First I wanted to thank you all for your participation in the polls !
I love to read your comments when you're voting, it's entertaining and we can all learn more about the reasons behind the popularity of our beloved villagers

8 polls took place previously on TBT, we know now who's your favorite new villager for each personality.
It's time to determine who's the Best New Villager between all the winners.

The idea is to choose 3 villagers but you can choose only 1 or 2 if you don't like more villagers than that.
The 3 most voted of them will accede to the Grande Finale (the last poll of this NEW VILLAGERS POLLS edition).

I voted for Sasha, Raymond and Reneigh

Raymond is iconic and I loved him the second I saw him.
Reneigh is like the super cool I live my own life attitude, and her design is really pretty. (I love horses)
Sasha is a Kpop idol realness and I'm here for him!

Overall I think this is a strong top 8 and it will be close.
Dom is also on my island and is too precious, but I can only pick 3.

I chose Raymond, Shino, and Sasha! Looks like they're in the lead so far, too. So proud of them.

I spent over 200 NMT searching for Raymond last year with help from my bf, so he was definitely getting my vote. He's just too cute, and I think his fangs, heterochromia and overall design is one of the best out of all villagers.

Spent a lot of time searching for Sasha, too, and just super appreciate his design. So many thought he was going to be a girl, but he totally blasted the "cute bunny villager with lashes must be female!" stereotype. He even has the fashion hobby, which just makes me appreciate him even more! He's so cute and I will protect him at all costs.

Shino shares the cute fangs with Raymond, plus she has horns; the other female deer don't have any, which makes her pretty unique! I think her personality is cute on her, too, which I really didn't expect. I initially wanted her to be sisterly, but I honestly think the peppy personality does suit her best imo.

Overall, I just think their designs are the best out of the rest except for Sasha. Sasha is kind of plain compared to Ione, but I just like him more, so he gets my vote.

Out of these votes I have to go with Ione, Raymond, and Shino, in that order.

1) Ione. I was initially disappointed when it was revealed that she was a Normal personality, because personally I've not been able to connect well with them because they're so...uninteresting? (My least favourite personality, personally) However, Ione really changed that for me. I honestly love how she looks more "snooty" but still has that kind yet modest personality that is characteristic of Normals. And her HOUSE! She's a literal gamer! And I thought I couldn't adore her more until I made her HHP home! I'm the most proud of how I made her home, and she seems to feel the same way as I've actually seen her dance around her home, something I've never seen any of my other villagers do. So yeah, this starry squirrel has stolen my heart.

2) Raymond. Yeah, I can understand how people find him to be overrated, but I find his grumpy appearance to be absolutely adorable, paired with his glasses and formal wear. And honestly, his outwardly grumpy appearance makes his smiles even cuter! Also his fangs! I also prefer light/neutral colours over bright colours, so I think that's another thing that makes me like him more than others. Also he's the only villager to have given me three of his photos so far, and there's no way I'm letting him leave my island.

3) Shino! When I saw her in the AC direct I was literally screaming "Who is THAT?" I knew at that moment I just needed to have her on my island. I think her design is amazing, based off of a Japanese Oni with the red horns sprouting from her head. I also like the deer the most out of all the species (followed by squirrels) so it was a no-brainer for me. I know some people are upset with Shino being a peppy, but honestly the deer have been lacking a Peppy representative, and I think the personality fits well for a villager who is well, a demon. Also did I mention her fangs? I think they add to her charm!

If I could vote for four, my fourth would be Sasha. The reason why he isn't above the aforementioned three is because, while he is adorable and has a wonderful colour scheme, compared to the others he doesn't really have any specific theme? I love having him on my island, but if I had no choice but to let one of these villagers leave, I'd have to let Sasha go to keep the others. ;-;

Sasha is my favorite in this poll. Tiansheng is actually my favorite new villager, but he unfortunately lost in the jock round. I also casted a vote for Raymond. I don’t really have a reason other than just liking him. I didn’t end up voting for a third because I’m not particularly fond of the other villagers. I will give a special shout-out to Frett, but the doggo didn’t make the poll either.

