What Are You Happy About Today?

Didn't have to say a single word during a work meeting today. This other department was going to try to throw me under the bus for their mistake but my manager did the talking. It also helped that the last time they tried to blame me for stuff this other manager told them the mistake is 100% not my fault.

Not only did they end up admitting fault to everyone, they ended the meeting more than half an hour early

My dad is in the armed forces. Scary time to have a parent in this line of work, especially when he is so close to retirement. I want him out.

I won't be seeing him today unfortunately as I live in a different city. But as soon as he was back in the country he sent me a text.

Yesterday:
- I had a conversation with a distant relative from London who also plays Pokémon.
- Completed the Pokedex in Pokémon Scarlet and received the Shiny Charm. Unfortunately, I didn't have much luck finding any shinies in mass outbreaks, even with the sandwich buffs. Then again, I guess I shouldn't expect the shinies to be handed to me like the shiny Gyarados from Gen 2.
- Ate some Turkish food for dinner that tasted great.
- My sister bought some food for the cats, including this chicken-flavored lollipop.

Today:
- Visited my relatives for a birthday party and I got to chat with my cousins. They had a Spiderman-themed party this year, and the chocolate cake was great.
- Worked on a sketch of a lady in graphite and charcoal.
- Got plenty of sleep today.

It’s pretty soft (though not as soft as a Squishable or Comfy Friends plush), which surprised me since official merchandise plushes seem more often than not, not soft at all (like the Isabelle animal crossing plush I have).

This one was a surprise; I thought my mom ordered it by mistake since I asked for Il Capitano and Il Dottore’s (both were out of stock at Christmas) if they were in stock by the time she ordered, but they weren’t and still unfortunately are out of stock.

I think she or Childe would be my next favorite harbringers so I am very happy with this .

I saw pictures of that shark plush that he’s sitting on online somewhere else and I thought that was a joke until I found this store and saw it here . It’s so goofy and random, Idk if I hate it or like it (the shark). I do like the art even with the goofy thing behind him lol .

Fatui Scrapbook set

The book looks refillable, though once things are pasted on the pages, it should be too full to have anything else. The site does not have any of the pages to buy separately either.

No idea how I want to decorate it yet (probably will leave it blank because it was very expensive, or at least until I plan it out carefully). I think if I can find art merchandise of my favorite harbinger characters, maybe putting it in it .

• I slept great last night. I got a new couch/bed combo and it’s so cozy and comfy.
• I’m all set to do the NY state NAMI (national alliance for mental illness) peer to peer leadership training in September! One step towards becoming a peer specialist
• I’ve been loving my alcohol markers. They’re so good and vibrant.
• My sister took me on a shopping spree the other day. She gave me an $800 cap and said to get whatever I wanted at target. I got a lot of stuff. Not $800 worth because I felt that would be too much but I got: 6 new shirts, 2 books (Ozzy Osbourne: Last Rites, and The Woman in Me by Britney Spears) a gel mattress topper, curtains, new sheets, and new towels. She also ordered the couch/bed thing for me. I’ll edit this post after with pics. Afterwards we went to Applebees and I had a bourbon mushroom Swiss burger with fries and an Oreo milkshake. We also stopped by her house and she gave me some stuff from there. A few really nice perfumes, and I got some books (the six of crows duology) and the main hunger games series because my niece is in college and doesn’t need them anymore. Was such a fun night!

I bought my first mattress!

I spent way too much time researching and reading but I went in there knowing what I wanted which was good. Though, surprisingly, the firm in the brand I went with was way firmer than the firm beds I was used to so I opted for a medium.

Anyway, I can't wait for it to arrive! $1500 later... but I couldn't cheap out on a mattress. Getting a good night's sleep is worth every penny.
