I think that the way the majority of people act on the internet is ridiculous. So many people have been brainwashed to abide by the ways of 4chan. You don't have to be an *censored.1.3* to be cool, you know. Why can't people just be nice to one another? And it's ironic that most of the people who act all tough and mean on the internet are probably really nice people in person. All I'm left wondering is...why? Why do people act this way online? It's not making you any "cooler", nor is it making you look good in any way.

But not all people online are bad. I've made quite a few friends just here at TBT. I even met my fianc

orlynao?
mmhmm. in fact I can be one of the nicest people you know if you're on my good side.
Then why don't you act like that online?!

Seriously, do you feel the need to act "cool" online or something?
I'm not shy/not outspoken at all on the internet. edit: IRL I'm very reserved/not talkative. i worded that wrong.

in my case, it's almost a release when i'm on the internet.

think of it as cheap therapy, i guess.

or the way a really wimpy kid can beat up on other kids that could kick his ass 10 times over, irl.

something like that. also, internet =/= srs bzns.

I have no real Internet friends. I dunno why, I've just never really established a friendship with anyone online.

I like internet friends because they share the same interests as me unlike some of my RL friends. I have friends mainly from Eastern Asia like Hong Kong or the Philippines. I usually make friends at LiveJournal or Facebook but I prefer LiveJournal since the community doesn't have a lot of people who show what they look like.

But I have TBT friends too. Like Sakura, Nook, Rockman, Lisa, and prob more. ^^
Sakura left TBT, you do know that, right?
Don't remind me.

I'm the youngest of the TBT Viet Trio Duo now. D'=

You should talk to Jenniderp and Megamanatee. They have cybersex, I hear.

Many people use the internet a a mask of anonymity, a way to be a jerk without it following them in real life. I think that is just stupid, cause it accomplishes nothing. That is not to say that anonymity is a bad thing either because it can really help people show who they really are when they are to shy in real life.

I was always a shy kid, but the internet actually helped me come out of my shell simply because I knew I wasn't as abnormal as I thought I was. There were plenty who felt as I did about various subjects, and many other who have many situations that feel oddly familiar.

But it also shows how different people can be as well.

Now my internet persona is just another extension of myself, I try to be me. As far as relationships like friends and what not, it is more or less how I am with normal people. Some you talk with more, others drift away slowly. Just be glad for the friends you have and make no matter where you are, online or not they are still people.

Really as someone who moves around a lot, the internet has allowed me to talk with people I would have lost contact with otherwise. For that I am glad. I miss a lot of people, some I knew online and others off, but there is no way I could stay in contact with everyone, so for the ones I have, I am grateful.
