laptop, so one of them facetimed and tried his best to help me; all the while we're chattin all togethr on the group chat and having such a laugh.
I havent laighed this hard in such a long time, I was on the floor, and my throat was awful.

I now feel utterly drained though

☾ My new computer mouse is here!! Just waiting on the mousepad now and I’ll be ready to get it all set up!

☾ We’ve gotten some better dishes and cooking utensils recently (replacing anything plastic-y with wood, glass, and stainless steel, also getting rid of worn out dishes and replacing them with ones that takes up less space, and we’ve got prettier plates too), and we were able to donate another car load of stuff today! I was hoping to go thrifting for clothes but it was rainy and I didn’t want to try on clothes soaking wet ;;

☾ My parents and I got to watch SolidarityGaming’s Minecraft Hide and Seek video!! He did a great job with his build, even if people kept getting stuck everywhere

☾ We hit 1500 Red Envelopes today and we're not terribly far from 1750!! At best it's gonna be super close with only another day left, but I'm really hoping we'll be able to hit the last milestone in time

College kept me busy for weeks and a part-time job to go along with it, so I was away from TBT for quite some time. I'm glad that I get a breather for a week to relax, especially when my mental health was tanking significantly. I'll mention a couple of things that happened since plus some stuff for today.

Mid-January to mid-February 2024

• On some days, my mother baked goodies. If I can remember from the top of my head, they were blueberry pie, apple pie, and some croissants! However, she tried making cinnamon buns for the first time ever and oh my goodness it tasted so amazing that not enough words can describe it. It also made me happy with the fact that she's been making good use of the hand mixer I gifted to her at the beginning of the year.
• Feel free to skip this point. Yes, even while I was gone, I still spotted a handful of interesting cars. Two of them were near my college, which are the sixth-generation Toyota Celica and the 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302! For the latter, I was quite unsure and just shrugged it off like any other Mustang, especially when it was heavily modified for track racing. But one day, the hood was open and looked at the engine bay that looked roughly like this. I was basically like, "okay, this is pretty cool as it appeared in a certain video game". Anyway, the last car to mention is a second-generation Audi TT! It was yet another one of those vehicles that quickly zipped past through an intersection lol.
• I took advantage of the counselling services that my college provided. I really needed someone to talk to in person just laying out my thoughts and coming up with solutions to make myself feel better both physically and mentally. Juggling between studies and work with only one day off per week can be real draining.
• At one point, there was a short period of free online on Playstation over the weekend, so I took advantage of that and participated in a few online races against other people in Gran Turismo 7. I managed to get a couple of podiums and even a win! It was made better with the fact that I had to use a car that I created a livery on a couple of years ago back in GT Sport (which by the way, had its online servers closed down in late January rip), so it felt nice while also showcasing my not so very noob driving skills.

While this screenshot shows that I finished in 4th, I'll never get tired of seeing baby shark on the back of my racing suit (yes, I unironically like it on there) and a drawing of Blue made by @/Roxxy on the back of my racing helmet. And for once, the "Honda The Power of Dreams" actually fits the car I drove haha.

February 23, 2024

• The weather was pretty sunny today. I'll soak up the rays of sunlight whenever I can.
• I had to do a midterm in one of my classes and I'm very relieved that I did really good on it considering there were lots of questions I had to answer. What a great way to wrap up college before my week long break!
• I know I already mentioned it a couple of times in this post, but I'm very happy to get a week to relax from college. Not only that, but I also requested two weekends off from work well in advance, so I don't have to worry about that either!
• For this last point, some of you guys may already know this, but @/xSuperMario64x has come to visit Canada yet again! I'll actually be meeting him tomorrow (or today or whenever you're reading this post) for the first time since October of last year and I'm soooooo excited! We got a bunch of things planned for tomorrow and throughout next week, so it'll be rad!

Sunday 18th February

• I spent the afternoon building a Lego butterfly.

• Changed the sheets on the bed to this new set my girlfriend's mother bought us. It's cute and it makes her happy.

