I love how many people voted yes. I damaged my vision when I was 16-17 by playing an app on my iPod Touch for extended hours in a pitch black room on a bright little screen. I've never done anything that stupid since.
Bad eyesight is more often genetic, not from eye strain. Odds are you ruined your eyes by your ancestry.

I don't wear them, but I need to get reading glasses- everything up close is getting a bit blurry, I have to hold stuff away from me to read it properly. And i used to have vision that was even better than 20/20, dammit.

Eh, I'd have to disagree. My vision started becoming blurry around the time I started that ridiculous late night habbit. I honestly don't see how I couldn't damage my eyes by staring at a tiny, bright screen in a completely dark room. Especially if I didn't blink enough. While I do agree it could have happened later from genetics, I think this sped up the process. I noticed heavy technology users tend to have glasses or wear contacts.

Disagree all you want. It's a proven myth. There are symptoms from prolonged computer use in bad lighting, but it's eye strain problems not nearsightedness/farsightedness.

I don't have any currently, but I've been noticing that it takes a few seconds to focus on things like in class when I go from looking at my notes to looking at the board, when I'm driving & look at a sign, etc.

It probably won't be long. :<

i only really have to for my right eye, so as long as my left eye can see fine, i rather not wear my glasses at all :/

I have some. I only have to wear them when I look at screens for an extended period of time.

I was supposed to go with my mom the other week to go get glasses but then her boyfriend got out of jail so I haven't be able to go yet, my eyesight sucks but it's been perfect my whole life, I think it's because my job is on the computer and the strain fracked them up. But I am hoping I can get some SOON so I can see better and I also look cute AF in glasses so that's good.

ye
ive been trying to get contacts but my eyes are kinda sensitive

so when im 20 something im just getting that surgery

Look at us, glasses wearing people. Awesome. One of my eyes is literally 100 points worse than my other eye so I have one that's 400 and one that's 300. So I get to say I have a "good" eye. My doctor also said my astigmatism is so bad my eyes are shaped like footballs in my sockets. Also if I'm exposed to sunlight I have to wear sunglasses or I'll get macular degeneration.

I wear contacts, I have glasses but I never wear them. They're expensive so I don't want to break them ;~;

My sight is ****
I've been wearing them since I was in second grade.
Might get surgery this upcoming year

I wear glasses, I actually need a stronger prescription but our family's insurance only covers every 3 years. I'm sure I can manage the headaches and eye strain until the summer :P

I wear glasses. I didn't wear them before because I didn't like how they looked on me, even though I needed em because my eyesight is poor. But yeah, I've learned to embrace them and I look sexy as hell and my eyes thank me.
