Yes, I agree with you on the XL part, but the 3DS is actually not on the DS line.

I don't think you understand...
The 3DS is not like the DSi or DS Lite, it's a completely new console. New processor, graphics, new everything.
Here, maybe this will help:
PS2 = DS
PS2 Slim = DS Lite
PS3 = 3DS

Gameboy = DS
Gameboy Color = DS Lite
Gameboy Advance = 3DS

Does it make sense now?

Ok ok. The 3ds has a better processor making games better it has a higher resolution screen yes in 3d. Look the 3ds is nothing like the ds ds light its there new one, the dsi was meant to be ds2 and dsxl was ds2 just bigger and the ds family (although way to big) will die and soon there will be a 3ds, 3ds light. look calm down the ds is old and outdated and now its time for more better games.

I hope instead of making a 3DS Lite they just give the 3DS the same as the DSL with many brightnesses instead of 2

Every DS has a plus, if you can't see that then you're too dumb to be saying the 3ds is stupid.

DS phat = it's a brand new system.
DS Lite = Its brighter, and slimmer.
DSi = Camera + Ds ware etc
DSi XL Really big
3DS = See DS phat.

beyond being a new system, the original ds was nice for those who didn't want their hands cramped to all hell by the lite.

i guess the xl fixes that, but at the time there wasn't an option like that. eh.