I really don’t like Shino. I don’t know, I just think she looks off.

sasha! so happy to see this beautiful bouncing bun in first place right now :3 he deserves all the love. i dont really have an argument for him over the other villagers other than i just think hes super adorable and im so happy to see him around the island and chat with him. also his house is really cute too. some villagers just click with us i guess!

Voted for Petri, Shino and Sasha. Hard choice as I have or have had most of them on my island and they're all brilliant. My current residents from the list are the 3 mentioned above plus Ione, Dom and Reneigh, while Raymond just left

Voted for Sasha. After Anabelle moved out, i had only 9 nmt. He was the one i found with my last ticket. Made me really happy That was my lucky day.

There's so many good and interesting villagers here, and with so many real stand-outs in design, it was really hard to narrow it down to three. ;u; But I think Shino, Raymond, and Petri are my favorites of the bunch.

Shino has a really cool design and I love fantasy/mythology themed villagers! Plus she totally stole my heart during the Direct, and I'm glad that we finally have a peppy deer—it wasn't the personality I originally expected her to have, but it grew on me a lot and I think it really suits her now. I really like her color scheme too.

Raymond was my absolute favorite of the first new eight NH villagers, so I definitely had to include him in my three picks. I still think his design is solid and really cute! Smug seems like a very fitting personality for a cat villager, and I think Raymond captures that sort of personality very well. Also, I love his home exterior.

And last but not least, Petri, because I love this little lab rat!! I wasn't expecting to like her as much as I do, but having seen her in-game, I think she's got a really beautiful design. I love her classy aesthetic! I think it's really cool that we have a female scientist villager now too—and another really good mouse villager design, since I think the mice are a very underrated species.

I've moved Sasha to my island and he has been great. He's quickly becoming another favorite, right next to Rudy.

gave my votes to marlo, sasha, and petri. hard choice! i love the mad scientist vibes that petri has, love sasha's aesthetic and think he is just perfect, and i love marlo for the godfather reference. real tough to leave out ione and shino, because i think their designs are also so good! but i feel like their personalities don't match their appearance. imo they should both be snooty, but oh well!

My votes go to Petri, Shino, and Marlo.

Petri's my favorite of these listed because of her scientist design and her neat 3D glasses style ears. Her eyes also look really pretty behind the glasses. Plus she's a Snooty, which is my favorite female villager personality and probably my favorite personality overall as of New Horizons.

Shino is great since she's so wholly unique, whether based on the kilin or hannya mask or both.

Finally, while I was kind of tempted to go with Reneigh since she's got a cool look, I'm going to have to go with Marlo. I didn't think much of him at first, but he quickly grew on me once I saw the Godfather reference and how he's based on Marlon Brando's portrayal of Vito Corleone. He's got a fun design and the Cranky personality really suits him. I had an absolute blast making his vacation home in Happy Home Paradise too. He's just an overall awesome villager, gabeesh?

I had to vote Reneigh and Dom because they’re both staples of my island. I also voted Ione because she is everything I wanted from a new villager compared to the other 7 they introduced.
Honorable 4th place: Petri

I voted for Reneigh, Ione, and Raymond, in order of poll appearance. I love Reneigh - she reminds me of a cool older sister that you try to be like and want her to think you're cool, but not overdo it (I don't have an older sibling, so this is based off of imagining). I don't like the uchi personality, but she's the only one I actually make an exception for in that regard.

Ione is just galaxy dreams. I love her theme, colors, personality, voice...she's just awesome.

Raymond, ahh Raymond...I know he's "overrated", but I love his smug little self. He is the perfect office cat, and I adore him. My head cannon for him is that he does drag with Marshal on Saturdays, and I love them.
