Yep, never played the older DQ games so I wouldn't be able to know xD I'm happy to find that there are more physically strong female characters than I thought! Too bad this one seems to be rarely mentioned and thus overlooked :c

You're very welcome! Haha, DQIV is actually a really amazing game and way before its time. It had a wonderful "chapter" system that played like pieces of a story coming together, and a very colorful cast of 8 main characters. It was also the first game I can remember from that early on that you CHOOSE whether you wanted the hero to be male or female. Which I thought was amazing. And Alena was a frickin' powerhouse. She also had the highest luck and speed of all the characters, so she'd often attack first and deal critical blows for massive damage. Plus she originally escapes from her castle and father by literally breaking her wall down by kicking it. She's freakin' awesome.
Dragon Quest IV was later remade for the DS with much better graphics than the NES days. Hahaha.
