What Are You Happy About Today?

Two years ago, the greatest video game of all time was released worldwide.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 5.12.2023

Happy two year anniversary. 5.12.2025

I was off work today due to on-going health issues (not looking forward to HR's response to that tomorrow) but I managed to not bail on date night. We went to see Sinners at the cinema. Absolutely fantastic movie would definitely recommend. We spent the walk home analysing it.

Two songs I love were in it and it took everything in me to not sing along. 😂
Wild Mountain Thyme and The Rocky Road to Dublin. I'm massively into Celtic music - I'm from a Celtic region so no judgement please!

Breath of the Wild:

I got a new horse, and I named her Nayru (again). But it's not the same. Don't get me wrong, I love her. Its just that the og Nayru will never fully be replaced. May she rest in peace.

Sheikah Tower in Hyrule Field- As I was climbing up, a Guardian trapped in the ground started shooting lasers at me. With tons of bomb arrows, I killed it. First Guardian defeated in the game! Whoop!

In the Faron Woods- I got an up close and personal encounter with Farosh the dragon. I shot him with an arrow, and I got one of his scales. Nice! I love seeing the dragons roaming freely. Last week, I was up on the Great Plateau when I saw Farosh emerge from beneath the surface of Lake Hylia. I watched him for 5 whole minutes, mesmerized. When he went back down beneath the surface, I whistled and clapped irl. I also whistled in the game. I said, "Woo! What a great show!" (Cue the whistling and clapping.)

I'm feeling a lot better than yesterday and I don't have to go back to work once my boss comes in.

I'm going to focus on applying to a trainee and intern jobs once home!

I plan to finish my DIY sushi shop, I'm gonna take a new pic of all the parts before I put them together and add to my art pile thread. Hoping my glue can glue my walls together with no problem >.<

Then maybe some animal crossing games? Or games in general?

- Managed to get through 4 days of work w/ no day off! Only got one more shift tomorrow before I have a 4 day break for my birthday weekend. Going to a spa hotel for 2 nights and then doing some shopping in a nearby city 🤗

- Speaking of work, I'm finding it pretty chill! Even when it gets busy it doesn't stress me out much. Maybe the easiest job I've had?

- Only did a 4 hour shift today, finished at 1pm so I got home, had a bath, made some pizza, and had a coffee :)

- I'm happy I'm doing a mid shift tomorrow too, so finishing up in the afternoon again!

- Bought a band t-shirt I've been wanting for a while - planning on wearing it for my trip to Japan haha

I've been on a hiatus for weeks for a few reasons. I miss posting in this thread.

Happy stuff that happened during my hiatus
  • My sister bought DVDs to the trilogy of Back to the Future! The last time I watched those three movies was back in 2015 (which so happened to be the year that Marty time travelled to the future in part 2 lol). Anyway, we watched it together with our mother over the course of three days and I appreciate the trilogy a lot more after further understanding the plot.
  • Coincidentally, there was an online time trial in Gran Turismo 7 which featured the DMC DeLorean from the movie (minus the flux capacitor and other time travelling stuff haha)! I was genuinely surprised by it on top of the fact that it was very easy to gold considering it typically takes me multiple attempts to break the target time. I went over 88 mph for more than half a lap, but I didn't see some serious stuff.

If you still don't believe me, here's the DeLorean in-game! I used a livery that someone tried recreating from the movie, although not 100% accurate due to the absence of other physical bits at the back.

  • On one of my day offs from work, I went somewhere with my mother and sister to go see some cherry blossoms! There weren't any purple nor blue Sakuras to be found, but it's still a sight to behold regardless. To make things better, the day started off a bit cloudy and got sunnier as time went on!

  • I've been playing WRC 10 here and there and I'm slowly starting to get quicker to the point I had to bump up the difficulty slightly. Despite that, I'm still just as likely to find myself scraping against walls and crashing into objects lol. But when I do get in the groove, it feels so satisfying driving through narrow roads. 😌
  • I went to Costco with my father and sister. It's very rare for me to go there as I feel like I'm getting a really good deal buying a big hot dog with a drink for only $1.50! I also got poutine which had a pretty generous amount. 😋
  • I gotta let @LadyDestani know about this. One day at work, a Chevrolet Corvette C4 showed up! I didn't get to work on it as I was working on another car, but its presence alone made me very happy! However, while one of my coworkers worked on it, they needed my assistance which involved turning the Corvette on and off a few times. Eventually, they told me to start the engine and rev it a few times. It's not often I hear a grumbling old V8 engine in real life! Gosh, that made me so happy. ☺️ LadyDestani, I hope you don't mind me pinging you again later this week because there's something good approaching hahaha.
Each generation of the Corvette has a different badge. This one in particular indicates it's from the C4.

