What Are You Happy About Today?

quick post bc I'm still recovering/struggling with typing and screens a little lol, and have mostly just been sleeping a lot, but yesterday I was able to get sterilized!! 🥳 That's like a whole genre of worries I don't need to stress over anymore, and while I was pretty nervous beforehand, honestly I feel like it was lower stress for me than normal doctor's appointments are LOL?? like I was asleep for all the parts that would've been unpleasant, then I got applesauce... and ginger ale... and nice new socks...

some of the side effects are a little annoying but it's manageable, and I recovered so quickly yesterday I was able to get discharged much earlier than we expected!

also my skin looks great today?? I thought I'd look a lot rougher but I'm kinda glowing if I do say so meself
 
So, today I was merely worried about getting to do everything in a limited timeframe.
At work, it was pretty simple, and normal; though a lil busy with more people actually coming in for drinks. I got nearly everything put away and took care of customers, except for some dishes to wash up; but I know my coworker who came in will do it, he's like me, doesn't like leaving the dishes uncleaned.

I left on time to walk over and grab Bobby, the dog I was walking that day. He was extremely happy and eager for his walk. This week, we've only been walking around the area he lives in and not the park, but this time; he was eager to walk to the park this time! Which was really nice for a change.
I've had to jog to keep up with him XD But that was also a nice change, get some exercise in as well. I think he knew his general routine at the park, cause we walked far, but he was really good this time to actually walk home, to make sure I had time to get him home before my eye test, we were running together to get back!
And he was a good boy for walking up the steps and into the kitchen where his owner wanted him. Usually I have to pick him up.

I, despite being out of breath from the walk, rush to the bus stop, and I luckily got a bus in time to get to my eye test! The eye test went well, as per usual for my left eye is still weak; and I chose out some new glasses, and plan to grab and pay for em at the end of the month.

But I am super glad, everything went well today! Usually Bobby doesn't like going home from the park, and was worried, but everything went well.
I now have have some time to relax, play some games or work on journals~
 
- Having my first chill day off in ages after being away for 3 days, and then working for 3 days straight 😅
- Work yesterday was really chill. I managed to do an hour and a half of online training and then we weren't busy at all, so me and my coworkers just chatted until 3pm 🤷‍♀️
- I feel like I've become popular at work because I brought birthday cake in on monday, i got complimented on how well I was doing, which makes me feel kind of bad about the fact I'm about to do a trial shift for another job tomorrow 😖
- Been on a diet recently and it's going ok!
- Ate my favourite Indian food - paneer curry w/ rice and pickled veggies, onion bhaji, veggie samosas, mango chutney, sour cream, and mint + herb sauce 🤗
- Also did a arms + abs workout today :)
 
Work is over for the day. Four day weekend! 🥳

A teacher came to my room this morning and asked if I would be interested in chaperoning a two-day field trip next week for our 12-13yo pupils. It was really nice to be asked as I kind of feel invisible at work outside of my own department. I helped with this same trip last year too, although I volunteered that time. It meant today was extra busy though as I had to finish my work for those dates deadlines today. Managed it though! 💪

There was a screening of a pupil's short film today. Absolutely fantastic. I'm glad someone knocked on my door a few minutes before it started because I wasn't aware of it. So glad I didn't miss it as it was incredibly well executed. We were also shown some of the planning work and a 'making of', which made it all the more impressive. It was a great note to end the work week on.

Relaxing evening in planned. My weekend is pretty empty besides the gym and my cats check-up at the vet. I'm so looking forward to getting some gaming in. 🎮
 
I’m still waiting for my medicine to kick in but I have a few things that I’m happy about right now.

One of the nendoroids that I’ve been waiting for to be released is available for pre-order; it’s the Zhongli nendoroid from Genshin :D. It comes with a little dragon; it makes me think of Derpy (what me & Betsy call the Among Us dragon pet lol) except brown 🙂.

