Ketchup or tomato sauce? What's the difference?!

in australia we don't really have 'ketchup' i don't think at least...​

Tomato sauce is thicker/chunkier and used for spaghetti. I hate spaghetti, so I prefer ketchup.

Us Australians have both ketchup and tomato sauce. Ketchup (brands like Heinz) is thicker compared to tomato sauce but tomato sauce is more common for us. Most of it is imported anyway haha.

Well they're both absolutely disgusting in my opinion!
They also both taste a lot different to me... I don't know how to describe. Ketchup is more... like the texture of wet glue.. and then tomato sauce is.. well.. sauce. (and ketchup smells horrifically bad and tomato sauce smells good)

Yup. Ketchup is typically full of high fructose corn syrup blech, but there are brands that keep it natural.

Ketchup is just something you use usually on "fast food", sure you can use it on cooking, but it isn't as healthy as tomato sauce while tomato sauce is mostly used for cooking, not only spaghetti but there's plenty of food you can create with tomato sauce.

I don't eat either. I only use tomato sauce when I'm making pizza but I don't go and eat spoonfuls or anything.

Ketchup is a condiment made using tomato paste and tomato sauce. You might put it on hot dogs or burgers.

Tomato sauce is a sauce made out of tomatoes, used on pizza and in a lot of pasta dishes.

And I like ketchup. Tomato sauce makes me gag.

no no! It's different! the one on pasta we cook of course (i am half italian) but the cold one is for the fries and hotdogs... we just call them the same idk why i guess because they are both tomato? we also have cold bbq sauce! (not for pasta ew)

You can't exactly choose?
If I'm eating fries I put ketchup on them. If I'm eating pasta then I put tomato sauce.

I hate both of them equally.I like my stuff plain usually and that means no sauce whatsoever.I eat my french fries plain,the only thing I don't eat plain is like a tiny amount of soy sauce to my cooking and waffles