• My girlfriend treated me to aromatic duck for dinner.
• We came into some extra money and used some of it to order a new fish tank! I've been looking forward to this since September.

Monday 19th February

• Started my new job! This was nerve-wracking, as it's very different from any job I've ever had. Almost all of my experience is in private molecular biology laboratories, whereas my new role is in the public sector.
• I made steak tacos for dinner. I'll sound arrogant here, but I've not found anywhere near me that makes tacos even half as good as I can make them at home.

Tuesday 20th February

• I spent the morning doing chemistry for the first time in years. I was surprised I still knew how to carry out distillations and titrations without too much guidance. I enjoyed it, especially as chemistry is visually the prettiest science. I also got through my training quite quickly and was able to help someone out by preparing acids and alkalis and they were extremely grateful!

Wednesday 21st February

• Got my base location assigned and of thirty-three potential locations in the city I got the one I wanted!
• Biology training: what my background is in! We got through my training assignments very quickly, so after that I ended up helping the person training me prepare agar plates for a microbiology course she's running.
• I was formally introduced to all of the staff in the science department. They were all gathered in the break room at the time and they clapped and cheered when it was announced I was joining them permanently rather than just being there for the training week. I have never had a reception like that at any job before - ever!
• We were also given an unexpectedly large sum of money for the department on the condition it be spent the same day, and a good chunk of it went into the spaces I'll be managing.

Thursday 22nd February

• Carried out physics experiments and a refresher on microscopy. I was dreading physics because it is considered the most difficult science and I've no experience in it, but it was actually very interesting! And I've always enjoyed microscopy. We just needed something quick to look at as the task was more about the equipment rather than analysis, so I made cheek cell slides.
• Again got through the training quite quickly, so I spent more time preparing chemistry resources. Now that I know I'm based in this location it'll be my job to manage the science stores, so I'm doing myself a favour here by getting ahead.
• Went out to a board game event in the evening. It was much quieter than usual but a number of my friends were there so I had a good time regardless!

Friday 23rd February

• I was in the electronics workshop learning how to solder and rewire plugs! I enjoyed it so much I spent my lunch break looking at soldering kits on Amazon.
• I was shown my new office! I'm beyond thrilled - I've always worked in open-plan offices until now. It is absolute chaos and needs to be gutted/reorganised, and there are plants in some dire need of love, but I'm really pleased with the space. I've also been asked if I'd be interested in establishing and maintaining a fish tank for the department and I of course said yes! There's a tank somewhere in one of the stores that I need to find/clean (it was dismantled at the start of the pandemic), then I can think about what to stock it with. I already know I'm going to bring in some clippings from my own aquatic plants.
• Came home, ordered a takeaway, and spent the evening baking cupcakes with my girlfriend. We made both lemon and coffee cupcakes. I was on frosting duty.

• My boyfriend got me a Your Lie in April shirt, which is a manga and anime series, it's of one of the main characters who's a violinist (I play violin) and I love it
• Mocha and Mustachio are doing well. Mocha is still pretty shy but she does let me per her, the other day I was petting her and she was purring like crazy she was so happy
• I started a 100 day challenge for practicing violin and ukulele every day for 100 days!
• Music has been helping my anxiety and mood, I started having a panic attack yesterday and I immediately threw myself into practicing Bachs Minuet in G Major on ukulele and it stopped the panic attack and made me feel better
• I've started sketching more
• I cooked spaghetti and Italian sausage yesterday
• The med increase my psychiatrist did is helping my bipolar symptoms and I'm finally actually sleeping
• I'm looking forward to St. Patricks Day, every year I make homemade Shamrock shakes and they're so good
• I've been meditating every single day and it's been helping my anxiety and mood a lot
• I've cut back my social media use (facebook) deleted the app on my phone and only check it for 1-2 minutes a day on my laptop and I feel a lot less stressed due to that

Someone complained about my dog being in the workplace, saying she's allergic to dogs. The governer told her "Well I'm allergic to you" and grinned at her. Never even seen her come in before anyway and highly doubt she lives around here, so why would you just come and bully my dog, who is minding her own business, pottering about and occasionally lapping up spilled beer? I was happy he just shut her down and didn't allow it to become a whole thing. She still ordered a small glass of rosé anyway. Though she knocked it back pretty quick and left without making eye contact lmao

☾ I watched an episode of Hunter x Hunter this morning with my parents, and later we got to see LDShadowLady’s first episode of a new Hardcore Minecraft SMP (which was absolutely wild oml). Between this and Hermitcraft we’re gonna have so much Youtube to watch.

