okay i know i can't be the only one who went to boarding school i KNOW there are more of you out there

this is a thread to discuss your boarding school experiences, or if you never went to boarding school,would you have liked to??? what's your opinion on boarding school??? do you have any preconceptions from stories like mallory towers or zoey 101??? would you send your own kids to boarding school or do you disagree with sending your kids away from home??? DISCUSS

i went to boarding school for 5 years, from the age of 13-18
mine was 5 day boarding (i came home every friday night and went back every sunday night) and most current day boarding schools are 5 day, but i know of a few 7 day schools as well (where students only come home once or twice a term) although they're far less common

yeah basically, a lot would be single-sex but mine was co-educational, there aren't many of them at all though
obviously the boys and girls stayed in different boarding houses but we were all on the same campus and integrated in everything except sleeping arrangements haha (also we had separate dining halls for breakfast??? i think it was because they thought if the guys and girls were together for breakfast girls would feel pressured to put on makeup and then end up being late for breakfast??? idk but we had all our other meals together)

i wish i could go to boarding school. being away from my family would be heaven. in fact, i only go home if i really have to.

Never really thought about it, but my mom's boss' kid went to boarding school because of bullies. She loved it there.

I would have loved it because it sounds like a lot of fun to not be with family. Except I feel like they don't have private showers and that's a big no-no.
