The Megaphone is the most disappointing thing added to the game (Switch 2 users only)

Okay, I am going to say that the Megaphone with the 3.0.0 update for only Switch 2 users is the worst. Like, seriously, how are you supposed to use this thing when you're supposed to call out the villager's name, and yet when you use the Megaphone, it may misinterpret who you're trying to call.

I've been trying to call my villager "Filbert" like 20 times, and this stupid thing keeps telling me that I was trying to call either "Molly" or Kapp'n. I turned down the noise around me, but it still wasn't working. I was trying to find Filbert all over the island, and he wasn't responding. I looked around Able Sisters, The Meusum (looked through all the exhibits), and checked any of the villager homes to see if he was there, but he wasn't. After 45 minutes of frustration, I finally found him, but he was all the way at the end of the beach on the lower corner.

Another thing that bothers me is that the Megaphone won't. The villager you are looking for is indoors, but there is literally no indication of where. I have to ask: wouldn't it make more sense if we used our nookphone to "Call" the villagers, maybe asking them where they are, and they would give us a hint? It would be much better than relying on this Megaphone. The Megaphonee is that your accent, or how you speak, is misunderstood so easily. I hope I am not the only one having this issue because this was so aggravating.

I have also noticed that your character will start talking into the megaphone even when you are not actually talking or calling out a name in real life.

And ugh. Don't get me started on the frustration to track down a villager...

Prior to New Horizon's release, I was REALLY hoping we would get some sort of easy way to track down a villager, but nope.

Maybe in the 4.0 update they can add helicopters so we can see the whole island

If a villager is inside, we could hire Resetti to drop through their chimney and kick them outside!

But in all seriousness, yeah, there needs to be an indication that we can see where the villagers are or find someway to mark them on the Map so we can go to them.

For real. I do want to get all of the "Island Togetherness" Nook Miles achievements (I am not in a rush to, but still), but it is nearly impossible. Tracking down villagers is frustrating as all living hell. >_<

I recall fondly being able to use the megaphone to call for Katie the lost kitten when I lost track of where she was in New Leaf

Sadly if you're a Switch 1 user it will not be available and even if a friend or someone who has the Switch 2 version of the game gives it to you, it will not work. You can hold it but if you try using it it will make a static sound.

It works the same way it did in NL. I do like that they didn't cut any of the content. I love their reaction when you use it in their ears lol.

But with that said, if everyone has a phone why can't you just call them. And they can respond I'm outside or I'm in Able's, the museum, ect.

It goes back to my original point. It would be so much better if the game added a new app to your nookphone that lets you "call" the villagers to either meet up where you are or ask where they are, so that you can go to them. The Megaphone fails even to pick up the villager's location. If the villager is indoors, it acts like they are not around, so that's why you go into any villager homes, able sisters, nook shop, or museum: there is a 50/50 chance they could be in there or not.

I don't have Switch 2 but have bought megaphones from the holiday section of the Nook machine. It's a bit of a disappointment that it is unusable, but then again it would probably involve me yelling into the machine and it's always docked anyway.
