If Japan gets reprints, so will the western fanbase. ACNH has a lot of sales and one of the best selling games (due to Covid-19).This is only in Japan tho. Not Europe or USA.
I have so many I need to complete my collection. I've traded with a couple of people here. Good stuff.
I respect you quite a bit, however, I take issue with this comment. You call those who legally sell cards on eBay scalpers, but take no issue with other people illegally reproducing material to sell at a lesser price. In both instances the priority is profit, but in only one is the law actually being broken.Depending on how many they make, Ebay scalpers may still be in business, especially if Raymonds card is hard to find or in limited availability.
Then again, all we need is 1 Raymond card to get a binary dump of the code to start making homemade Raymond amiibos.

Pointless arguing with that person they will not agree with you in any circumstance, trust me I have been in that situation with that person beforeNot to butt in, you do have a point. However, you do know scalpers are dreadful people overpricing cards than they should be? While yes, you can charge however you want BUT if you're charging bulk goods over SRP or it's original price, that's not legal either. The Switch is currently a target of this with bots mass-buying them and overcharging people in marketplaces. If you never cranked up the price to 200$ a pop for a Sanrio card then you're not a scalper. Just a regular reseller.
Having more cards in circulation, Japanese or not will combat the exploitative prices. Not completely but enough that people aren't driven to be forced to buy 50-200$ for a single Amiibo card.
That...I didn't know. Well, I guess my point still stand but I'll keep that in mind. I didn't mean to argue though! Just wanted to clear up differences between a regular reseller and a scalper!Pointless arguing with that person they will not agree with you in any circumstance, trust me I have been in that situation with that person before
I'm not getting into the home made NFC cards with you. I just wanted to say there is a huge difference between people selling off some duplicates they have and people who bought packs with the express purpose to sell them at a profit. The second person is a scalper and took cards away from people at normal prices for personal gain.I respect you quite a bit, however, I take issue with this comment. Oh no your fine, just warning you that the person has been known to come onto these threads and continuously argue over "morality"That...I didn't know. Though that requires you to have a (relatively) new phone. An S7, for example, is not supported, you need at least an S8 if you are using Samsung devices. Just as a quick heads up before people might get disappointed. I have an S7 and realized I can't use it after a friend told me about it.And, if you are on Android, you don't even need to buy the NFC tags...
I think that's how it is in Europe! Even the Sanrio packs only came by 3s. Also, something with Europe Youtubers having that as well. Though I've only bought US ones too! They come by 6.Saw some packs up on ebay. Listing says european pre-orders.
And going for 11.99 GBP for 3 cards and 1 special card. IIRC the original packs were 6 cards with 1 being the "special". Is this how the cards always were in Europe? I've only ever bought the USA version.

But not sure if it's part of the re-release.
Not looking for an argument, Jared, just calling a spade a spade. If people are unwilling or incapable of having an intelligent conversation about it without interjecting their emotions, then no sense in responding. I purposely left out morality or ethics, as that was the crux of our previous discussion, if you care to call it that.Pointless arguing with that person they will not agree with you in any circumstance, trust me I have been in that situation with that person before
The SRP for a collectible is not the same as an SRP for say a car, or a mattress. Collectibles don't have any inherent value other than what's perceived. To say it's illegal to mark the price up of a collectible is incorrect. Think about it, would antique stores exist if it were illegal? Would eBay exist if it were illegal? As far as I'm concerned, baseball cards and Amiibo cards are in the exact same category. Nintendo doesn't produce the same amount of each character, hence, the reason some sell for $70 (Merengue), and some sell for $5 (Becky). Granted, prices weren't this outrageous for these things prior to New Horizons going live, but neither were prices for a Mike Trout base card prior to his being the best baseball player in the game. Not to butt in, you do have a point. Either way, I hope the Splatoon 2/Zelda villagers come in series 5 alongside the 8 brand new villagers. For the RV Villagers from Welcome Amiibo and the Hello Kitty villagers from Pocket Camp, I'm open to whether or not they appear. I mostly just want Viche back. xD And an easier way to buy all my dream villagers then playing "What's In The Pack?"
The RV Villagers from Welcome Amiibo are in the game. My friend had Sprocket as a starter. So if they don't reprint those, those 50 villagers will suddenly be very expensive, and I have Snooty from a Nook Miles tour. The current RV cards also work with the game, so when (I hope it's when and not if) Nintendo re-releases them outside of Japan, it's for Series 1-4 and the RV cards.
I'm sort of indifferent on then reintroducing any of the other villagers. Unless they come with awesome items like they did in New Leaf, Felyne from the Monster Hunter amiibo had a lot of awesome, creepy furniture.
If we do get em then cool, but I am referring to the link they posted. It only states Japan. It's not good to generalize and get hopes up without concrete proof. Also Nintendo being smart enough to capitalize on the success of the game is high expectations. If Japan gets reprints, so will the western fanbase. If they're gonna be focusing on making money, they'll globally do it. It might just take time due to the pandemic. (Though, I'm more anticipating Raymond's card. That single piece of data will devalue every single overpricing scalpers on 3rd party markets.)
I guess to me it's good news because I'm in Asia so I can just order packs and I can read the text fine (It's just the names anyways, you can scan any language with no issues in games or any Amiibo-supported systems.) Any possibility of a reprint is always a good news. It means Nintendo isn't trying to lock everyone out getting the cards. If it was bad news, that would be it being totally discontinued forever and we're stuck in this stupid gacha system with NMT.If we do get em then cool, but I am referring to the link they posted.