I just preordered some official merchandise of another character that I like from Genshin; one set was sold out but I signed up for when it comes back in stock. Probably won’t be getting it for months (some of the shipping dates were as late as July and September) so it will be a very late birthday gift. I was very excited to find this store and it was officially licensed since I’ve been scammed by a site selling One Piece stuff before that wasn’t an official licensed company 😓. I wasn’t originally interested since I’d prefer an acrylic standee or figurine over pins & bookmarks, but they and the collection cards do look really nice and I can’t find much merchandise of him.
I’m hoping that the fact that they made some merchandise of him means they might make a unit for him 🤞; I don’t think they will (I’m very pessimistic right now about the game), but this still looks like a potentially good sign or at least that they see how much people like him.

I think it is almost time for dinner; hopefully my dad got the orders right this time and doesn’t eat mine by accident again (he messed up with the orders earlier; his demential is really bad).

I stopped working for helping a horrible neighbor.

I don't know whether to put this in here or the what is currently bothering you thread, but I feel like the relief overwhelms whatever concerns I still or may have had. It's a very complicated situation that I can't be bothered to type out fully. Not just because it's a lot to explain, but I don't want to offload all of that emotional baggage here of all places. But overall it's been an ongoing and complicated situation, for years, that my family forced me into. But now I just don't care and I'm free and they can deal with the ramifications of what they caused.

Because I'm free and focusing on myself now and cutting ties with everyone and anyone that doesn't understand that.

My sister and two of my nieces are here and just gave me some birthday cards (i got one from the youngest, one from the oldest and a card from my sister, her husband and the second oldest niece).

Finally submitted my lit review 😊 the past week was,, not fun ngl, but I’m very grateful I got it done in time. Have to prepare a 20-30 minute presentation based on it for a couple weeks time but I’m really grateful to be able to have a bit of a break ☺️

Also very grateful for my partner for supporting me through it 💙

In other things, I saw a rainbow this morning!

And I started doing a quest in a game last night that I’ve been wanting to do, the dialog is so silly so far I love it. Also excited to be able to catch up on some other quests, as well as some sleep HAH

Haven’t really been online much, but I hope everyone’s doing well! 😊
 
- My trial shift must have gone ok today, they offered me the job as soon as I got home 😅 Just waiting on some references before I can accept

- They also paid me for the shift immediately too, and since I deposited my birthday money today, it was like a little bonus payday :)

- Went grocery shopping after my trial shift and bought some delicious food! Couldn't resist having another Indian meal for dinner lol

Despite bad weather forecast, it's actually still nice and sunny
 
The first day of the four day weekend has been a success. 🥳

I had my first PT session in about a month, due to an awful CFS flare-up, and it was so great to be back in the gym. I ended up doing better than I expected after a month off. Squats still suck but hey we manage. It's always great chatting with my PT - it definitely makes the workout more enjoyable.

Had a fantastic interaction in a shop today. I'm a regular there and familiar with all the staff. The person on shift today always makes a point of chatting if the shop is empty when I go in. He was also able to recommend a new product too as my usual was discontinued - so far I'm impressed.

I posted this morning in WBY about my panic at realising we had run out of my cats dry food. Delta is a picky eater with a sensitive stomach, so originally finding a food he would want to eat that didn't bother his stomach was a challenge - and it isn't available in local shops. I think I found an okay temporary substitute until their regular food arrives after spending far too long analysing ingredient lists. They devoured it and broke their feeder (unsuccessfully) trying to get more. 😂 It's been 4.5hrs and Delta seems okay, so this may work until I can get his usual. I managed to fix the feeder too.

I got quite a few hours in on Fantasy Life (PS5) last night and today. I'm really enjoying this game. Well, the story not so much, it's not my vibe. But the gameplay is an absolute yes. The gameplay is the reason I bought it though so that doesn't really detract from the experience.

Tonight will be a relaxed evening. My partner is home and I picked us up a bottle of wine. Star Trek: Voyager or The Handmaid's Tale are on the cards. 🍷
 
Early post; not much happened yet but still want to post about now since posting usually helps me focus on the more positive things.

I feel like my mood is much better today even though I still feel my depression lingering.

Last night I did another pull in OPTC when I got more gems; I didn’t get the sugo fest unit I wanted but I got a rare recruit that I wanted :D.

Also got back the units I earned from the coop sugo-fest. Since the coop ended, I got one of the new sugofest units from a free ticket so it was a dupe by the time I got my rewards.
