Have I lost my island forever? For real this time? Please tell me I haven't....

A few months ago I was having trouble transferring my island to a new switch and was terrified I had lost it forever, but I managed to restore it when I learned all I had to do was make my new switch my primary console. Well it's happened again, only now I think my island really is lost forever this time....

The new switch (which I've only had for a few months btw) started making really loud buzzing noises so I took it back to the second hand store I got it from. They said they couldn't do anything about it but they let me exchange it for another new one instead. I'm having trouble transferring my island all over again, I've tried the island backup thing with Tom Nook several times and it's not working. So I thought, maybe I could go to back to the second hand store and ask if I can borrow my old switch for a few minutes to try the island transfer tool instead. So I gave them a call this morning but they told me they've wiped the switch of it's save data by now.

Will making my new switch my primary console still solve this problem if all my old switch's memory has been wiped out? If not then....is that it? Is my island really lost forever this time? Please tell me there's another way to save it

Have you tried YouTubing it out of curiosity? In the past I’ve found some really helpful people with issues like this who know a lot more than I do.

What I will say, is that worst thing you can do if you want a chance to keep the save data is blindly click buttons, animal crossing new leaf for example? Can say your data is corrupted when it actually isn’t, and if you don’t know that and click to start a new town it’s gone forever without any way of getting it back.

I would prepare yourself for the worst case here sadly, because it sounds plausible it might be gone for good, but take your time in researching and asking around different communities (including switch specific ones) and maybe just maybe you’ll find a solution.
