How much of a thread do you actually read before posting?

If it's something that's been bumped and spans over 8+ pages I'm likely to just read through the most recent couple of them.

The emotional statuses topics I tend to read through more thoroughly.

The Basement I usually just read whatever is on the page.

I usually read at least the entire OP before posting. Whether I read/skim the rest of the thread depends on how long the thread is and what the thread's about

Depends, if it's just 1-2 pages, I might read all of it if the topic interests me. Typically I will scroll to see responses of my favorite members or friends (sorry everyone else) if I like the topic, but if it's something I will absolutely never remember about (sorry everyone's pudding preferences), I'll just post what I feel and leave it at that.

I typically just read the OP if I'm responding. If I'm interested in the topic, I'll go ahead and read a few other posts on the post. The amount of posts I read depends on my interest in the topic.

Depends on how long the thread is and how interested I am in the subject! I read through most short threads I click on and will pretty much always at least read the first/main post, and may read through entire longer threads (and/or watch them for future posts) if it's a subject I'm really invested in/curious about.

But if it's something pretty mundane and I'm mostly just posting for bells/dust/confetti/spores/etc. coughcough then I probably won't read past the OP before moving on. I neither really care about nor will remember y'all's sleep-related habits and I feel like it'd be weirder if I did LOL

For subjects I'm sensitive on or more emotional threads like What's Bothering You, I'm careful to only really check up on it if I'm in a good enough mental place to do so, and if I wind up falling behind I won't try to catch up on all of it.

I read the OP before posting. Sometimes I'll read the last three posts before/after my reply. If it is a newer thread, I'll read all posts before/after replying. Sometimes I only read.

I always read all of the OP and then depending on the length of the thread I will skim the first few, the last few and any in between that catch my interest (and when I see posts from friends I will never ignore those)

I do exactly this, I like to read a couple responses before writing my own.

Depends how long it is, if it’s pages and pages long I’ll just read the OP. Also depends how patient I’m feeling, for this one I read the OP and skimmed a couple of posts and on top of all that, it also depends what the thread is about. So… in short, I’m lazy and I barely read the posts on long threads unless I’m in the right mood

If it’s a new one I’ll read all of the posts, and if it’s old I’ll just read the first one. In threads that I’m watching, I’ll just read all of the updates.
