I've only had glasses for just over a year.
I wear them most of the time.

Bad eyesight is more often genetic, not from eye strain. Odds are you ruined your eyes by your ancestry.I love how many people voted yes. I damaged my vision when I was 16-17 by playing an app on my iPod Touch for extended hours in a pitch black room on a bright little screen. I've never done anything that stupid since.

Disagree all you want. It's a proven myth. There are symptoms from prolonged computer use in bad lighting, but it's eye strain problems not nearsightedness/farsightedness.Eh, I'd have to disagree. My vision started becoming blurry around the time I started that ridiculous late night habbit. I honestly don't see how I couldn't damage my eyes by staring at a tiny, bright screen in a completely dark room. Especially if I didn't blink enough. While I do agree it could have happened later from genetics, I think this sped up the process. I noticed heavy technology users tend to have glasses or wear contacts.
