So last year, it was expected that we would have another Camp TBT event since it was an odd-numbered year, but since the staff needed a break to focus on improvements, we didn’t have one. Since it’s an even-numbered year, a TBT Fair is likely, but the last summer event we had was also a TBT Fair. At the same time, it’s been over a decade since we had a different summer event (like the TBT Beach Party and the Fire Festival).

So here is a question to ask. What would you rather have? Would you rather have a TBT Fair, a Camp TBT event, or a different kind of event?

To be honest, I have no clue. As much as I like competition. I would like a low key event. Especially since I got family members as well as mine birthday in the summer.

But a tbt fair sounds fun!

I chose Camp TBT! I was looking forward to it last year but it didn't happen. I've never participated in a team event before and it sounds like fun, so hopefully the staff is considering that for this summer.

I don’t really like team events, so I went with the TBT Fair. But I would also be interested into a smaller event like if we had a Glow Festival. It’s been years since TBT had a smaller summer event (I don’t even count Old School Animal Crossing Week). But the TBT Fair is still the best part of this site. If only we can have one that is run the same way the 2016 and 2017 fairs were run.

Camp TBT because it we had nothing last year. Team events are fun and this site needs more fun. Besides we can have Fair style events for Halloween and Winter.

I really loved the Bell Tree Fair and Camp Bell Tree but atm I don’t feel up to a big event and I’m not comfortable with any team events (also heard there was some problems with the last camp bell tree, I think), so I’d honestly rather see a different event, preferably something small. I still think there are a lot of things that still need to be addressed such as feedback about events and other concerns people had/have; I rather see some kind of update before I worry about events.

Yeah, but the TBT Fair also offered real-life prizes, which is unique to the fair. It’s possible for other events to have both contests and events with staff favorites.

I have to agree that there are still many issues to address. For instance, we still haven’t received a staff response or solution to the collectibles market and the repeat winners issues. Heck, both the last Camp TBT and last TBT Fair had some problems. It’s a good thing that the staff took time to revamp the rules while the second half of last year was dry from events. Then again, smaller events would be better as we wait for AC6.

I've only done the lunar event that just happened so I'm down for anything really c: Would someone break down or give me a briefing on what the two main summer events are? Did someone mention there's teams for one of them or something? I'm pretty competitive so maybe I'd prefer these team vs team events

As someone who’s been here for over 10 years, I’ll be glad to explain the two.
  • The Bell Tree Fair is a mix of official contests (where everyone makes a piece of art or something to submit, then few get nominated for community voting) and events (where you have other activities to casually participate in, best entries result in animated collectible award). In addition, they release a ton of new collectibles (believe it or not, the glow wands, gradient feathers, plushies, and star fragments started with a previous TBT Fair) and real prizes you can get mailed to you.
  • Camp Bell Tree puts members into different teams. Some activities involve building the team spirit (like official team color and team name), but most activities are general casual activities where all entries award team participation points. There are also three different zones that have team games as well.
Basically, if you prefer to compete alone or work to get into a voting contest, the TBT Fair is better for you. If you prefer to compete in groups against other groups and build friendships with others as part of the event, Camp TBT is better for you.

I voted for a different type of event until there are some solutions to some of the problems. A team event can be good but depends on how long it lasts. Sometimes they last too long and people end up leaving towards the end. I have participated in one team event. I heard some in the past got a bit too competitive.

I like your idea of a Glow festival. It sounds like it would be a good summer event.

I’m happy with any kind of event, I fell really lucky with the cetaceans a few years back and that really was one of my highlights on the forum I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better team🥹❤️

I honestly have no preference and will happily participate in anything that the staff comes up with if I’m able to take part in the events.

Oh man I thought maybe once you explained both it'd be easier to choose but nope :( Still can't decide lol
I think maybe since I've not really interacted with all the people on these forums yet Camp TBT might help me out make some more friends so I'll vote for that one between the two c:

I like the community spirit of Camp Bell Tree and it helps get me out of my shell a bit. And I really enjoy voting for the team theming!
But sometimes it gets too competitive and tensions rise... :(

I love how grand and special the TBT Fair feels, and the real life prizes are so amazing! But I do feel kind of bad about how much money it must cost the staff to send all them out 😅

Smaller events can be fun too, and I know a lot of people can get overwhelmed by the bigger events or are too busy to participate. So I wouldn't be opposed to a new, smaller event this year.

Honestly, I'd be okay with any kind of summer event, I just really want a farming theme 🥺 (moomoo and piggy plushiiiieees)
