What Are You Happy About Today?

  • My Dad got a letter from one of his relatives and I was thrilled to discover she had sent some photos of my Mum and Dad's wedding from the 70s! 😭 There is an official wedding album my Mum and Dad have but it's always nice to see different photos. It really couldn't have come at a better time as I wasn't having a good day.
  • I gave Blossom a bath and got all her blankets and bedding washed and dried. Also, she snuggled with me on the sofa. :love:
 
- Went to see my partner today, which was fun! We didn’t do too much because we were both feeling tired but was still nice to chill and play some stuff together! Also managed to talk to them about something important, and it went well 💚

- Got a blue rose today!! I am very excited!! No purple Sakura yet unfortunately, so hoping for one tomorrow?

- Was able to draw for a bit this morning! I’m really not good at shading, so just trying to figure it out- I really don’t want to ruin this piece, it’s my favourite piece I’ve ever drawn, and I’d hate to ruin the lineart with my poor shading skills
 
- Still not completely over my cold but i slept for like 10 hours last night/today and feel a bit less terrible, so I must have really needed it!

- Work was nice yesterday :)

- It was my brother's birthday so we visited him after work. My niece is nearly walking now which is fun! We also booked some transport stuff regarding our holiday in June, which turned out cheaper than I assumed, so that's nice!

- Did some more trip organisation today, booked my accommodations for Basel + Hong Kong (two different trips don't worry)

- Got paid :cool:
 
Ah, Saturdays, how I love you!
  • Finally cleared to go back to yoga/regular exercise. This morning's class was filled with all the regulars I remember, and it was a lot of fun to get back into the rhythm
  • Got an avocado/tomato bagel from a place in the city that knows their bagels. Absolutely delicious!
  • It's a beautiful 27°C, so I went for two walks (one with the pup, one without) and spent some time in the sun
  • Got the laundry done and finished cleaning both floors of the house
  • Grew my first hybrid! A purple sakura! 🌸😊
  • Woke up feeling refreshed after a long week
  • Currently relaxing and enjoying an iced cherry-flavored drink

i'll put it in my art spot thread so people can see, along with her bellossom stage ^^ but... well... i'll do my best with doing her ''gloom'' evo 😅

Been groggy and germy today. 🤧
But got a few highlights.

I managed to get some housework done and I'm happy with my kitchen.

I took a 3hr nap this afternoon and the cats joined me. Seb's current favourite spot is lying on my chest while I sleep and I'm okay with this. He's like a 8.5lbs stuffed animal and lets me wrap my arm around him. I also gave the boys a good brushing today to get all the loose fur off - they purred the whole time. 🐈

My partner's out for the night and I had to cancel two social plans this week that I'd kept money by for (mini golf and bowling) due to being unwell, so I treated myself to a sushi bento box (served with tamago onigiri and miso soup) from a restaurant I haven't ordered from in forever. Salmon, tuna, and seabass yes please. 🍣
 
☾ Watched an episode each of Hunter x Hunter and Haikyu with my parents this morning!!

☾ I made a ton of progress on some artwork today! Gonna try to keep up the pace tomorrow ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ

☾ Had a lot of fun playing Among Us this evening!! I saw so many phantoms poofing… I think I may be haunted…

☾ In addition to a pink rose and some more weeds, I grew a Lily of the Valley tonight!! ;w; I was hopeful but didn’t think it’d actually happen, and now I’m at 3/5 for my LoTV goals!!

Unfortunately, I have to go back some other time cuz I can't afford to buy the amiibos.
I WANT THE LINK AMIIBO SO BAD!!!!! EEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)
 
My moods been kinda down all day but happy because I got to play among us with everyone. That always cheers me up. I really do appreciate being able to play with you all. Thanks so much.

Happy today because I got a Lily of the Valley, orange hyacinth and two weeds.

Today, my mom's best friend is in town. She's the person I consider "mom #2" since my mother passed so I'm always glad to see her :)

I also was able to get some cookie dough flautas and some honey perfume I've had my eye on today!
 
Collected a decent chunk of heart pieces in Majora's Mask 3D while listening to heavy grunge music on Spotify.
Also making progress on my 2025 journal. Currently on February 15. Funny, no matter how much time I spend catching up, I always remain behind.
 
- spent the day with my boyfriend

- had some delicious fish tacos for brunch, with a nice view of the pier

- went to balboa park and they were having an art mart! i bought a beautiful handmade wind chime for my mom (which i'll set aside as her birthday gift). also visited most of the international cottages and the philippines had their own one too!

- went to the dog beach and collected seashells, my bf found a sand dollar

- had a bunch of yummy seafood for dinner (including another fish taco)
 
yesterday me and my mum went to view a flat ! while I decided not to move forward with buying it for various reasons I'm so glad we went as it's made me really sure that's where I'd like to move to, the complex is just so quiet and relaxing and well maintained and I can totally see myself living there some day soon !

we also had the most delicious Japanese fluffy pancakes at a cafe nearby and I picked up a cute vintage hat at a charity shop as well

today I'm just chilling and playing animal crossing yay, I'll pop out to the shops soon to buy some food for the week ahead
 
Friday ~ I went to respite and watched 2 Harry Potter films and played some candy crush

Yesterday at respite I played some candy crush and Disney dreamlight valley then I watched is it cake? 🍰 on Netflix and played Mario kart on the switch

Today: I went home and gave my mum her Mother’s Day card & then we went out and saw my nephew
 
I'd cancelled my plans for lunch with a friend today because I was feeling rough, but after a few hours I felt a bit better so ended up joining my in-laws for a Mother's Day celebration. There were six of us total and it ended up being a really fun catch-up. Between the main and dessert I went outside and took my PIL's dog with me. His name is Harris and he is such a good boy.

It was so nice seeing 90yo grandpa out and about. He had fish & chips, ice cream, and half a pint of Tennent's and looked like he was enjoying the conversation. My own grandparents have all passed on, so I appreciate that I still have one through my extended family. 🖤

The rest of the day will just be relaxing at home, which I think I need before the work week starts again!
