recreated a family christmas potluck i had with my paternal side of the family, i'm actually closer to my paternal side than my maternal side

it was really fun! we stacked all the gifts by the christmas tree and it was truly taking up half of the living room, everyone was tasked to bring a dish from my aunt (the one hosting,) we had a gingerbread house decorating contest, and it was just a nice chance to catch up with everyone amidst the hectic holiday period.

my sister and i were tasked with all the cookies, i want to say that baking a total of 100+ cookies within 2 days maybe wasn't the smartest of plans but it worked out and they were a really big hit!!

The one thing I'm anticipating for this year is my 18th birthday, because that's basically going to make me a legal adult! Now I have to deal with a lot of grown-up stuff like graduating high school, getting a job, going to college, having a bank account + debit card (and paying taxes), and learning to drive. It's nice to have more autonomy, but I wonder if I can handle all that responsibility...

My original plan was to get my BFF @ZeldaCrossing64 involved so we could re-enact us constructing a slumber island for the upcoming ACNH 3.0 update, but we can't play together due to circumstances beyond our control so we had to scrap that idea. I took the photos for this current entry a few days earlier just in case, hence why the proof photo is dated on the 4th.

I decided to create a scene of something I'm looking forward to in 2026 which is spending time on creative hobbies and crafting! I tried to reference a few specific project goals of mine including making storage boxes, embroidery, dyeing/restoring some thrifted leather shoes, and sewing some pyjamas.

I had some difficulty with this one since 2025 has been extremely rough for me. I ended up picking the Among Us sessions as one of the moments that has been most enjoyable for me. Even when things were rough when I hosted, I still had so much fun; the sessions were a nice distraction from some things that I was struggling with at the time and they helped destress me.

I'm looking forward to being more productive with my art because i finally got a PC and my set up is much more suitable to work properly vs. what it was a few months ago! It's still a work in progress but I'm a lot more comfortable and getting the appropriate peripherals really helps.

This year, I was able to hang out with friends a bit more consistently! This scene represents one of the hang-outs I've had with my partner and two close friends, sitting on the floor, chatting and playing games together! I've been grateful for the wonderful people in my life this year ​

My moment I am looking forward to in 2026, is moving into my own flat for the first time! I am soo excited to have all my friends around for dinner parties and movie nights. It's the first time I'll have a space all to myself, and it's going to be a great start to the year!

In 2025 I went on a vacation by the sea to the most amazing place with this huge house all for us, big garden, and a smaller fun house we could use anytime. It had jacuzzi and sauna inside, with a covered outdoor area with a billiard table, foosball table and a sound system. I had an incredible time on that short break, it's my favorite place from all of 2025 and I just can’t wait to go back in 2026!

A big goal of mine has been to earn the top 5% badge in Splatoon 3’s Salmon Run event Eggstra Work. It’s been 3 years in the making and way too many times of coming in just shy, but finally in May of 2025 a group of my friends and I (it’s a teamwork type mode) got there.

I tried to recreate visiting Nikko from our Japan trip. I also bought a simple blue kimono in Japan and we took a few pictures of me in it.

Didn't really have much time to hang with friends in 2025, but I cherished the movements when I got the chance. My friend and I went to dinner at an ocean side restaurant. It was one of my most peaceful, relaxing moments of 2025!

I chose a nice memory from 2025 :]

I usually visit my grandpa's grave with family, and I love them, but they spend their time mostly reading bible verses and scolding my younger cousins. Those visits usually left me tense. This year was the first one where I went to pay respects on my own, and it was a lovely experience. The ability to quietly tend to his overgrown grave in the early morning was something that really stood out to me. It was a moment where something routine became something new.

I waited until the last minute to participate in my own event (despite having the idea in mind for weeks ), but the moment from 2025 that I chose to represent is me playing Outer Wilds! It quickly became not just my favorite game from 2025, but my third most favorite game of all-time! I split the scene into me playing it on the left and the actual game itself on the right, and I decided to use the cover art of the player character sitting by the campfire as inspiration for the game portion of my scene, since I want to avoid spoiling anything for anybody who hasn't played it!

Some of my favourite moments of 2025 is just hanging out with my friends, most of the time its just chilling in a basement playing video games, or board games, or chatting, but no matter what its always fun! I tried to replicate my basement set up in ac lmao

My biggest moment in 2025 was starting a new job! I left my job as a vet tech of 5 years to start a new adventure as an adoption counselor for my local animal shelter. While closing the vet tech chapter of my life was bittersweet (I loved it and may go back one day), I love my new job. It's rewarding in a different way and I love setting furry friends up with their purrfect families!

This isn’t a moment from 2025 but a moment that will happen in about a week and a half which I’m so excited for - my birthday! I’m very bad at birthday planning and often won’t plan anything at all but this year I’m going to play DND with my closest friends and my partner is going to host a one shot for us as he is a professional DM!!! I’m so excited, truly.

My meaningful moment was at my best friend’s wedding reception when Mr. Brightside started playing and a bunch of us millennials got on the dance floor and started gleefully dancing in a circle! I’m extremely shy, so dancing in front of people is normally something I’d never do. But I was having so much fun that night, that my fear melted away!

one of my top 5 favourite moments in 2025 was when Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream was announced !! the indescribable excitement and disbelief I felt hearing that silly robotic Mii voice is unparalleled!
