I must admit when a new console is coming, I completely stop to play the old one. I applies 3DS of course, like PS3 and PS4 if I updated mine (I switched to computer). So when the Switch came, I abandoned 3DS and I'll do the same with my current one when new Animal Crossing will come.
I actually stopped playing for a long while once the eshop closed. But.. uhh, unsure if allowed to discuss methods of obtaining games without the eshop, but since THAT happened to me.. and since I've gotten a new charger, lol! I've been having lots of fun on it ;w; I actually impulsively purchased the New Leaf edition of the 3DS XL! She's soooo pretty too <3 A friend of mine kinda scolded me for the condition of it on the listing, but I think it's safe to say it's in pretty great condition! I think the only reason it was listed as fair was due to the scratched clear shell that it came with. I plan on replacing it since I have a habit of dropping my devices.. >< But I've had the case off for a while now, and I've kept her pretty safe! ^^
I've been playing A TON of AC:NL and Pokemon games :3 I have yet to receive a Streetpass encounter though; despite taking both of my consoles everywhere with me T^T
Actively using it to play A Link Between Worlds. I don’t even turn off my 3DS when I’m not playing it. I just shut it and put it on the charging dock. For Ocarina of Time 3D, I had it this way for weeks. Then right after I beat the game I started up Majora’s Mask 3D. I didn’t turn my 3DS off at all for that playthrough, which was exactly two months. (February 14, 2025 - April 14, 2025) So my 3DS was powered on for at least three and a half months. When I finished MM3D, I finally let my 3DS take a quick rest. It was off for a week and a half until I got the not defunct copy of A Link Between Worlds. My 3DS has been powered on ever since. Once I’m done with the game, I’ll let my 3DS rest again. I have a Tomodachi Life save file but I haven’t played it since summer 2023. I think I’ll stop using my 3DS for good when I complete Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. But that’s a long way off. I think it’ll be done for good by at least late 2026, if not mid 2027.
It's so nice to see that people still appreciate the 3ds. I like how 3DS games weren't focusing too much on realistic graphics that eat up majority of modern game's development time and cost.
I put 3 hours into New Leaf yesterday and have played my 3DS almost as much my Switch this month.
I don't play my 2DS as much anymore. I really want to get to playing "Mario and Luigi's Inside Story," "Pokemon Omega Ruby," and "Harvest Moon Tale of Two Towns." But i'm sooooooo lazy *sigh*
I don't use my 3DS very much nowadays, but it still works perfectly and it's nice for the occasional RPG game. The 3DS has a ton of RPGs that aren't on modern consoles and it's nice being able to play them without having to rely on annoying emulators. That said, after being so used to games in HD, going back to a tiny 240p screen is pretty difficult. Games on the console are so much more pixelated than I remember when I was a kid.
My 3DS XL is one of my most treasured consoles and I play quite a bit on it.
I wish I had more time to play on it more often, but I don't travel as much as I used too and it's excellent for that. qwq
Just last night, I restarted Rhythm Heaven Megamix because I wanted to play RH Groove already, but it's not coming out until next year. I'm not interested in any other game coming out till the end of the year, apart from Legends Z-A's DLC, and my most awaited Tomba 2 port (release it already, LRG!!!).
