pretty disappointed

Sometimes I struggle to say hi in chat and spam emotions or if I'm in a big hurry I may not use any at all but afterwards I make sure to explain myself so no one feels like I don't care. In this case though, this is just a lame person. Very lame. Leave negative feedback for sure, and I'm very sorry someone took advantage of your kindness.

that sucks to hear, sorry you went through that! i still can't wrap my head around the fact that there are people in the animal crossing community who steal and scam other, nicer people :/ that's so frustrating, i hope this doesn't taint your future trades/giveaways/etc with other people, since this forum specifically has so many kind people!

wtf im actually kinda mad just reading this. i would've reset just so she couldn't get away with the diys. they'd be better off in someone else's hands. bruhhh.

anyway, i'm sorry this happened to you. it sucks we have people like this especially when it's in a giveaway.
it was my first bad experience with ppl on TBT but honestly i just find it funny cause had she asked for an extra or waited until the giveaway was nearing closing (where I just let people take whatever they want) I would've let her take more! But now she's banned from coming to any of my future giveaways or events (tbh I wouldn't even let her in for a turnip spike, so her loss)

People on here keep saying "I don't get how there was no negative feedback!" and then describe the terrible behavior and then say "but i didn't leave any bad feedback".

Like... that's what the feedback system is THERE for. It's to protect yourself and others - if a thief or badly behaved person visits you and they're part of this forum, and you don't leave bad feedback, you're knowingly allowing them to continue and go, and victimize other users, who just see the 100% positive feedback.

I don't think i have ever seen, a single time, a person on this forum who had a non perfect feedback. It's either they dont have any feedbacks, or have 100% positive. Everyone seems terrified of using the system which rly defeats the purpose.

I don't wanna come off as sounding too preachy or judgy, cuz like - I have bad social anxiety myself. I totally get why it could be rly rly nervewracking to leave bad feedback and i don't blame ppl for having trouble doing it. But, like - you could at least contact an admin about it like people have said, that way there's no direct confrontation. Idk, i honestly feel like not reporting it in any way is kinda inconsiderate to other users of the forum, who knows how many others they'll steal from :c

Ughh I hope you left them bad feedback. I understand being mad about people not obeying the rules even if you technically didn’t lose anything, it’s irritating and makes you want to trust people less. That happened to me the other day when someone left quietly, which is specifically asked people to not do, ruining the crafting queue for everyone else.

what sucked in my case was that I had three people over and the game doesn’t tell you who left quietly (I was in the villager’s house to keep them crafting!), so I have no idea who it was. I didn’t want to leave negative feedback for the wrong person so I didn’t leave feedback for anyone.

I didn't give her bad feedback, but I will no longer allow her to any of my future giveaways!

Please do give people that have broken your rules or have done something shady negative feedback. It helps any of their future traders be cautious and alert of any suspicious actions they try to attempt again in the future.

As for OP, good job being smart and keeping them stuck on your island by opening your inventory. It's unfortunate about you money trees though, not sure if you can plant trees on other people's islands like you can with flowers, but I can offer the few money trees I have to replace yours if you'd like. Anyways, you should still leave them bad feedback even though you didn't lose anything at the end. They tried to get away with it, scot free.

Yes please make sure to give negative feedback if it happened here. To the people saying they had a bad experience with someone, but didn't leave negative feedback, that's like saying "you did this awful thing to me, but I'm going to keep it a secret so you have the opportunity to do this awful thing to other people too." I got curious and tried to look for your shooting stars thread but couldn't find it, but it sounds like it happened here, so I'm awfully sorry you had a bad experience. This community is usually really lovely!

Instead of thinking of it as a negative thing, think of it as helping others. It's not negative to potentially save other players from a stressful experience. I'm fairly new here, but the rating system made me feel at ease. But reading through this thread and seeing people admitting they don't leave negative feedback when it's more than warranted... well I'm not so stoked on this forum now that I know the rating system is essentially meaningless.

i just wish people would know better. it’s so ignorant and immature that they have to steal stuff from others to fulfill their needs. so sorry that happened to you!

i cant believe ppl think they can be this bold lol,,,i wouldnt even consider treating someone like this, feedback system or no. honestly readin stories like these always spikes my social anxiety, like who raised these ppl?? would they come to someones house irl and start absolutely trashing the place? this is why i prefer going to other ppls towns to trade things, i always get v anxious when ppl are in mine. all my experiences here and the two i've had on discord have been good so far but i'm dreading this happening to me lol.

earlier today, i was letting people visit my island for a meteor shower. i was about to close my gates when another person (don't want to point fingers!) had replied to my thread.

Are you sure that this happened on this website? I can't find your thread in post history.

Something similar happened to me. One of my friends (that I know in real) was best friends' status. I've known her for two years so I trusted her. She came to my island because I needed help with the layout and some decoration placement. She helped me a little and told me she had to AFK for 5 mins so I said okay and left her where she was (which was a mistake). I went inside my house to craft things for like 10 mins and the next thing I knew she was leaving my island without saying anything. I didn't think much of it until I walked back where we were and everything was gone... lots of nook miles items, crescent moon chair, giant teddy, nova light, lunar rover, and other beach-themed items. I couldn't believe it. She's been to my island countless times and this time she stole from me. She denied it at first then admitted to stealing from me after she called me childish. That irked me but not as much as "chill it's just a (bleep) game..." 😑

You mean, one of your ex-friends, yeah? ;)
Cut that toxicity out of your life and thank your lucky stars for Animal Crossing revealing her true nature before she could do some real irl damage.

feedback system is there for a reason! if someone tried any funny business w me i would absolutely leave them bad feedback, i dont care if my name's attached to it. i'd want them to know it was me tbh

ahaha I was looking too but couldn't find it, but it sounds like it happened here! I was quite curious to see who this person was that caused all this trouble, but it seems it will remain a mystery for now

Im really sorry this happened to you. You are in your complete right to be upset and leave a negative review. It gives a headup for the rest of us, but do what feels right to you. I hope that anything like thishappens to you again. I’ve met nothing but incredibly lovely people on TBT, so please don’t feel discouraged

One time I saw someone visiting my island and start picking DIYs and learning that in front of me, which I said not to pick anything on the ground. So I just immediately press the Power button on the switch, so it caused an internet error, nothing saved

Well at least now I've given her negative feedback (my sister was telling me to be a "karen" LOL) so tbh? thanks for encouraging me to give her negative feedback!

I don't wanna say "that's great!" because of the subject matter lol but, I totally get it. It'd be hard for me to leave bad feedback, too, but we gotta do what we can to help those around us. So genuinely, good job for doing something difficult!
