Cosmic Cosmetics [Submissions Closed]

My look was inspired by Kabuki!! I wish i could actually do the makeup irl but my skin is giving me hell atm lmao For those who don't know, Kabuki is actually a style of traditional Japanese theater!! In my makeup look, i tried for a modern interpretation of Kabuki style makeup >3< The whole face would be painted white and I tried to stay loyal to his facial markings but for the eyebrows i decided that Hikimayu (引眉 - they shave off their eyebrows and painted new ones on) suited it well. The yellow eyeshadow is a reference to Kabuki's yellow scleras. The bottom waterline would be tightlined with a white eyeliner along with bold white mascara for both the top and bottom lashes.

My look was inspired by Celia! I have had her in New Leaf, and I fell in love! She has some blush on originally, so I did my best to make it look like her blush. I thought she had a heart on her lips, but she doesn't. I thought it looked good on the model! Celia has some hints of green, so I put green eyeshadow on her!​

not the best aha, but mine is inspired by flurry
My inspiration comes from flurry, her overall design just reminds me of winter. I incorporated the pastel blues and pinks from her design and included a little snowflake on her cheek! The eyebrows are just like how they are on flurry and I was inspired by her mouth to add pink blush. I also added some accent pink eyeliner with pastel blue eyeshadow to fit with the colour scheme.

My makeup look was inspired by the one and only clown sheep, Pietro! He’s so bright and colorful and I really like his overall aesthetic as I love loud colors. Regarding the different coloured brows, I think he’s the type of professional clown to be dedicated enough to set his brows everyday in wacky colors.
Anyway, he’s definitely one of the most memorable AC characters in-game and I hope to invite him to my island someday soon.
I obviously have no idea what I’m doing I suck at digital art, or any art for that matter hahaha *insert internal crying here*.

This is my submission for a makeup look based on my favorite villager, Merengue. I used her strawberry horn as inspiration for the eyeliner design, which is a gradient green (to represent the leaves) to the polka dotted red liner (to represent the strawberries and tiny seeds). For the eyebrow and lip-color I drew directly from the range of pink colors in her overall design. Merengue also wears heavy blush, which I chose to feature on her cheeks. I also gave her thick and dark lashes, which represent her prominent eyelashes in the game. I feel as though Merengue would prefer an overall soft and muted pink style with a small but bold pop of color!

My entry is based on Stella! I chose her based on the fact that her cookie in pocket camp is themed around dreams and sleeping. Her design is simple so I decided to tie in aspects of her cookie and made her eyes blue for the daytime sky. I tried my best to create ombre hair from darker to lighter pink similar to how her wool is!

So my design is based on Katrina, the fortune telling panther! Obviously I’m absolutely desperate for her to appear in game.

Anyway, I’ve gone for her signature purple eye shadow and red wrapped shawl! In the picture you may be able to spot a few gems hanging from the shawl which are meant to match hers - but I’ve also incorporate a bit of extra gold! I painted gold in the shape of a moon and gold tears under my eyes. I guess I just felt it looked cool and mystical! I was inspired by the title of this contest because I felt like she was the perfect character to represent the cosmic - she always used to start her fortunes with the line about the cosmic energy of the universe! So I wanted to add a bit of cosmic energy to her makeup-inspired look. I hope you like it!

I know I could have just drawn a picture, but honestly a big part of me doing this is because I want to show that makeup doesn’t have to be gendered. I was always a big fan of the idea of Egyptian Pharaoh makeup, so here I am!

Well, to the best of my abilities, I decided to go with Julia! I chose Julia since she is currently one of my favorites in NH and she had a lot of inspiration from her colors. The feathers on top of her head went from gray to green and I decided to replicate that with the model's hair as well. From there, I took inspiration from her tail feathers and recreated the look as the eye shadow (I hope thats the right term) for a pop of color. You may not see it, but I added some color to the cheeks as well, but subtly as to not interfere with vast, bright colors. From there, I decided to bring the look to a full circle by having the models lips be green (upper), and white/blue (lower), using Julia's main colors.

This was fun!

but question - what limits are there... if I were to use accessories. I'm thinking of like a headband because my intended character has eyes that are on top of her head? but also i'm envisioning like cat ears for people doing cat villagers. Also these aren't necessarily a "face jewel" or make up product, but googly eyes?

here’s my submission! I usually don’t do makeup so this was hard

mine is based off the villager, Daisy! I tried to go for a yellow blue palette with lots of gradients to represent Daisy’s ears. Daisy is mostly yellow with blue accents, but I aimed for a mostly blue palette since I kept the skin tone in a yellowish hue. I added in some shimmer and metallic accents to make it look cool haha and tried to recreate Daisy’s ears with her hair! Of course recreated Daisy’s iconic blue eyebrows as well

I couldn't not do a sheep look, and Muffy's goth vibes are right up my alley, so I created this black and purple look inspired by her. It's a little a lot messy but at least it was fun to do!

This makeup look is inspired my my girl Tangy! The lips are based on her iconic leaf, the eye shadow look based on her orange-like pattern. I also thought some fun hair color streaks and orange inspired jewelry would look cute! This took me 3 hours and my finger is now rubbed raw so I hope y'all like it lol~

my makeup design inspired by celeste (inspo credit)! the face/eye makeup features the gemini and big dipper constellations, a nod to our favorite twins (timmy and tommy) and tom nook himself, as well as celeste's love for star-gazing. the eyes are framed with bright blue graphic liner to compliment the blue tones in the galaxy makeup. a simple dark red lip was chosen to complete the look and allow the eye makeup to shine.

p.s. this is by far one of my favorite fair events... i loved seeing everyone's entries and look forward to following along with future submissions
