I believe there could be a lot of interest in creating a fair marketplace if there was control on the NMT.
I am not pleased by the eradication of TBT. I loved TBT.
Because I just thought it was insane that I found a thread where green mums where 1 NMT each. I know they are the harder flowers to breed, but whatever happened to 2 TBT per hybrid? Jeez, miss those days. Seriously.
TBT was never eradicated. It's just currently not functioning on the new software, it'll return when staff figure out how to get it to work again.
I wonder if a way to create "price bands" would be to take the price nooks cranny buys an item for and then multiple that by a percentage and set a band around that.
Rather than trying to have dynamic process based off daily trades.
Another thought is you could setup a discord server just for trading...have mods there and use that as a way to award titles / kick people not following the rules. Upon signing up you could agree to the guild memorandum and be giving a provisional title.
I know a lot of the discord servers have trading channels but this way specific channels could exsist for say turnips crafting / specific player shops etc.
Those involved on a trade will post the outcome of the trade after it's conclusion, and people who try to scam others are added to a public list where everyone can see their names and avoid trading with them.
Yeah, that's why I asked about the current feedback system. I don't know if it's working, but it could be used for this purpose. People would be encouraged to trade with others who have good feedback, and discouraged to trade with those with negative feedback (if it exists, I don't know exactly how the system works by I can imagine it's some kind of scoring system?).I’m not trying to call you out for bad suggestions, because I really understand where you’re coming from and even agree on one level.
As is though, I’m pretty sure staff would frown upon blacklisting people in a thread.
I can see a few problems with it myself, tbh. Who keeps record of these ratings? Who is responsible for adding negative feedback about people, and how do they know whether the info they get from others is correct?
Keeping score of positive feedback is more feasible, as it rewards and encourages good conduct without harming anyone.
In regards to NL, I never paid for a hybrid. I either made them for myself (which I like doing) or was gifted to me. That was never a second thought. But I believe it now because of this little snafu: Started game March 19th was all good on the trades with the fruit (no one was asking for bells). I couldn't play the game for personal reasons for a couple of days so I guess I lost out on the free basic flower trade. Come back to the game wanting to trade flowers and people are charging NMT and insane amount of bells and to boot with all holy than thou attitudes. All I can say is "ICEBERG DEAD AHEAD!"I believe there could be a lot of interest in creating a fair marketplace if there was control on the NMT.

I intend to give whatever I have to spare, away. What about people who do not charge for anything? I like giving away villagers for free. It's part of the AC community. Its deeper than in game currency for me. It's the way people connect to this game and how they feel about villagers that help them escape RL. And part of the reason I like cycling is the ability to help people along the way.
So, would this guild allow people like myself, who like to giveaway villagers/items for free? Or would I wrinkle the economy?

Then sign me up! Plus being part of Guild would allow Guild members first access to Villagers and we would know that they are going to a good home!Important question! If interest in this idea keeps up I’ll add a FAQ with this one to the first post.
By my thinking, you’d be perfectly within guidelines to offer things for free—and very welcome to do so!
The idea behind the Guild is to bring the fun back into trading and support each other in building our Islands.
Okay, wait before I start assuming too much, will trade/buy/sell/giveaway be happening within the guild, between members only?
Or is this more like the guild is a honeybee hive and the members disperse here with fair prices in mind? Like members are more educated about pricing, etc.
I didn't get nso yet, but I'm sad to hear flower trade is difficult. I reset for windflowers, but maybe I should have stuck with roses if they are more popular for trade!
