The scent of smoky incense and softly glowing lights, twinkling with the hopes of the new year, draws you toward a familiar panther’s stall. Chimes sway and brush against one another; it feels like the perfect place to leave behind the burdens of the old year and welcome what’s to come.
You take a seat before her, and Katrina smiles, greeting you as if she’d been expecting you all along.
“Another year closes...” the fortune-teller murmurs, "I see... the path ahead is not yet fixed. Words - small in stature, offered with great intent - will have a way of gently guiding one’s fate…”
This year, instead of reading fortunes alone, Katrina is asking for your help! You’re invited to write a short New Year’s fortune that another member will receive. Once the event closes, Katrina will gather your words and weave the threads of fate together. Through her magic, each participant will receive the message they were destined to hear!
How To ParticipateWrite a short New Year’s fortune (1-2 sentences). Fortunes should be positive, supportive, or playfully lighthearted. Animal Crossing themed fortunes are encouraged, but not required!
- The turnip market of life swings in your favor.
- Small steps forward will matter more than big leaps this year.
- Good fortune approaches. Please clear some pocket space!
- View obstacles with wonder instead of fear, and you will see your dreams flourish this new year.
- Stop and smell the flowers, but don't forget to water them too.
- All batteries need recharging. That applies to your devices and to you.
Submit your fortune to the Pocket Prophecies Submissions Board before Sunday, January 11th, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. Please only put the text you wish to send in the 'Your Submission' field. The thread title and message field will not count as your entry.
Submission Guidelines- You are free to use either your own words or share a favorite nugget of wisdom that has inspired you. Whether original or passed down through time, any message rooted in positivity will be embraced by the fates.
- Only one fortune per member may be submitted, otherwise some fortunes would be lost to the void!
- You may edit your entry up until Sunday, January 11th, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. Any edits made after this time will not be counted.
- You may be asked to resubmit if your entry lacks sufficient detail or does not follow event guidelines (e.g., incomplete sentences, negative or discouraging messages).
- Your entry must be suitable for a PG-13 audience and must not violate our Rules and Guidelines.
