• Easter season is here! Here's what we have going on at The Bell Tree:
    • The egg decorating contest is back! Join TBT’s Fifth Egg Decorating Contest, now with two distinct categories: decorating and painting. Entries must be submitted by April 9th.
    • Starting this Friday at 7PM EDT, follow clues to search for eggs around the forum in TBT's Thirteenth Annual Easter Egg Hunt. New eggs will appear throughout the weekend and the hunt ends on April 6th!
    • Customize your profile by spending bells on any of our three recurring backdrops.

TBT’s Fifth Egg Decorating Contest

That backdrop is like caffeine!

Slowly enter into a panic mode because I don't know what to do and the competition is no joke in that event. People here are so talented and skilled.

Question: in the decorating contest, unless it's quail, it's ONE egg right?

1. Do the eggs need to be hard boiled?
And
2. Are there any lighting requirements when taking the pictures?
1. Lambda already answered, but just to reiterate, no, they don't have to be.

2. As long as the design is visible, it should be fine. It would be great if you could provide a second photo with bright lighting, just so we can confirm that your egg follows the rules.

Although we don't like to stifle anyone's creativity, as a warning, if it's too dark, your entry might not do as well in the community polls.

Correct!

So I just got a letter from the Apple King. I am not allowed to make my egg based on an apple. So looks like I’ll be making my egg something else. Maybe another treasure egg or something. But I can’t re-use or recycle old eggs.
