How does that even work? (Selling Villagers.)

I've seen this before, but I never understood how it worked...

How do you SELL villagers? I don't mean the amiibo, I mean the actual villager. I'm confused and I'd like to know how.

When a villager is moving out of your town and are in boxes (day before they are gone), you can let someone into your town to talk to them and invite the villager to move to their town. You can charge them for in-game bells or tbt (forum currency) in exchange for this.
