this, along with what ron said in previous post, is pretty much what I was trying to get at.Olivia! said:Every once and a while you come by something really special on TBT, a friend. Members, who you feel that are the reason you stay on TBT. I have had many friends, ones that had faded away from "friendlabel" due to my inactivity. I find that you meet people with all types of personalities and they are from all around the world. The internet is a great place to meet new people, however you should always be careful.
Most of the time I'll be with my friends, however they go to sleep-away camp and all of that. They'll send me post cards but sometimes I'm still lonely.... so I'll hop on to the computer and I'll talk to some people on TBT through PM. They might be from the UK, Europe, China or maybe right here at New York. However you never stop talking to them, there are a million topics. You could talk about life or maybe your favorite singer :b But, there is always a certain thing that keeps you going on TBT just to see if you have a new message. It's a special bond I guess, I mean you could say whatever you want, but you know the reason you talk to them is because both of you share something special.

To the point to where we actually have plans to meet. My closest internet companion and I have actually traveled from florida to texas and vice versa more than once to meet.
The fact of the matter is internet folks are people too, it's the same deal as real life, except you don't have appearances to cloud your judgement. Be smart, and you'll find that they're just as if not more reliable than irl people, who use appearance as a judgement source.
<3 I love you too.Lisamilitz said:Internet friends are awesome, it's easier to find friends over internet that you actually like than in real life. When you talk to them over the internet for a couple years, you get to the point where you want to meet them! So I'm really hoping to meet a lot of ya'll.
Kelsi, Peter, Alfred, Holden, Lexi, and others ^.^
Sakura left TBT, you do know that, right?Miku said:I like internet friends because they share the same interests as me unlike some of my RL friends. I have friends mainly from Eastern Asia like Hong Kong or the Philippines. I usually make friends at LiveJournal or Facebook but I prefer LiveJournal since the community doesn't have a lot of people who show what they look like.
But I have TBT friends too. Like Sakura, Nook, Rockman, Lisa, and prob more. ^^

You don't have to be an *censored.1.3* to be cool, you know. Why can't people just be nice to one another? And it's ironic that most of the people who act all tough and mean on the internet are probably really nice people in person. All I'm left wondering is...why? Why do people act this way online? It's not making you any "cooler", nor is it making you look good in any way.
But not all people online are bad. I've made quite a few friends just here at TBT. I even met my fianc

Pretty much everything Micah has been saying. lolComatose said:I have a life. I also have social anxiety disorder which SUCKS. Usually it doesn't bleed over into my internet conversations which is why I prefer online conversations to face-to-face ones. It's easier for me to convey my thoughts without the added baggage.Nic said:That just made you seem like you have no life.Comatose said:I love talking to people online, both people I've never met, and my closest friends.
I have quite a few really close friends whom I have met over the internet that I would trust my life with. These are people I've known for quite some time and met in a serious setting, so they're not some forum noob.
I do have quite a few friends IRL too.![]()