☾ Also got to see Dollightful’s recent lovecore-themed belated Valentine’s Day doll custom, and the aptly-named Valentine looks gorgeous!! I love her whole design but the heart-shaped baby hairs are such a cute feature!!

☾ My pins of my Rune Factory 4 husband, Arthur, arrived safely today!! ;v; I’m very happy to finally have some official merch of him and they all look great!

☾ I’m not normally interested in otome streams/playthroughs, but I gave in to the temptation to watch a reaction compilation to Fumi’s route in Jack Jeanne and I’m so glad I did, the reactions were incredible and I was in hysterics for nearly the entire video I'm gonna get back to finishing Kai's route soon I stg

All right, today was an amazing day! Quite some stuff to talk about.

• Despite the temperatures being very cold which I actually really like, it was sunny and absolutely clear for the entire day I love the sunshine!
• I got to do some cleaning around the house and it made me feel good.
• I finally got to meet @/xSuperMario64x again! We got to chill out at the park and chatted with each other quite a bit. Bug brought his laptop and showed me some of his art with some layers removed, giving me a new perspective on them (and how cool it is!). Not only that, but he also brought a couple of Sambabus Hotwheels with him hehehe.

The one on the far left is the one I gave to Bug when he visited me last year. As for the one with Mario themed around it, I was pleasantly surprised he brought it with him as it's the one he owns (though, he did share a couple of pics of it on discord). And of course, I had a couple of cars from my collection lined up too with the spaceship Porsche Taycan Turbo S and the almighty Honda S2000 hehe.

• Feel free to skip this point. No new cars to mention, but more of something I wanted Bug to know during the drive since he puts his attention on the road. I witnessed a sixth-generation Ford Mustang GT, a third-generation Ford Focus ST, and a Honda Civic Type R (FK8)!
• After chilling in the park, I treated Bug to some food from my culture! We had lumpia togue (basically springrolls with vegetables inside), chicken asado siopao, and buchi with red bean filling (except it was coated with granulated sugar as opposed to sesame seeds)! We were both hoping to buy some taho too, but apparently this one place we went to only sells them during summer which I don't get at all. I'm sure we'll find a different place soon enough where they do sell them.
• Had tasty dinner that my mother made. She also got around to making cinnamon buns again.
• Played a little bit of Gran Turismo 7.

I am so so so excited for tomorrow! Me and Bug are gonna go somewhere, but I won't spoil the details yet. Hint: It's something that I keep talking about in my happy posts lol.

- Got to sleep in, which was much needed after the long week I had.

- Cuddled with my kitty and snapped some photos of her too! I also fed her and my other kitty their special food today.

- The Dallas STARS just defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 in North Carolina and snapped their 4-game losing streak to stay in 1st in the NHL Central Division for now!!!

- I finished Pokemon Violet for the final time with my legendary/mythical team! I also completed the Teal Mask DLC on it, so when I play again all I'll have left is the Blueberry Academy DLC and epilogue. My Pokemon time will be winding down because of this and it'll free up time for other games/anime.

- Glad to see the dedication and effort everyone's put into reaching the final goal for the Red Riches event! You all are amazing!

I am super happy that the community was able to unlock all the wands in Red Riches event.

I did end up using 7K to help the community to the best of my community, but we were able to complete the event well before the 5AM deadline that was given. We even reached it before midnight!

Well done to all of those in our community that helped out to the best of their ability.

we had a roommate dinner today with harissa chicken bake and it was so delicious!! I'm so lucky to have met my roommates they're so nice and we cook together and hang out and i feel so supported and fulfilled.
