What Are You Happy About Today?

Yesterday:
- I went thrift shopping with my mom and aunt. Also, I bought some Ohuhu markers at the art store.
- Ate some food from Chik-Fil-A for the first time in a while.

Today:
- I had a nice and savory dinner, especially the soup.
- Worked on some sketches and practiced blending my markers.
- Defeated the spider boss in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
- Looking forward to this year's Egg Decorating Event.

I'm using a very controlled tone exactly so it doesn't become that. 😂

Very hard to do when you throw in a love story heavily interwoven into the main plots beats. When I was younger I predominantly wrote romances, this time it simply exists within the plot, so no drama or conflict - just slow progression to give a battlefield-based story emotional accessibility.
This sounds really intriguing.

It is an alternate history story. It reimagines how events in 208AD China and beyond would have gone if a specific person had survived to see them.

Oooh that is such an awesome idea; I love history and love seeing/reading how writers incorporate history or different languages and cultures into fiction! That’s also great you’ve gotten invested into writing.

I think it is so cool how far you have come with your idea and that you haven’t let yourself get discouraged from roadblocks or other things that make it a challenge.

I have wanted to try writing a story again for so long but so many things stop me. Your story idea reminds me of how the past I had ideas to try writing something historical or something that has parallels to what is going on now but fictional and also with alternative twists, but I kinda just gave up on the idea and lost interest. That’s why I think it is so cool you have been able to stick to what you wanted to write for so long.

Sorry for butting in and if that made no sense 😅. I love history and don’t know many people who like history, so I get excited whenever I see someone else likes history.

My medicine still has to kick in, so my mood is not good right now, but there are a few things I’m happy about 🙂.

I was considering skipping the egg hunt and staying off tbt until I was feeling better but I’m glad I came on since the ditto reactions and posts were a nice surprise and are cheering me up a little.

I started playing another game that I’m enjoying a lot; I don’t like that it makes you do multiplayer to get all daily quests but at least it is just one of the summoning currency; I’m going to skip doing that for now until I’m comfortable trying it. It also is very grindy (more so than my other games), so Idk how long I’ll keep playing. For now though, I’m enjoying it. The story isn’t good and is skippable, which is disappointing but I guess right now it is okay since I want to speed through it to get the currency.

There is a small extra event going to happen later in one of my favorite games; I think from the sound of it, it might be an April’s Fools event, since it sounds kinda silly (at least the title). It made me laugh though when I saw the title. It sounds interesting, so I’m looking forward to that. (Edit: it is going on now; wasn’t there when I first got in the game.)

I’m happy that I got to hear and see one of my friends back again ☺️. I need to get back to feeling 100% better so I can chat more and do games again with friends. I feel bad since I’ve taking a lot of time over the last year, but I have been not taking good care of myself for a long time so I definitely need to put myself first.

This passed Monday, my dad took me to the program facility that I will be participating in hopefully starting in a few months or so. I got on the waiting list for it. My dad and grandmother have been meaning to get me into some programs for years, but we have finally made progress on it ^_^

Then today, my dad and I had an appointment with a lawyer and he's going to help with me getting my social security benefits. ^_^

I saw Ace Combat 7 finally on sale on Steam (around 4 bucks) and my brother bought the game for me!! I've been waiting a while for it to drop to a low enough price we could afford (We aren't USA, so there's extra taxes on purchases) and I'll play it when I install more storage on my laptop soon.

  • I got a ticket to see Super Mario Galaxy 3D in theater next week! So excited
  • I filled in for someone at my volunteer job last night and it was a nice shift. I work with rescue cats
  • I got a bunch of awesome new shirts
  • Got a bunch of movies on Amazon prime
  • Got some kindle books and audible books
  • Got some new games for my Nintendo Switch
  • I finally found a workbook for schizoaffective disorder bipolar type which is what I’m diagnosed with and have had since I was 19. I’m 31 now but always looking for more tips and stuff on how to manage my disorder
  • Also on the CPTSD front I haven’t had a panic attack or dissociation in almost a month. Which is crazy because normally it happens at least 3-4 times a week and had been that way for years. My medication is really helping a lot.
  • I have a volunteer shift on Easter. Will be nice to see the cats on Easter since I don’t have any other plans for that day
  • Have Bible study with my friend tonight that I’m looking forward to 🙂

This sounds really intriguing.

I'm glad to hear that because right now I spend more hours on it a day than I do at my actual job. Every free second I'm working on the story!

It is very challenging writing an era-appropriate love story between two men in their 40s in 208 AD. At least it is as a mid-30s woman in 2026. 😂

Never apologise for this. I love to speak to other history fans! My novel was born from months of reading about history routinely every morning with no intent to do anything with it. I especially love ancient Far East, Roman, Greek, and Egyptian history.

Two years ago I specifically travelled to the same museum I visited on a school trip when I was 5 years old. I wanted to see the same preserved mummy again. I spent over an hour sat in the small Egyptian exhibit because it just meant something. I'll attach a photo of the sarcophagus rather than any mummified body photos.

If you want to write a historical story, the right idea will hit you someday. I found my project from the thought of, "what if this person lived to see the next war in the campaign?" It wasn't forced. Just a thought that popped into my head.
