How many different personality types do you have living on your island?

Two snooties, two crankies, 1 smug, 1 normal, 1 jock, two lazies and 1 uchi. 7 villagers.

I was trying to look for a peppy but I got sick of island hopping and took another cranky.

I really need someone to move out and I'd like it to be a snooty.

Right now 6, I try to have 8 but it depends on who I pick up from the islands. I don't have a permanent normal or peppy at the moment.

I currently have all 8 personalities on my island.

I might eventually replace Diva and bump down to 7 since, while I like her, she's a bit redundant because she has an Ancient Egyptian house and I already have Ankha as my Ancient Egyptian representative and my Snooty. It won't be anytime soon even f I decide to get rid of her though, since I made multiple player characters and would probably want them to get the Sisterly exclusive Reactions. I like the Sisterly personality but none of them really fit my island's theme. It all might be a moot point though, I might just keep her around if only to avoid the repetitive dialogue of having two of the same personality.

I have all of them except a snooty. I'm hoping one of my 3 normals will ask to move out soon and I can replace them with a snooty though, I like having all the personalities.

I have 4 personality types:
- Lazy (5 neighbors)
- Normal (3 neighbors)
- Uchi (1 neighbor)
- Snooty (1 neighbor)

Basically, I tend to go off based on house exterior, character design, and personality (in that order). As you can see, I really love the lazy boissss . They’re always so cute and soft. But anyways, I’m not as concerned with getting all personality types, and it’s never interested me.

For anyone who has all 8: do you consider the things I listed (exterior, design, personality) when choosing one type? I imagine it’s difficult if you’re trying to go for a specific theme for your island.

I personally go:

1. Personality (cause having more than one of the same personality gets too repetitive for me u less its one of my faves - sisterly, smug, and snooty)
2. Species - my island is names after the city of deer so I made sure 50% of my villagers are deer, and the other 5 are all different species
3. Appearance
4. House interior: this is where I've had to reject so many great villagers. Apart from my deer, all of my villagers have roles in the town and I like their house interiors to reflect that. For example Raymond's interior looks like an office so I gifted him an anatomical model and some other stuff to make it look like a clinic and now he's the town doc. And Pashminas house interior is literally a diner so she runs the local diner

2. Omg I love that! Deer are my favorite animal type for AC, so I have 4 of them (Fauna, Deirdre, Erik, and Beau). Do you prefer the girls or the boys? Or does it even matter, haha.
3. Yup, yup. This is a big one for me too. All my neighbors are pretty neutral-colored besides Kidd and Nan, but they go with late autumn (purple & black).
4. Ohhh, that’s interesting! I don’t consider interior toooo much, but I will put decor around my neighbors’ houses if it goes with it. Although, I also try to make the decor match the theme of my island, so it can be difficult. I guess I’ve just been lucky and had pretty good interiors that I’m all right with.

But now that I know that there are certain personalities I need a balance plus if more than 2 of my villagers were saying the same thing I'd probably just talk to one of them at the beginning of the day and then ignore the others since I already know what they're going to say
I love them all but I guess I love the girls more cause my island is currently 3 girls and 2 guys (fauna, deirdre, diana, erik, and zell <- my fav). I had Bam and Lopez at some point too but had to let them go to make room for others (and their blue-ness felt a little off). wbu?
Yeah I like the more natural-colored villagers too. My only villager thats an unnatural color would be Wolfgang because I'm a sucker for point coloration in animals.
Luckily I haven't had to worry much about how their house exteriors looked cause that would make it even harder to pick villagers for my island it took me weeks to pick and find my current roster and I doubt I'll change it any time soon

But now that I know that there are certain personalities I need a balance plus if more than 2 of my villagers were saying the same thing I'd probably just talk to one of them at the beginning of the day and then ignore the others since I already know what they're going to say

I would play that way too! It wasn’t until picking up NL that I started paying attention to who I was having in my town/island. I actually prefer the boys! Although it’s a really close call, lol! I try to balance the genders, so I have 5 boys and 5 girls on my island. (Had to end up balancing the deers too because of that.) I love Lopez, but I replaced him with Beau since Beau’s exterior is a cabin and therefore matches my autumn mountain theme.

Lol, the naturalness makes it easy to blend. Wolfgang’s not too bad color-wise! At least it isn’t someone like Pierre.

Oh jeez, I can only imagine . That makes sense. I paid too much attention to exterior once I figured out what I wanted my island to be, so I had to move other neighbors out.

Nowadays, I'm always bouncing between seven or eight villager personality types. I currently have doubles of snooty, sisterly, and normal villagers. I love listening to the different voice ranges of the various villager personality types. XD

I’ve had all 8 at some point but only 7 currently on my island. I’m missing an uchi right now. I used to have a few but once I got their reactions I let them go!

I have 5 because my favorite villagers seem to have repeating personalities. Most fall into a clean double except for peppy and smug (I could not resist getting Raymond when he showed up in my campsite, sorry Ketchup).

Snooty: Diana and Judy

Peppy: Audie

Lazy: Sherb and Stitches

Smug: Marshal, Raymond, and Julian

I have all 8 because I wanted the diverse dialogue. I have doubles of normal and lazy, because those personalities had my favorite designs.

Also, it always bums me out how everyone seems to always be like "I've got everyone but sisterly 'cause I hate them all". Sisterly is literally my favorite personality and I love so many of them

I've long since gotten all reactions and regular DIYs but I can't bring myself to have any less than 7 (I have 8 right now). It just gets too repetitive without a diverse selection imo. My island doesn't have a specific theme and I move out villagers pretty soon after I get their pictures anyway so not worried about exteriors or matching schemes/themes.
