How many different personality types do you have living on your island?

I actually have all 8 currently, with an extra Snooty and Cranky! (Vic + Curt and Whitney + Fauna)

Are you sure you don’t have two Normals (as Fauna is a Normal)?

I am probably an oddball here with the least number of personality types. I only have three so far which is peppy, normal, and snooty.

I am not really into smug and jock villagers. For the rest, I am quite neutral.

But, after playing the game for a few months, I realize that I can't bond with the normal type. The personality is too bland. I used to love the normal personality in Wild World and New Leaf, so I don't know why I'm not feeling the same way this time around. After letting a few normal types go (including Goldie and Coco), I've decided that I won't make a point of making sure I have at least one normal on my island. Same goes for the snooty personality.

That's not to say I won't ever have a normal or a snooty. If it happens, it happens. But I'm not going out of my way to make it happen. I will, instead, invite any animal I find interesting regardless of personality.

Right now, I have 3 lazy, 2 cranky, 2 peppy, a smug, a sisterly and a jock. I'll probably let a lazy go next. Or maybe a peppy.

I have all 8 and I rotate the remaining 2 slots through each personality type to see if I find anyone I like better than one of my main 8.

I agree with @CrankyCupcake though, Normals are way too blah this time around. Passive comments like 'I'm just trying to make the most of my day' aren't doing it for me. Then you have the Normals that give off the vibe that they're a little...slow. I moved Lucy in to see what she was like, and she's just obsessed with turning the nearby water fountain on and off...that's how she makes the most of her day...

The reason why you probably can't get along with normals is because Nintendo botched their dialogue this time around. I used to be the same; Normals were even one of my favs, but now all they say "Let's make this day a great one" or something like that. I miss when they would talk about their cooking and reading! They were so studious yet fun. Now, they're lifeless.

because i really suck with variety, i currently only have 5; 4 normals help, 1 peppy, 3 lazies, 1 jock and 1 cranky. i bet you can imagine just how repetitive the dialogue has become >_<

I finally got puddles to move so I could move in a normal to complete the 8. I had such a hard time deciding too between June and Melba but in the end, I decided to try out June for a bit.

Currently, I have:
2 lazies (Filbert, of course, and Sherb)
2 peppies (Bluebear and Audie)
1 jock (Bam)
1 snooty (Diana)
1 sisterly (Fuchsia)
1 cranky (Cyd, who I didn’t want to like but I luv him)
1 smug (Raymond)
1 normal (June)

I really wish we had room for more. I miss Bunnie, and Chrissy and Francine, peanut, static, marshal. Omg. I need 20 plots Nintendo!!!!

I’m very picky. I like cutesy and certain exterior to go with my island.

I try to keep it to 8, but I'm having trouble finding villagers I like within certain personality types (Uchi, Snooty).

Which makes it even harder when I have to choose only one, max two villagers in personalities I like more (Lazy, Normal, Jock).

Alfonso and Zucker- Lazy
Julian and Marshal- Smug
Lily, Melba, Marina- Normal
Wolfgang- Cranky
Diana- Snooty

I can't stand the Jock personality so I don't want them on my island. (Had Dom at one point, but he didn't last long xD). And I don't really care for the uchi villagers all that much. But I do want to eventually have one to unlock more reactions.
As for peppy- I just kicked Audie off my island who was my only peppy. I plan on replacing one of my normals with a peppy at some point though.

I have 7 different personalities at the moment (3 normals, 2 crankies, and 1 lazy, snooty, smug, peppy and jock each). The most I’ve had in the past is 3 lazies and 4 normals at once.

I would love to get either Pashmina or Muffy as my sisterly but I’m really happy with my current lineup of villagers. I love the diversity of personalities, but having all eight isn’t that important to me. I don’t want to knock back having a “dreamy” on my island just because they’re a personality duplicate.

On another note, I once visited a dream island (from Twitter I think) which had 8 (!!!) normal villagers I love normals, but even I’d admit that’s too much.

If I never talked to my villagers, I could see Normals being quite easy to acquire eight of just because there are so many cute ones! But even as a fellow Normal apologist, that's just... too many if you want to talk to them ever because they're alllll gonna wanna tell you how much there is to see when out for a walk, etc. Normals could probably withstand the most duplicates because they're a little bland but pleasant already, but I would think anything more than four tops would be a nightmare.

I’ve had all personalities to get the reactions but now I only have 7 because no matter who I try I just cannot get on with the jock personality types. I’ve tried Roald, Dom and others and just nope.

Since they have same dialogue I really prefer to have all personalities type to get different varieties of dialogue with them.