The digital dashboard is what really blew me away. It feels old and futuristic at the same time!

For fun, here's another photo of the dashboard from Gran Turismo 7! There are some slight differences such as the range of the tachometer going up to 80 as opposed to 60. Or how the imperial units are illuminated instead of the metric units in real life.

  • I started a new drawing and it's coming together pretty nicely. I love making dynamic poses even though there's always room for improvement!
  • Feel free to skip this point. Goodness gracious! I'm extremely happy to report that after almost three months, I finally spotted a unique car to add to the list! Aside from the Mazda CX-30, but it's a given considering how common it is lol. Passing by through an intersection while I was on my way home from work one day, a wild BMW M3 (E36) appeared! 😭 I've been hoping to find this elusive car ever since the middle of last year and it's finally come true. This now bumps up the grand total to 265 cars! The thing is, I finished work later than usual that day, so I very wouldn't have spotted this car at all if I finished my shift at a typical time. Talk about blessing in disguise!
  • I ate fried chicken, spaghetti, and peach mango pie from Jollibee with my mother and sister!
  • I also got to play Among Us again after a few weeks. I only ended up playing a few rounds, but I had this funny moment where I was tasked to make a burger... If you could even call it a burger in the first place.
Forget using burger buns. Lettuce is the healthier option! And it has onions, so I automatically rate it 10 out of 10. (y)

I'll probably be back again to make another post for today! This one is getting pretty lengthy lol.

Started excavating my first trail ruins in Minecraft!! This place is huge omg, I haven’t finished exploring it yet, but I already found all four armor trims and the Relic music disc!!

My One Piece TCG card of Hiyori arrived today 🫶 It's so super pretty aaaaa

Also got to see some cute fanart of another of my faves ;w;

I listened to a livestream VOD while working on some art! I was actually able to focus today too (。・∀・)و

Watched a few short videos with my family over dinner!

Despite not having the best job fair, I did meet an old friend and coworker from there! It was such a nice surprise.

The job fair was actually at my old college, so it was crazy being back in the area. They still have that cute ramen shop nearby! I had pork ramen for lunch and it was so filling; I got round to reading a bit while I waited for food!

My books I ordered came and I picked them up before going to the job fair, two books from the 'The last kids on earth' series, 'The forbidden fortress' and 'the monster dimension'

- Officially done with work for the next 4 days :)

- Washed my hair and made some avocado toast on rye sourdough w/ fried eggs 🤗 feeling refreshed!

- My t-shirt has been shipped so should be arriving soon, hopefully before I leave for my trip on friday

- It's getting super close to when I leave for Spain, super excited!

I’m happy today for one reason and one reason only. I found out yesterday that there was an infection near one of my dental implants. It was something that could’ve been avoided but in short, there was a minor issue I put off for a long time that I only recently felt comfortable confronting. In fact, I’m shocked nothing worse happened.

I was prescribed the dreaded Amoxicillin horse pills, but the pharmacist I talked to at my local Walmart was able to call and have them substituted for the bubblegum antibiotic, AKA the pink stuff! 🤭

The pharmacist was so nice about it, too. The dentist wasn’t listening to me, but I explained everything at Walmart and everything was fixed! There’s absolutely no way I would’ve been able to take four of those pills a day. But four shots of bubblegum flavored liquid? Yes!

Two good things: It tastes good, and the infection seems to be clearing up already! Yesterday, there was some visible swelling and blood, and now it’s only a little white. It’s only been a day and a half! I’m looking at it daily.

Tw: Spoiler mentions blood.

Forgot to mention this a few days ago, but ohhh my god I can't believe the recent sessions of SMO Hide & Seek include Spiff AND Jaymoji!!! Two of my favorite streamers!! I really love SMO H&S, they're the perfect VODs I watch whenever I need something in the background. They're not extremely stimulating but also not super boring, so I actually get a lot of work done just by listening to the group talk back and forth during the gameplay. Even without visuals a lot of their convos are really funny! Anyway when I was renovating my room last week I was listening to some of their recent sessions and heard some familiar voices, I couldn't believe they added Spiff & Jay!! I've been a huge fan of both of them for more than a year now, I love Spiff's playthrough of various horror games, and Jaymoji is a Splatoon player I absolutely look up too (he's the reason I eventually mained Nautilus, lmao) so I was super duper happy they've been added to the team ;v; I can't wait for their future collabs!!

I wanna geek out more because a lot of content creators I follow are doing collabs with each other in recent times but I'm so shy to geek out LMAO so this is all I'm gonna say for now
