Are you home schooled?

Idunno, what's homeschooled to you? I'm around my brothers and parents all day o.o
My parents are out of the house often, and my siblings are generally together by themselves...

Yeah, that happens here too...

it's really ridiculous how many people are so ignorant on home schooling, lol. it's better all around than going to school... public schooling at least. i'd advertise homeschooling like CRAZY to anyone going to the corrupt public schools in my county with a 70% DROP OUT rate. :/

to all the people saying homeschool sucks - would you rather homeschool your kids and have them have pretty much a 100% chance of graduating with more free time, less high school drama/stress, more concentration on their work in the 2 hours average they do it a day, and a better outlook for their overall future? or send them to a school with a 70% drop out rate (and other counties in america aren't too much better seeing as we're one of the most illiterate countries in the world) and pat them on the back while congratulating them for having great social skills, but not having a high school education for the rest of their mcdonalds filled lives?

i don't get it.

Considering that social skills are probably the most important skills you can have..... the latter.

You know what... I'd rather know how to do basic math and form a well-structured sentence than have good "social skills"... you would be amazed at the number of high school students who have a poor grasp on fractions. Yes... fractions. This country is going to hell...

Pah. We all know why education is lacking.
and I still consider social skills to be more important then anything.

hows that a bad reason?
so u want to be stuck home all day learning, instead of meeting with friends, moving around to other classes, exercise, and then go home to relax? I see home as to relax and sleep, not hang out in! lol

Well hopefully you'd have something nice to do at home... >_>
Although I don't think homeschooling is healthy, I don't think the other extreme is healthy either.

lol well its different for everyone. I'm just saying how I feel about it... I would hope none of you stay at home all day 24/7 without a good excuse =P

Bul, your super long post is pointless if you're counting me, because we've had this talk loads of times and you know we don't see eye-to-eye.

Huh? What long post? 0_0

I think I may have left my computer on the "Posting reply to..." screen, haha... I don't see the point in arguing this, 'cause like you said, we've had this talk before. But again, I've been told that the only thing that tells them I'm a homeschooler is my nonconformism and my taste in music/the arts.

I do know some homeschool kids that have terrible social skills, though. It just depends, I guess...

yes, because they're going to need awesome social skills to be hired at the local mcdonalds where they're going to be in the back flipping burgers for the rest of their life... maybe the occasional social skills when the cashier doesn't understand how exactly a customer wants their hamburger...

yes, very important if they're not going to have a high school education.

The point is that you're getting a high school education.

The topic isn't 'hanging out with kids is better than homeschooling', because obviously homeschooling is better than no schooling. Way to twist the topic.

Obviously if your child is failing school you take them out. But there's no reason to homeschool for their entire education, that's just silly.
