It's time for you to step in and help them out on their journey!
Your Task
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, showcase a villager of your choosing with 5 items you want to provide them to help make 2026 their best year ever! Arrange the items alongside the villager, take a screenshot in-game AND include a short description of why you chose that villager and why you want to give them those 5 items!
How to Submit
Once your scene has been created, post the following within this thread by Sunday, January 11th, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST:
- Two screenshots: One featuring your chosen villager alongside the 5 items you chose for them, and one of your player character in the scene saying your TBT username
- A short description describing why you chose that villager and why you're giving them those 5 items
- Both screenshots attached to your post
- The "entry" checkbox checked on your completed scene's attachment. (See this post from a previous event if you're unsure how.)
Rules
- All entries must be original. No copying from someone else or submitting something you found elsewhere.
- You must have the villager and the 5 items together in one screenshot.
- Your entry must contain a short description describing:
- Why you chose that villager.
- What 5 items you're providing them and why.
- A sufficient amount of detail must be present in your entry.
- Your entry must be suitable for a PG-13 audience and must not violate our Rules and Guidelines.
- Your entry must contain two screenshots: the scene and the proof.
- Do not edit your screenshots.
- Do not edit your post after submitting unless asked to do so by a staff member.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does the villager have to live on my island?
A: Nope! If you have an amiibo card of a villager you'd rather use, feel free to use them instead!
Q: Can I use an NPC instead of a villager?
A: I'm afraid not!
Q: May other player characters, villagers, or NPCs be in the screenshots?
A: No. Please limit the characters in the screenshots to just the villager you're choosing and your island representative.
Q: Is there a word limit to the description?
A: While there isn't a true word limit, it should be short! Please don't write a novel about the choices you made!
Q: Do the 5 items need to be realistic choices in any way?
A: Nope! Feel free to get as creative as you want with them.
Q: Should the 5 items be placed indoors or outdoors?
A: You can place them inside or outside, wherever you have room.
Q: What items count towards the 5 item limit?
A: Most things will count! Furniture, food, clothing, creatures, and so forth are allowed to be used! The only things that don't count are:
- Planted plants such as trees or bushes (picked flowers, fruits, or vegetables are okay!)
- Partition walls, counters, pillars
- Carpets/rugs
- Ceiling decor
Q: What do you mean by placed item?
The item on the left is a dropped item. Most items done like that won't be accepted.
Your items must be placed like shown on the right. The only exceptions are things that can't normally be placed like bell bags, picked fruits, and picked vegetables.
Q: Do I need to name the specific item?
A: No, but you must explain what it is for! For example, instead of saying "Homework Set", you can call it "research documents" in order to be more creative.
Q: Can I use items from the Happy Home Paradise DLC?
A: Yes, you may.
Q: Can I use custom designs created by other people?
A: Of course!
Q: Can I exclude my player character from the scene?
A: Yes. However, they must still be in your proof photo saying your TBT username.
Q: I can’t upload screenshots. Can I submit a photo of my screen instead?
A: You may, but please remember to take two photos: one of the scene, and one of your proof within the same scene. If you opt to take a photo of your screen, please ensure the photo is clear. Otherwise, you may be asked to resubmit.
Q: Can I use a custom design that says my TBT username instead of showing my character saying it?
A: Yes, this would be fine!
