pretty disappointed

earlier today, i was letting people visit my island for a meteor shower. i was about to close my gates when another person (don't want to point fingers!) had replied to my thread.

i thought "sure, why not" and dm'med them the rules and dodo code.

when they arrived, they didn't care to say hi to me. (it's not a big deal, but i'm just very sensitive :c)

they tried to look for celeste around my island, and while doing so, ran through my flowers,
which i clearly stated not to in my rules.

once they found celeste, they got the DIY and proceeded to shake my fruit trees and most importantly,
my money trees.

i don't think it was an accident considering they picked up the fruit and bags without giving them
back or apologizing.

i tried to block them from leaving by leaving my inventory window open.

they ended up giving back the money and fruit but they still didn't care to apologize before leaving.

although i did get my valuables back, i'm still angered that they flat out ignored my rules
and hadn't apologized. :c

damn..... i’m really sorry that happened to you :c and don’t feel bad for feeling bad about them not bothering to say hi to you - it’s rude to not greet someone or to not even use the ‘greetings’ reaction, especially if the person you’re visiting is allowing you to do so for free :c

Please, give them negative feedback and write about everything they did in the feedback comments. This may prevent them from doing the same thing to other members of this comm.

I'm sorry for this. People around here are, in my experience, generally kind, respectful and trustworthy. But, in every large community, there's always one or two people who will act with bad intentions in mind. They're outliers, but they're there.

Damn, I'm so sorry to hear that, and thanks for venting/sharing, lets others know to be vigilant when opening their island to randos. That was extremely rude of them, even the greeting thing, so I don't think you were being too sensitive.

i'm so sorry that happened to you! and dw you're not sensitive! i feel awful when people don't greet me either; it's just called manners, and the fact that they didn't bother even apologizing for shaking everything just shows how awful character they have. they didn't even bother reading the rules or acknowledging that what they did is wrong.

good for you that you managed to get your bells back! i hope you don't let this experience negatively impact your view on the community. and i hope this person doesn't try to interact again with you, and that they learn their lesson to not disrespect someone else's island like that again.

that absolutely sucks, and you're totally allowed to vent about it. please give them negative feedback, they definitely deserve it. in addition to breaking your clearly-stated rules, they went straight for your fruit and money trees, which is never okay without express permission.
