Odd game freezing

Curious if anyone else has this happen to them. Today I encountered this twice going into Nook's Cranny.

As I go in the screen will zoom towards the door, then the game will freeze. Saving is still occurring. I had to force close and restart the game. I have a cartridge game.

Recounting my events, I got 3 DIY from my friend's island. He opened up online because he was expecting someone. I bought items from his items, then went back to mine and sold my excess.

I bought the server from my Nook's Cranny collected shells and fished then went to Nook's Cranny to sell them.

The game froze, then I restarted. Game took longer to start up. Everything was fine after and I was able to sell my stuff without issue.

Then I resumed fishing, collected more shells, and went to sell my fish only for the freeze to occur again.

I am going to see if one of the items I am wearing is causing it as I recently added some glasses from my friend's Able Sisters.

Same thing happened to me just now D: and oddly enough I was carrying 4 big clams on me. I wonder if shells are somehow related? although seems like a stretch. Still very weird though

Mine didn't freeze but a friend came over for me to catalogue two items and I was able to pick them up and drop them but after that neither of us could pick them up. She had to leave in order for me to pick the items up and then I had to go to her island to drop them. It was weird. I didn't "place" them I "dropped" them but yet the game kept saying you can't tidy up when company is over...you can't place things when company is over either, the items were dropped in any case but it made me nervous, like are they going to stop us from cataloging now? Was it just a weird glitch?

I don't know if it's the same type of thing but my game sometimes freezes when hitting trees with axes. It's only happened twice and only when I hit a tree with an axe - the freeze lasts around 5 or 6 seconds and then the game carries on as normal.

Update: It occurred again when I was carrying shells. It did not occur any other time, just when I had shells. I recently achieved the 2nd to last nook mile achievement when this started yesterday. I will be sending a bug report to nintendo.

No I haven’t noticed that yet. I did notice once that Tommy and Tommy were standing apart. One in the middle and one by the counter. Neither followed me around. Very creepy.

Lol so basically I forgot my gates were opened. Doesn’t matter because I only open them for my best friends...which is just my cousin lol

I had this happen to me when going to the town hall a few days ago. No idea if I was carrying shells or not

Only thing I've seen was a severe frame rate drop when I was exiting the nookphone menu. The frames dropped to what seemed to 10 or 15 frames, for about 4 seconds, then everything went back to normal.

I still experience some frame rate issues when dismissing the pockets menu, but it's not as severe (it probably drops by 5 frames and doesn't last a full second, but it's very noticeable).
