Anyone else refuse to trade outside of TBT?

I think Bell Tree has a much more homely vibe which attracts more trustworthy and kind players. Additionally to that, the rating system makes me feel much more secure when trading because I know what to expect based on people's reviews and post history.

Other than people from TBT, I've been only trading with friends I knew well before the game's release (some of them never played a previous entry on the series). I used to trade and play with people from Gamefaqs back when I was regularly playing NL and never had a problem.

No. I've done trades on discord as well. I don't do much trading now a days though as I've pretty much gotten everything I need. If something peaks my interest or I find someone's wishlist item in my storage then I trade. but I feel exactly the same about discord but the actrade discord is probably my favorite. it feels rather small than their vast reddit community. I've also done a lot of trades on nookazon but I hate when they don't reply at all or just straight out ghost you.

I don't even have a discord, and I just overall feel more comfortable trading on this site. I know some people who trade over twitter too, but I don't use it much

for the most part i use tbt! especially for big trades. i am much more comfortable here, and i love the community. i also really appreciate the feedback system. i do occasionally use the animal crossing discord but it's mainly for when i need something quick, like nmt

I do trade a lot on Discord and Nookazon and all that but I’m extremely wary of anyone who comes from such websites. I feel like I can get a better deal most of the time compared to TBT. TBT, in my opinion has one of the higher amounts of inflation I’ve seen. Not to mention, people on other websites tend to be much more rude than TBT members probably due to there being less review systems in place. TBT has its issues but the way it’s established itself and the vibes its got are just way more pleasant than any other place I’ve tried.

TBT by far is my favorite. I was on the discord for a lil bit whenever I was in a rush for things or just something to sell while doing other things on my island. Met several people there who are now super dear to me c: but we don’t even use the discord anymore

I've found that Nookazon works pretty well for most things, but I certainly wouldn't try to buy villagers from anyone there. Most of my Nookazon interactions have been pretty good but my most recent interaction was someone trying to start a bidding war on something with a listed price. I just... noped out of that.

Most of my trading these days is done on here though! There's just some stuff that's hard to find here sometimes.

I'm in a Nintendo Switch Twitter community and we have a group who all play AC, pretty much only interact with them.

I refuse to trade with anyone outside the forums. This place is all I need. The rating system is one of the best features of this site and it's the reason why I have remained here to do any of my online play (besides my friends). I have never been scammed here, and most people are so polite. There is no reason for me to go elsewhere!

For the most part, I do trading through here. However, I also do trading and transactions with friends and family members, too.

I'm not too familiar with the other options out there, but the community here has always been nice and the reputation system gives you the ability to see feedback and get a good idea of whether or not the person is trustworthy. It's very handy and gives me a sense of comfort when doing trades, transactions, and generally having people over at my island.

I did use Discord for trades just a little when TBT was down once recently for upgrades. I didn't have any strong issues, but I did feel a lot less comfortable with it.

Trading on these forums has spoiled me for trading anywhere else. With a bit of patient hunting, I can find pretty much anything I'm after at a tradepoint that I consider reasonable. And the traders I've worked with have almost all been polite, patient and professional. The rating system helps enforce that. I just don't see a good reason to trade elsewhere.

I wouldn't say I refuse to trade outside of TBT, but I definitely don't feel the need to trade outside of TBT. I've been getting my needs/wants met here and through my friends as well, so there's not really a reason for me to try venturing into another place for AC trading

My favorite place to trade is definitely here on TBT! I also tend to do trades on discord servers if I'm in a hurry and can't find the items I want here, but so far I've gotten lucky and haven't came across any servers while doing discord trades!

I pretty much only trade here on TBT I stumbled upon it around 2 years ago and I have never really felt the need to join any other websites or anything for trades :3 I did join an ACNH discord server, but there were so many people in it and it was really chaotic and I had a hard time keeping up with messages and whatnot and the one time I messaged someone for something on that server, the person ghosted me lol. I am in some smaller animal crossing discord servers, but they are kind of just servers with my friends and we use it to play together, although we do trades as well, but that's not the focal point of them ig, haha c:

I didn’t even play online with strangers before I found TBT. The feedback system and the lack of anonymity makes the all the difference in how people behave, plus I feel that this site attracts very different kinds of players. Generally you have to want community to come here, rapid fire discord servers are purely transactional because that’s what that space is designed for. It’s just not my speed and I agree that I would feel less comfortable trading in that environment.

I've traded on Reddit but not as much since the release of NH. The sense of community on forums cannot be compared imo. And as previously stated, the rating system here is a great safeguard. Even after doing so many trades, I still worry a bit at times.

I prefer to trade on TBT because of the rating system, but I haven't had a bad experience yet with Discord or Reddit. I usually use post to those places if I can't find what I'm looking for on TBT, but I'm more cautious because of the lack of moderation and anonymity. I have actually been ghosted on TBT before, so I can't say, in my experience, that any of these places are distinctly better than the other.

I echo a lot of sentiments in this thread. I have had history playing Animal Crossing alone, and Animal Crossing with community. It's so much better with TBT. I did use to interact on ACC, but the forums are first of all, let's just say it: ugly lol and second, I have had just as many bad interactions on there as I have good ones. The rules are also crazy rigid on that site.

Obviously I haven't had ALL good interactions on here... some people just aren't friendly, or are even rude when trading. The first time It happened I let it go cuz they gave me 1.5 Mil for some resources, but I've decided to just give very detailed negative feedback from now on when it's warranted. I have a good memory. But other than that, this community has been so amazing so far. I keep telling my RL friends to try playing Animal Crossing with forums like TBT! I do get what some might say about greed on here, but it's nothing compared to Facebook groups. People seriously upset about having to pay 99k virtual bells or 1 NMT for a fee is absolutely ridiculous and greedy in it own right (no one has to let you on their island. We're all new to the game and vying for resources...) Honestly just makes me appreciate the generous folks on here even more.
