Nintendo is partnering with Oxford to study the emotional effects of ACNH

I haven't received an invite on either of my 2 subscribed Nintendo accounts. Definitely interested though, so I am keeping an eye out.

lol SwitchForce is such clickbait. I'm sure he used this survey as reason #50 bajillion why the updates are coming soon.

Nintendo: *sneezes*
SwitchForce: *Hype mode activated*

I hadn’t received the survey, but I wouldn’t be interested anyway. I’d probably overlook the email as if it was spam.

For people asking why they didn't get it, you won't receive it if your account shows you're under 18 yrs old. Also, I'm not sure, but you may have needed to play ACNH in the past two weeks, and/or may need to have a certain number of hours logged in the game, since they screened for those questions too. These last two reasons are just a guess, but that first one is for certain.

I don't have a children account and I played AC in past 2 weeks and I have over 700 hours in it in total. Yet I didn't receive the email. Honestly I just think its random

Yeah I’m not sure why either. Both of my Nintendo accounts has gotten it and one of my accounts doesn’t have a lot of hours logged into it.

I was expecting it to be a survey about how happy we are with the actual game, such as features and updates, and such.

It was not that at all. It was deep questions like if during the last two weeks playing the game made you feel depressed, happy, angry, etc.

Not sure if this is old news but Nintendo sent me this invitation today to participate

Dear ,

You are invited to participate in a voluntary research project investigating how people play video games and how they feel over time. The project is led and run by the Oxford Internet Institute with assistance from Nintendo of America.

You may only participate in this project if you are at least 18 years of age.

If you choose to participate, you will be asked by the Oxford Internet Institute to complete three short surveys (5-10 minutes each) over a period of several weeks. The surveys will ask you how much you have been playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, along with questions about how you have been feeling recently.

Once you’ve agreed to participate and have completed these surveys, Nintendo of America will share Animal Crossing: New Horizons gameplay information with the Oxford Internet Institute. This gameplay data cannot be linked to your identity in any way.

Please click the button below if you would like to participate in this research project.

Thanks!

It was all questions about how the game made me feel and my general emotions in the past weeks.
Genuine question...

I have googled "Oxford Internet Institute" just now
Why are Nintendo of America partnering up with the UK's Oxford Internet Institute?
We have our own specific Nintendo UK that is in the same country as the Oxford Internet Institute.

My post wasn't meant to be a total list of reasons, just some possible ones for why it probably wasn't sent.

I didn't, but I'm not subscribed to nintendo emails.

Like the user above me, I didn’t receive any email with a survey, but I wish I had!

Aw, that's a bummer. I didn't get an email but I wish I had! I love surveys, lol. And one about Animal Crossing would've been lovely! 💕 I wonder why they didn't send it to more people.

I've been hoping to get an email about this, as I also really like taking surveys, but I just realized I had my promotional email settings disabled. orz
It sounds really interesting and I'd love to participate, so hopefully I haven't missed the window to receive it.🤞

I haven't gotten one either which is a shame, I enjoy doing surveys like these. Maybe it's limited to certain countries/regions for now?

I am wondering if you also needed an active Nintendo Online membership too? Mine lapsed for a day when the survey came out, and I believe someone mentioned that they were going to follow up in a few weeks as well as track log times?

I would love to take the survey but I can't remember the password for the email account that my Nintendo emails go to. I will have to try to reset the password and see if the survey is there. It sounds like a well designed survey. Hmm.

I got the survey. I'm suspicious of asking about the emotional impacts of games going through the game company before going to Oxford but I'm cynical like that.

It was so strange, how much AC have you played in the last two weeks. Did you use AC as an escape, that kinda thing
